Vernice Lucille Brubaker, 91, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 12:41 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in McPherson.
Vernice was born in Seattle, Washington on August 31, 1931, a daughter of Myrtle (Mohler) and Victor Wilhelm.
Vernice attended LaVerne College, LaVerne, California where she received her teaching degree.
She was a member of Monitor Community Church of the Brethren in McPherson.
Vernice was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for several years
Vernice was a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Leader, Bible Study Leader, and a counselor at Camp LaVerne. She loved being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma "GG", enjoyed camping with her family, singing and playing the piano.
Vernice L. Wilhelm was united in marriage to Dwayne LaVerne Brubaker on June 11, 1950 in LaVerne, California. The young couple established their first home together in Los Angeles, California. They were blessed with three children, two daughters and one son, Cheryl, Dale, and Karen. In 1953 they moved their family to Downey, Califorina. In 1964 the family moved to LaMirada, California. In 1990 Vernice and Dwayne moved to McPherson, Kansas to be closer to family. Dwayne passed away on August 9, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Anne Tschudin and her husband Bob, of McPherson; Dale Edward Brubaker and his wife Sara, of Fort Collins, Colorado and Karen Elaine Linn and her husband Jerry, of McPherson; her sister Victoria Rose, of San Bernardino, California. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Casey, Joshua, Bethany, Samuel, Shanna, Nate, Jacob, Tyler, Bryce and Caleb. 12 great-grandchildren, Amarel, Runa, Jase, Riley, Avery, Lyle, Wendell, Niko, Amy, Judah and Bri.
Vernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dwayne Brubaker and her brother Eugene Herbert Wilhelm.
Services will be at a later date.
