HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of County Commissioners approved disbursing funds for a new industrial park south of South Hutchinson at their meeting on Wednesday.

"Last year,&nbsp;Growth Inc., a separate entity but managed by the Chamber, was able to use our own internal funding, through some other gifts and pledges from donors, to acquire 154 acres on K-96 for the future development," said Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber CEO Debra Teufel.

Growth Inc. will now receive ARPA funds in the amount of $1.2 million for the development of a K-96 industrial park that is in an unincorporated area of Reno County. The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber also received $2 million from the State of Kansas' Base Grant 2.0 for the project. Teufel sees a great opportunity for return on the county's investment, but they have to get water to the site.

"In order to really ready a site that could be prepared for projects that require 200, 300, perhaps even 400 or more acres, we have started engineering studies to make sure, what are the infrastructure requirements and the ability to extend infrastructure. There was the question about water. We've had several meetings between the intergovernmental agencies to talk about water service to this site and the other projects that you have on your radar that were mentioned earlier with Yoder and HABIT. Initially, some of those discussions were about infrastructure that could be one combined line. Then, I think it became evident the timeline to get water to Yoder was so imminent that would need to move forward. It's probably a smaller sized line than would be required for industry. Hutchinson, the city of Hutchinson has been at the table talking about this as well and starting their own studies about their own water rights and how much water they have that they could sell to an industrial park of this nature that would be outside their city boundaries."

Part of what the county money will go for is the engineering to figure out where the water line can go and also, it's possible some of it could be used to buy more land.

"As we are able to attract industry, our goal is then that the industry would purchase the ground, which then would reimburse the money that we've already put into that first piece of the development, could potentially reimburse for land that could be acquired with these funds and that really could then be used as a driver for the future," Teufel said. "None of these dollars are being used for staffing costs. All of it is for site development and it will be an asset that yes, can be monetized to the sale of industry and really create a return. The projects in the pipeline that are looking at Reno County right now, we have submitted on several, but they are in the scale of billion dollar investments. We've talked about what could that mean to the property tax base of Reno County and the communities involved and it's hard to make predictions, but some of the projects alone, valuation of the project would be greater than the whole valuation of Hutchinson today."

The approval for the funding was unanimous.

County approves K-96 industrial park ARPA funds

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday held three separate non-elected personnel executive sessions with physicians regarding the Consulting Physician position to assist Reno County's Local Health Officer. 

This is required because the County's Local Health Officer is not a doctor. According to the Request for Qualifications issued earlier this year, the consultant’s responsibilities are as follows:

1. Direct the Local Health Officer on program and related medical and professional matters when requested by the Public Health Officer or County Board of Health.

2. Provide qualified, licensed, and professional medical advice to the Local Health Officer as required by K.S.A. 65-201.

3. As needed, be available for phone consultation with public health staff on medical-related matters.

4. Except for emergency events which may require additional hours of service, the Consultant is expected to provide minimal amounts of service each month. Applicants should provide in their response a monthly contract at an hourly rate for services.

5. The Consultant shall communicate with the County’s liability insurer and follow procedures of that insurer, if any, as necessary to comply with any requirements of the County’s liability insurance.

This is for public health. This isn't just all general health items at the Health Department. This medical consultant is only for public emergencies. The most recent such emergency was the COVID-19 pandemic.

The intent is to have a decision either later in August or in early September.

Conversations with medical advisor candidates held Wednesday

Today's "Throwback Thursday Collection" takes us to the 3700 block of North Pennington Road on the west side. 

Rustic Isle was built in 1939 by Robert W. Nelson, co-owner of Nelson Manufacturing and Supply (plumbing supplies), at 612 E. 1st. Rustic Isle was Nelson's personal 93-acre playground. It included a nine-room, two-story cabin; stone barbeque pit; a lake with a concrete and timber boat landing; and a 50-foot dam. 

There was a 200-foot-by-50-foot island on Cow Creek, connected by a 52-foot rustic bridge. It had a large timber gate with wagon wheels and concrete lion heads. 

In the 1940s and '50s, an in-ground swimming pool was added, along with dressing rooms with showers and restrooms. Also, the place had an enclosed picnic area and outdoor theater with dual 35mm projectors and sound system. Some adult movies were shown. 

In 1956, a small airport was added. The first photo is a postcard showing the celebration of the airfield opening.

Bob Ging later purchased the property around 1960. Vandalism took its toll after that and the property improvements were eventually cleared away. 

The second photo is a Google Earth view of the property today at 3700 N. Pennington Rd. where Rustic Isle was located. The property is now owned by the Albert and Rebecca Miller Living Trust.

📷 Throwback Thursday: Hutch - Then & Now Collection - Vol. 30

HUTCHINSON, Kan. —&nbsp;The grand opening of the HTeaO location is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 11 at noon. Thomas Tea Company LLC is bringing Texas-based iced tea franchise HTeaO to Hutchinson.&nbsp; There will be half price drinks and half price gallons all day.

According to StartUp Hutch, the project came together with the help of a $390,000 loan package.&nbsp;

Thomas Tea Company, co-owned by Darren Thomas, Jacqueline Thomas, and Jacob Thomas, utilized several StartUp Hutch loan programs to acquire the necessary capital,&nbsp;to bring HTeaO to Hutchinson, including E-Community, StartUp Kansas, and new GROWKS funds. &nbsp;

These funds are all made available to Reno County businesses and startups through a partnership with NetWork Kansas, the statewide network for entrepreneurship communities.

HTeaO to open Friday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Creekside Neighborhood will meet Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 2 on the second floor of the Hutchinson Public Library at 901 North Main to discuss the possibility of getting involved in Hutch Fest in October.

The Creekside Neighborhood is an area bounded by Main Street, Fourth Avenue, Cow Creek and 11th Avenue with Main as the eastern boundary.

The neighborhood was formally introduced in 2019.

PRATT COUNTY—Three people died in an accident that occurred just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Pratt County.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Chad Crittenden, a 2021 Nissan Kicks driven by Lilia Jasmin&nbsp;Barajas, 32, Wichita, was westbound on U.S. 54, just west of SW 19th Avenue and rear-ended the trailer of 2014 Peterbilt semi hauling sand that was stopped in a construction zone.

Barajas and two children in the back seat died, according to Crittenden. The driver of the semi Pedro Guilloty-Rodriguez, 38, Haines City, Florida, was not injured.&nbsp; &nbsp;Barajas was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

Kansas woman, 2 children dead after rear-end crash

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Board of Reno County Commissioners tabled the choice of a new county newspaper to a future meeting at their meeting on Wednesday. There are ongoing questions regarding the legal status of the Rural Messenger and its status with the Postal Service.

"When the RFP was returned, the Rural Messenger's status with the U.S. Postal Service was they had an application pending," said County Counselor Patrick Hoffman. "They were optimistic that by this point, they would have a determination by the U.S. Postal Service that approved their standing as a periodical, but as of today, they don't have that yet. I would suggest at the very least, tabling the whole issue until it's determined by the Postal Service whether or not they are a periodical."

Nancy Stucky with the Ninnescah Valley News raised questions about the overall process, after the commission allowed the Rural Messenger to match her price, which is not how they normally handle requests for proposal.

"In May, I submitted, in good faith, my response to the RFP," Stucky said. "I didn't have to change my address, and I didn't have to lower my advertising rates. I don't understand why the Rural Messenger was allowed to do that. They shouldn't have even been considered, since their response to the RFP didn't qualify."

Commissioners understood Stucky's point, and furthermore, chair Daniel Friesen raised the question of why counties have to have a designated newspaper at all, since cities are able to opt out of that through home rule statute.

"Frankly, I think we would all agree we don't need to publish in a print paper anymore," Friesen said. "The circulation on any of them is too low to really be effective. It's available online and people have public access to the internet if they don't have it at home."

The issue will come back at a future meeting, though, as the Kansas Association of Counties has not yet been successful in changing the statute to allow for counties to opt out of having a paper.

County tables newspaper question

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Quality of Life is a play at Stage 9 in Hutchinson taking the stage this weekend. The play revolves around two couples dealing with moral, ethical, and religious beliefs as one couple faces the murder of a daughter and the other couple faces cancer.

This poignant drama deals with issues many of us face with hope providing a motif throughout the play. Stage 9’s production is directed by Jo Stropes. There is also quite a bit of humor in the play.

"The author, Jane Anderson, is very good at sprinkling humor throughout the script," Stropes said. "The audience isn't brought to a terrible state of depression by the time they leave the theater. It's quite a funny show."

Much of the humor comes from the different social experiences of the two couples in the play. Dinah (Lisa Sack) and Jeanette (Gaye Tibbets) are distant cousins, both geographically and spiritually. Dinah and Bill (Mike Saunders) are Midwesterners holding fast to their Christian beliefs while mourning the death of their daughter. Jeanette and Neil (Ron Sylvester) are free-spirited academics clinging to their own spiritual beliefs while dealing with tragedy. They have been burned out of their home and are living in a yurt while Neil battles terminal cancer. Anderson was a writer on the AMC show Mad Men shortly after writing this play.

"If you think of Mad Men and those dialogues, you have these long passages, but then you have these really, really short back and forth conversations," said Ron Sylvester, who plays Neil. "To me, those are the hardest to remember, when you only have two words, but you have to put them in at the right time. It's really got a nice rhythm to it."

Quality of Life is a play with adult themes, so it is best viewed by older teens and above. The show runs August 10-12, 7:30 p.m. and August 13 at 2 p.m. at Stage 9, 9 South Main. Tickets may be purchased in advance at <a href="http://stage9hutch.com">stage9hutch.com</a> or at the door. The box office opens 1 hour before show time and the house opens at 30 minutes prior to curtain.

HAVEN, Kan. — Haven Police posted on social media on Tuesday that passing a school bus with the stop arm out is an expensive ticket. 

In Haven, this fine on the first violation is $315 plus court costs of $92.50. A total of $407.50. 

Please stop when the arm is out. Forget the fine, remember the life the sign is there to protect.

The state law changed in 2018.&nbsp;A third violation anywhere in the state will cost a driver more than $1,000.

Haven police remind residents not to pass stopped school buses

MUNICH, Germany — Siemens Energy announced on Monday its results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023 that ended June 30, 2023.

“Our third-quarter results demonstrate the challenges in turning around Siemens Gamesa. The strong performance of our other business areas gives me confidence in our company’s ability to put businesses back on a strong footing”, says Christian Bruch, President and CEO of Siemens Energy AG.

Siemens Energy’s results of the third quarter were impacted by charges at Siemens Gamesa. These relate mainly to quality issues of certain onshore platforms as well as increased product costs and ramp-up challenges in the offshore business.

Siemens Energy continues to benefit from a favorable market environment. Orders of €14.9bn reflect 54.2% growth on a comparable basis (excluding currency translation and portfolio effects), primarily driven by large orders at Siemens Gamesa and Grid Technologies (GT). 

The Book-to-bill ratio (ratio of orders to revenue) came in at 1.98 and led the order backlog to a new record of €109.0bn.

Siemens Energy reported a Net loss of €2,931m (Q3 FY 2022: Net loss €564m), including negative tax effects from valuation allowances on deferred tax assets in connection with the charges at Siemens Gamesa. Corresponding basic earnings per share (EPS) were negative €3.42 (Q3 FY 2022: negative €0.58).

In light of the developments at Siemens Gamesa, management adjusts the outlook for Siemens Energy. Due to the aforementioned challenges at Siemens Gamesa, management now expects for Siemens Energy Group comparable revenue growth to be in a range of 9% to 11%, a Profit margin before Special items between negative 10% and negative 8% and a Net loss of around €4.5bn. Free cash flow pre tax now is expected up to a negative low triple-digit million € amount. Management maintains its revenue and Profit margin assumptions for the segments GS, GT, and TI.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The last Saturday Night at the Y event of the 2022-23 school year will be held this Saturday, August 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the YMCA at 716 East 13th in Hutchinson.

Saturday Night at the Y will not meet in September due to the State Fair and will resume in October for the 2023-2024 school year.

After normal business hours on the second Saturday of the month the Y opens their doors to area middle schoolers where they can play basketball in the gym, workout, swim and more.

The event is for 6th through 8th graders from Reno County.

Led by art teacher Cinde Smith, each day art camp students learned about a new artist from history, talked about how and why the artist created art the way they did, and then created a project based on that artist’s work. 

The students developed their art production skills (drawing, painting, collage and sculpture), learned about the elements of art and the principles of design, and had the opportunity to solve problems and express themselves creatively.

Kids Summer Art Camp work on display

The Center for Economic Development and Business Research, with funding from the Patterson Family Foundation, forecasted population growth for the regions in Kansas by race, ethnic group, age, and gender over the fifty-year period from 2021 to 2071. These projections were forecast utilizing statewide and regional population, birth, mortality, migration, age, and gender with county, ethnic, and gender variations.

The total Kansas population is projected to grow by more than 468,000 residents, an increase of almost 16% from 2021. On average, the state's population is predicted to grow by 0.3% each year until 2071. While this growth rate is slower than what Kansas experienced between 1960 and 2010 (which was 0.54%), it is still faster than the slow growth seen since 2010.

The forecast projects faster growth in the 2050s and 2060s compared to the 2030s and 2040s. While the overall growth rate is slower than Kansas' long-term historical trends, it is an acceleration from the slow growth seen since 2010 and masks a number of divergent trends within different groups inside the state. For example, there is expected to be considerable variation across the state, both across different age groups, between rural and urban areas, and by race and ethnicity.

One significant finding is that the 65-year-old and older age group is projected to have the highest growth rate. In 2015, only 14.6% of Kansans were 65 or older, while 57.9% were between 20 and 64 years old, and 27.5% were 19 years old or younger. However, by 2071, the 65 and older age group is expected to have grown by 111,000 residents, representing 17.7% of the state's population. On the other hand, the 19 and younger age groups are expected to have an annual growth rate of 0.17%, adding 67,462 residents and representing 25.1% of the population. This means that there will still be more young people (around 852,000) than older people (around 601,000) in the state.

Interestingly, even though the number of elderly people is projected to grow, the population dependency ratio (the number of non-working-age persons compared to the number of persons aged 20 to 65) is expected to decline. In 2021, there were 0.77 non-working-age persons for every working-age person, but this ratio is expected to decrease to 0.75 people by 2071. This is possible because the working-age population is anticipated to grow steadily at a rate of 0.35% per year, with a concentration of growth in the age group of 25 to 34.

Kansas is expected to experience population growth over the next fifty years, with variations in growth rates among different age groups, urban and rural areas, and racial and ethnic groups. While the growth rate may be slower than in the past several decades combined, it still shows signs of acceleration compared to recent years. The changing demographics could have implications for various aspects of life in the state, and policymakers may need to consider these trends for future planning.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. —&nbsp; As wildfires blew up throughout the south and western United States yesterday, requests for assistance started coming in. Hutchinson fire crews had requests from Idaho, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado. Hutchinson's wildfire team ended up on an assignment in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and are assigned to the Quartz Ridge Fire.

Leading the team is Firefighter Brent Fisher, who serves as Hutchinson's Fire Certified Engine Boss. Joining him are two of Hutchinson's Fire Captains, Craig Walle and Matt Brooks. Captain Walle is in the final leg of obtaining his Engine Boss certification with this deployment. Crews departed last night. The Hutchinson Fire Department will provide updates on the crew as information comes in.

The department is expecting to be busy through October with wildfires in the west as dry conditions continue.

Hutch Fire deployed to Colorado

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The American Red Cross has seen a shortfall in blood donations this summer.

"We currently are seeing a shortfall of about 25,000 blood donations in the first two months of summer," said Tiffany Davison with the Red Cross. "This makes it hard to keep that hospital shelf stocked with the lifesaving blood products that people need."

If you can't get off to donate as often, but still want to give the most when you can, the American Red Cross has an opportunity for you, as well.&nbsp;

"One of those donations that we would love people to sign up for is the Power Red," Davison said. "Those are our O Negative, O Positive, A Negative and B Negative. Of course, there's people who don't know what their blood type is, so they would have to come in and get that checked."

Power Red is similar to a whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to allow you to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets to you. It takes about a half hour longer than a whole blood donation.

"It also has some height and weight restrictions for males and females," Davison said. "You can find all that at<a href="https://www.redcrossblood.org/">&nbsp;https://www.redcrossblood.org/</a>, as well.

The Hutchinson blood drive wraps up Wednesday from&nbsp;7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Donors will be served a meal each day, and delicious cinnamon rolls will be there on Wednesday.

Red Cross needs blood, drive continues

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson police released information on the arrest of two people connected with a shooting in the city in June.&nbsp;

According to the release, on&nbsp;June 11th, 2023, at approximately 2:00 AM, officers with the Hutchinson Police Department were dispatched to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in reference to a 24-year-old male arriving at the facility with a gunshot wound to his leg. It was determined that the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Liberty Street in Hutchinson during what was described as an attempted armed robbery. The victim was seated in his vehicle when he was approached by a male suspect who demanded undisclosed property from him. As the victim was trying to flee, the suspect produced a handgun and fired it, striking the victim in his leg. The victim was transferred to a Wichita Hospital and has since been treated and released.

The subsequent investigation revealed that as the victim was parked in the street a suspect vehicle pulled up behind him and a male suspect got out of the passenger door and approached the victim’s vehicle. Evidence suggests that the incident was planned and a second male suspect in the vehicle was implicated as well.

On August 7th, 2023, Jason Gleason Jr, BM/22, Hutchinson, Kansas and Jacob Terry, WM/19, Hutchinson, Kansas were both arrested for 1) Attempted 1st Degree Murder 2) Aggravated Robbery 3) Aggravated Battery

Both suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The case is still under investigation, and this is all the information being released at this time. Two arrested in connection with June shooting

SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Kansas Highway Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to identify witnesses from a two-vehicle fatality collision that occurred at approximately 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, according to a media release from the KHP.

A 2013 Suzuki SX4 driven by Kassandra A.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ramos, 22, Wichita, was northbound on Interstate 235 just south of Central Avenue.

The car crossed the median. A southbound 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by April R. Fisher, 38, Newton, struck the Suzuki.

Ramos was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the county forensics center.&nbsp; Fisher had minor injuries. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

KHP looking for witnesses to fatal 2-vehicle crash

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kansas State Fair General Manager Bryan Schulz said that the new sound system throughout the Kansas State Fairgrounds will be ready to go for the fair, as testing took place earlier this month.

"We actually had sound throughout the grounds, they were playing music," Schulz said. "Now, it's a matter of getting all of our PA announcements put together. We've got some great talent that's going to be putting those together for us. It's just an opportunity for us to inform people what's going on on the grounds throughout the day and also if any issues, emergencies, anything like that would come up."

Unfortunately, the news is not as good for the air conditioning projects that they hoped to have done.

"The air conditioning units in Oz Gallery, we knew about the ones in 4H Centennial Hall, have been on back order again," Schulz said. "They are talking maybe late September, October, November before we get them in. This is a big setback for us. We've been talking about it for a long time now, over a year, the monies that the state gave us to put into that building, but, I guess, you know, we're at the beck and call of our supply chain."

It's not as if there aren't other buildings with air conditioning, however.

"We're just going to roll with it," Schulz said. "We've got opportunities for other buildings for people to go in and enjoy the air conditioning in comfort. As we talked earlier, we're hoping for 75 degree days for fair days. We can only hope and pray that actually happens."

The 2023 Kansas State Fair is Sept. 8 to 17 in Hutchinson.

Success of summer projects is mixed bag for Fair

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Chamber Blue Interest Survey is live for less than two more weeks.

"Chamber Blue rolled out last year," said Debra Teufel with the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce. "It was a collaboration of about 50 chambers of commerce across Kansas that knew that our small business members need options when it comes to affordable health insurance for their employees. From that, we worked with different providers and selected Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. They created a product called Chamber Blue. We promoted it to our membership. I can't even tell you how many members across Kansas have enrolled in it. I know it's helped a large number of our small businesses that are Hutch Chamber members. Now, it's time for the new enrollment."

Businesses that would be new to Chamber Blue must complete the survey to be eligible to see the rates and enroll for the 2024 enrollment period.

"If you were in it last year, you are in it for the future," Teufel said. "You will see your rates come out later this fall. We also wanted to have an open enrollment period. If you're a small business between two to fifty employees, you would qualify to click <a href="https://bcbskansas.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b7rD8y6ZM21itgO">on the link on our website</a>. Sometimes you have to put some census data about your employee base. Then, they will pull all that data in and then be able to create the new pool for this year and the new rate structure."

Once rates are released in October, a BCBSKS representative will reach out to review with any businesses that complete the survey.

"The larger the pool, it spreads the risk and it should result in better rate structures for everyone," Teufel said. "Sometimes, a small business, your options are limited and your premiums are higher, unfortunately. This is just one way to give you another option to consider for being able to provide a really valuable benefit to your employees."

The open enrollment period for new businesses that join Chamber Blue will be in November for a January 2024 start date.

Deadline for small business insurance plan coming soon

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — <a href="https://www.hutchclinic.com/notice">Hutchinson Clinic, P.A. issued an update earlier this month</a> regarding the data security event that may involve information related to certain patients as well as current or former employees of Hutchinson Clinic. As we continue to work toward notifying impacted patients directly, we are committed to providing updated information about the event, our response, and steps for potentially impacted individuals to take to better protect against the possibility of identity theft and fraud, should they feel it is appropriate to do so. This should serve as an update to the notice we posted on our website earlier this year and does not involve a separate event. Patients received letters this week notifying them of the incident, if they did not know before.

What Happened?&nbsp;On or about December 21, 2022, we became aware of suspicious activity related to certain Hutchinson Clinic computer systems. We immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists to secure our network and to determine the nature and scope of the activity. Through the investigation, it was determined that there was unauthorized access to Hutchinson Clinic’s network between December 19, 2022, and December 21, 2022. The unauthorized actor had the ability to acquire certain information stored on the network during the period of access. Therefore, we undertook a time-intensive and comprehensive review of the at-risk files to identify those current and former patients, and any current and former employees, whose information may have been impacted by this event.

To honor our commitment to maintaining timely and transparent communication with our employees, our patients, and the community, we provided notice of this event on our website while the review was ongoing. The comprehensive review is now complete, and Hutchinson Clinic is working as quickly as possible to mail notice letters to impacted individuals for whom we have valid mailing addresses. This letter will include resources that individuals can reference to further protect their information.

Which Patients / What Information Was Affected?&nbsp;The types of potentially impacted information include name, and contact information, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, health insurance information, Medicare or Medicaid number, medical record number (MRN), medical history, diagnosis, prescription information, treatment information, and physician name.

As we continue to work toward notifying impacted patients directly, we are committed to providing updated information about the event, our response, and steps for potentially impacted individuals to take to better protect against the possibility of identity theft and fraud, should they feel it is appropriate to do so. This should serve as an update to the notice we posted on our website earlier this year and does not involve a separate event. Patients received letters this week notifying them of the incident, if they did not know before.What Happened?&nbsp;On or about December 21, 2022, we became aware of suspicious activity related to certain Hutchinson Clinic computer systems. We immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists to secure our network and to determine the nature and scope of the activity. Through the investigation, it was determined that there was unauthorized access to Hutchinson Clinic’s network between December 19, 2022, and December 21, 2022. The unauthorized actor had the ability to acquire certain information stored on the network during the period of access. Therefore, we undertook a time-intensive and comprehensive review of the at-risk files to identify those current and former patients, and any current and former employees, whose information may have been impacted by this event.To honor our commitment to maintaining timely and transparent communication with our employees, our patients, and the community, we provided notice of this event on our website while the review was ongoing. The comprehensive review is now complete, and Hutchinson Clinic is working as quickly as possible to mail notice letters to impacted individuals for whom we have valid mailing addresses. This letter will include resources that individuals can reference to further protect their information.Which Patients / What Information Was Affected?&nbsp;The types of potentially impacted information include name, and contact information, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, health insurance information, Medicare or Medicaid number, medical record number (MRN), medical history, diagnosis, prescription information, treatment information, and physician name.What We Are Doing.&nbsp;We at Hutchinson Clinic take this event and the security of your information seriously.
