Jo Ellen Cooper, 69, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She worked as a middle school special education teacher for 11 years.

Jo Ellen was born on Sept. 28, 1951, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Marvin Edison and Joan Lillian (Johnson) Cooper. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University.

She was a former member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved to travel in her spare time.

She is survived by a son, Clinton Rife, II (Skylar) of Bogue, KS; a brother, Jerry Cooper of Emporia, KS; and a granddaughter, Paisley Jo-Anna Rife, who was named after her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Eugene Cooper.

There will be no service held at this time.
