Ward Michael Phillips, 49, passed away December 17, 2024, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas, after a courageous battle with renal failure. He was born June 8, 1975, to Greg and Jeannie (Skillett) Phillips in Great Bend, Kansas.

Ward grew up in Lewis, Kansas, where he attended elementary and high school graduating in 1995. He &nbsp;lived in Hays before moving to Overland Park in 2004 to pursue his education at DeVry University in Kansas City. During his time there, Ward worked for ECO Lab Pest Control until 2024. As his health declined, he moved to Hutchinson to be closer to family.

Ward had a deep passion for sports particularly the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. His favorite player was Travis Kelce, a name he honored by giving it to his beloved dog. Ward cherished the time spent with his father discussing football and life during their long phone conversations. He also looked forward to returning home each year to collaborate on their fantasy football picks.

Ward is survived by: his loving parents; brother Wade (Kayla) Phillips of Hutchinson; and maternal grandfather, Garold Skillett of Rush Center. He was preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Melvin and Jo Anne Phillips, and maternal grandmother, Millie Skillett.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at Wayne Township Cemetery in rural Lewis, Kansas. &nbsp;Memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.

Jerry Dean Goering, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away December 16, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on July 16, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Richard and Bernice Goering, Jerry spent his formative years in the Kansas heartland. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965. &nbsp;Shortly thereafter, Jerry answered the call to serve his country.

As a proud United States Marine, Jerry served with distinction in Vietnam as a member of the elite Force Recon Unit. His bravery and sacrifice earned him a Purple Heart, a testament to his unwavering courage and dedication.

Following his military service, Jerry pursued his passion for golf becoming a highly respected golf professional. Over the years, he brought his skill and charm to courses across the country including Twin Orchard in Chicago, Illinois, Westview Country Club in Miami, Florida, and leading the renowned John Jacob’s Golf School in Crested Butte, Colorado. Later in life, Jerry found a second calling as a fly-fishing guide, splitting his time between the tranquil waters of the Florida Keys in winter and the majestic rivers of Colorado in summer.

Jerry’s love for the outdoors was matched only by his deep affection for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his two sons, Stephen (Rebecca) and JD (Kelly) Goering, and his five grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Alice, Reid, and Leland. Hearing their stories and celebrating their achievements brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Steve Goering, and former spouses Paula Goering Brady and Elizabeth Goering. &nbsp;Jerry’s legacy lives on through the love and memories he shared with those closest to him. His adventurous spirit, warm smile, and gentle wisdom will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

John Harl Kraus, 80, of Hanover, PA, passed away November 8, 2024, at his home.&nbsp;

John was born December 21, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas the son of Walter R. Kraus and Wanda Myrtle Kraus (Casebolt). He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Arnold Kraus, who died in 2019. John is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Fannie Robbins Kraus and a son, Nathan Kendall Kraus.

John attended Arlington High School. &nbsp;He obtained his teaching degree and in 1964, became an airline pilot for Trans World Airlines. &nbsp;After traveling the world, John soon discovered sailing the oceans and obtained his captain’s license for a 100-ton sailing vessel, The Schooner Western Union. &nbsp;The ship became John’s home, passion and driving force, for the next 10 years. &nbsp;After obtaining registration for the Schooner Western Union on the National Register of Historic Places, John sold the Schooner.&nbsp;

His passion for restorations then turned towards old homes in the mid-Atlantic states, along with historic aircraft. John owned several airplanes that he restored, with a Belgium Bi-plane, a Stampe as his favorite. &nbsp; In retirement, John restored aircraft and aircraft engines for planes in the United States and Europe. In addition, he was a musician and could be seen performing on stages throughout the United States over several decades.&nbsp;

John achieved success. He lived well, laughed readily and loved much. He enjoyed the trust of good women, the respect of intelligent men, and the love of little children. John filled his niche and accomplished his task. He left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved flower, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul. John never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it. He always looked for the best in others and in return, gave them the best he had. John’s life was an inspiration to many and his memory a comfort.

Upon John’s death, he dedicated his body to science. His remains will be inurned at the Arlington City Cemetery, Kansas by his immediate family, at a later date.

Patricia “Pat” Flickinger, 85, of Hutchinson, died December 17, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born October 8, 1939, in Hutchinson, to John and Oma (Leach) Barrett.

Pat graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957. On April 25, 1959, she married Clyde A. Flickinger in Hutchinson at her family home. They shared nearly 53 years of marriage before his death on April 11, 2012.

She loved sharing life and work on the farm with Clyde and their four boys. She learned to show her love of family with food making meals where no one went hungry; in fact, EVERYONE went home with leftovers. She enjoyed keeping her family smiling with her joyful spirit and a love of playing games.&nbsp;

Pat expressed her faith by being involved in the Ladies Aid at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church where she was a member for many years. She was an avid thrifter and in retirement combined her faith and passion for thrifting into an act of service by becoming a member of the board of directors for Hutchinson Etcetera Shop. In addition, she was a member of the Medford EHU ladies’ group. Pat loved to sew and always had a quilt and a multitude of sewing projects in the works. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading.&nbsp;

Pat is survived by: sons, Bart Flickinger (Kris Ehling) of Wichita, Troy (Kristy) Flickinger of Hutchinson, Kyle (Lesa) Flickinger of Sterling, and Chris (Dana) Flickinger of Wichita; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Clyde Flickinger; and three siblings.&nbsp;

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Clark Comley officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling Community Cemetery.&nbsp;

Marilyn D. Dunsworth, 82, died December 16, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1942, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson, to Burt and Mary Ann (Rose) Frye.&nbsp;

Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960. She spent many years working at Hutchinson Community College in various positions, but really loved her position in the recreation department where she worked until retiring at age 70. Marilyn took her responsibilities seriously and was a mother figure to the students who often dropped by just to visit or ask for advice. She was an amazing artist and used her talent to teach others through craft clubs and at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center. She often entered her work in the State Fair, earning many blue ribbons. Marilyn loved riding horses and barrel racing and was a member of a saddle club for many years. Marilyn participated in many Bunco clubs and was a member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;

After dating for three short months, she married the love of her life, Stephen L “Steve” Dunsworth on April 13, 1968, in Hutchinson. For over 56 years, they shared their days together never spending too much time apart. She and Steve treasured going on trips with family to Colorado, Shell Knob, MO, and Lake Taneycomo. In the early years of their marriage, she enjoyed cheering on Steve and others who drove his race cars. She would often accompany Steve to dirt track races, car shows, on fishing trips, and many long boat rides. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and pet mom. She was a friend to many and enriched the lives of those who knew her.&nbsp;

Marilyn is survived by: husband, Steve Dunsworth of Hutchinson; daughters Donisa Hughes (Joe) of West Virginia, Stephanie Covington of Lawrence; grandkids Richard Doss (Connie), Nathan Hamilton (Amanda), Jason McKown (Traci), Jennifer Cross (Lloyd), Erin Langley (Matthew), Joey McKown (Lacey), Ben Hughes (Bailey), Drew Covington, Holly Covington, and 18 great grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Debbie Dunsworth (daughter), Darcy Wilson (daughter).&nbsp;

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th St., Hutchinson, with Pastor Les Wedel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Marilyn D. Dunsworth |1942-2024|

Patrick James Linton, 58, loving husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born September 7, 1966 in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Merle Eugene and Carol Louise (Bushman) Linton.

Patrick attended Sterling High School where he graduated in 1984. After high-school, he went on to Western Illinois University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. During high-school, he began his radio career at WJVM in Sterling, Illinois.

As a young adult, Pat marched with the Geneseo Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, where he played the baritone. This experience is where a lifetime love of travel began for Pat.

Pat continued his radio career at WJVQ, Macomb, Illinois, KRDI in Decorah, Iowa, and at WYGC in Gainesville, Florida, where he then met and married, Tracy Wilkinson, in 1996. After their marriage, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked at KYQQ as a morning show host and later KFDI. In 2000, his oldest daughter, Allison, was born. After winning a CMA Award, as part of the Cornbread Morning Show, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to continue his career at WIL, where he won his second CMA Award. In 2006, his youngest daughter, Abigail, was born.

In 2012, Pat returned to Wichita and worked at Connoisseur Media, where he was a morning show host. In 2017, Pat began working as a operations manager/morning show host with Eagle Media in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Pat enjoyed trips in his RV, affectionately named Coach, and his truck, Big Brutus. He had a passion for photography, where he was always behind the camera, where he proudly loved collecting videos and photos of his family. Pat was an avid Florida Gators, St. Louis Cardinals, and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Most of all, his biggest passion was supporting his daughters' musical endeavors from marching band to youth symphony.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Merle and Carol Linton.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 28 years, Tracy; his children, Allison (Kaleb) McQuillan and Abigail Linton; his brothers, Gary (Sandy) Linton and Timothy Linton; as well as the family dog, Max; and the family cats, Quinn and Fish.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.

This experience is where a lifetime love of travel began for Pat.Pat continued his radio career at WJVQ, Macomb, Illinois, KRDI in Decorah, Iowa, and at WYGC in Gainesville, Florida, where he then met and married, Tracy Wilkinson, in 1996. After their marriage, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked at KYQQ as a morning show host and later KFDI. In 2000, his oldest daughter, Allison, was born. After winning a CMA Award, as part of the Cornbread Morning Show, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to continue his career at WIL, where he won his second CMA Award. In 2006, his youngest daughter, Abigail, was born.In 2012, Pat returned to Wichita and worked at Connoisseur Media, where he was a morning show host. In 2017, Pat began working as a operations manager/morning show host with Eagle Media in Hutchinson, Kansas.Pat enjoyed trips in his RV, affectionately named Coach, and his truck, Big Brutus. He had a passion for photography, where he was always behind the camera, where he proudly loved collecting videos and photos of his family. Pat was an avid Florida Gators, St. Louis Cardinals, and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Roberta D. “Dixie” Cody, 92, formerly of Bartlesville, OK, passed away peacefully, December 15, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Arlington, KS. She was born February 7, 1932, in Ames, IA, to Loren D. and Lillian (Osgood) Buttolph.

On August 8, 1952, she married Robert M. “Bob” Cody, in Los Angeles, CA. They shared over 66 years of marriage prior to his death on October 18, 2018.&nbsp;

Dixie and her family moved often due to her father’s military service when she was young. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1949 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During the 1980’s, Bob’s career with Phillips 66, brought them to Norway for six years. In that time Dixie learned to read Norwegian fluently and passably speak it. Those years offered many new experiences and opportunities through traveling. Once the couple returned to the United States they spent the next 32 years in Bartlesville, OK. Dixie worked as the director of volunteers for R.S.V.P. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others. Dixie volunteered for the Red Cross, immunization clinics, mother and children’s classes, clown ministry and being a tour guide. She liked reading historical fiction books and mystery novels. Dixie had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and adventure. She believed that every person had an interesting story.

Dixie is survived by: children; Ron Cody of Overland Park, KS, Rhonda (Nathan) Stillwell of Arlington, KS and Randy (Kay) Cody of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Dan (Sharon) Buttolph of Lindale, TX.

Donna graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964. &nbsp;For 34 years, she sold Avon and was known throughout Hutchinson as the “Avon Lady”. &nbsp;In addition, she enjoyed playing board games, (especially Yahtzee), Bingo, and the piano. Donna was an avid Elvis Presley fan, but was an even larger fan of her family. &nbsp;She always put her family first, especially her grandchildren. &nbsp;Donna was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

On December 12, 1964, she married Jimmie Ray Stewart, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He died June 7, 1995.

Donna is survived by: &nbsp;son, Wesley Stewart (Shanan); daughter, Marsha Cooper (Steve), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caleb Stewart (Lacie), Bailee Stewart, Johnathon Carson, Heather Kortus (Adam), and Jasmine Seibering; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Buskirk (Ronnie).

Despite the adversities he faced, Rick always found a way to appreciate life and be his unique self. He enjoyed fishing at Fall River and in Harvey County. Ricky loved to live off the land and camp, he was the happiest being outside in nature with his dog, Bo.&nbsp;

Rick is survived by: mother, Betty (Jesse) Pinkston of Hutchinson; son, Ben (Cori) Wallace of Nickerson; grandchildren, Alex, Cit, Gabriel, Norah-Grace, Annalise; sisters, Bonnie Vigil of Hutchinson, Sheri (Steve) Michaels of Enid, OK, Donna (Reyes) Tamyo of Chino, CA; brother, Jesse (Marilyn) Pinkston Jr. of Hutchinson; 16 nieces and nephews; uncle, Leroy Wallace of Hutchinson; and numerous cousins.

Sherryl graduated from Hutchinson High School and Tabor College. She worked as a phlebotomist at the Medical Center and Hutch Clinic in Lyons and Hutchinson, as well as bookkeeper in a family-owned business. Sherryl lived in the Hutchinson and Little River area her entire life. She was a music lover and played the organ at First Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. Sherryl also was a lifelong cat lover. She dabbled in different crafts and enjoyed baking and canning. Sherryl was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.

On August 24, 1973, she married Russell W. Willms at First Baptist Church. They shared over 51 years of marriage. He survives.

Also surviving are: her daughters, Sheila Regier (Jaris) of Buhler, Sheria Dawson (David) of Raymore, MO, Suzette Willms of Topeka; and grandchildren, Sabella Regier, Sophia Regier, Serena Regier, Samara Regier, Josiah Regier, Jonah Regier, Noah Freeman, Addison Dawson, and Alexander Dawson.

Sherryl was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Joel Regier.

Bobby Dean “Bob” Murrell, 89, died December 15, 2024, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born March 9, 1935, in Cushing, OK, to Hurchel and Mable (Sheridan) Murrell. &nbsp;

Bob graduated from Cushing High School, in 1953. &nbsp;He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. &nbsp;Bob worked in the fractionation industry with natural gas processing and helium plant operations and maintenance as an operator. &nbsp;After retirement, he worked for Hutchinson USD 308. &nbsp;Bob enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling, and listening to country and southern gospel music. &nbsp;He was also an assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troop #306, and enjoyed taking his scouts camping. &nbsp;In addition, Bob was a member of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and the Doers Sunday School Class. &nbsp;

On June 18, 1967, he married Carolyn Marie Oplinger, in Jewell, KS. &nbsp;

Bob is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of over 57 years, Carolyn Murrell of Hutchinson; daughter, Janet Hopkins of Prairie Village; son, Curtis Murrell of Kansas City, KS; grandsons, Wyatt Hopkins of Lenexa and Garrett Hopkins of Scott City; and 10 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; infant brother, James L. Murrell; sisters, Betty Murrell McAulay (Walter), Patsy Murrell Hankins (Luther), and Phyllis (Murrell) Wright Ramsey (Jim); son-in-law, Jeff Hopkins; and nephew, Bruce Hankins.&nbsp;

Bobby Dean “Bob” Murrell |1935-2024|

Chris Lee Neil, 68, died Sunday, December 15, 2024, surrounded by people who loved him fiercely. While it is often said that someone was loved by everyone they met, it is rarely as true as it was with Chris. He liked people and was always quick with a warm welcome. Whether it was the Missouri Cousins, Wednesday night guys, the coffee crew at Spangles, co-workers, other side-by-siders, or random strangers in public, Chris was ready to have a genuine conversation.

Chris was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, a proud member of the Plumber’s Union No. 363, and retired from Kansas Gas Service. He was a member of the Wheat State Chapter of the ATHS.

Chris was the only child of Everett Lee Neil and Alta Faye Lawrence. Chris was blessed with multiple half and step-siblings.

He met the love of his life, Sue, on Main Street through mutual friends in 1975 and married her 10 months later on June 12, 1976. Their 48 years together were filled with love and adventures. Chris and Sue had 2 daughters and later welcomed 2 sons-in-law and 7 grandkids.

As their family grew, family meals were loud and full of laughter. Those meals were the place the grandkids learned Grandpa thought they were hilarious. He would work hard to not laugh out loud, but then he would shake with laughter.

Chris had the opportunity to travel with Sue after their respective retirements, side-by-siding in South Dakota and Colorado, cruising to Alaska and driving to antique truck shows. Through the years, Chris’ trucks were driven through many miles of the hills of Missouri.

Chris was preceded in death by his father Everett Lee Neil and by his step-father George Dewey Lawrence.

Chris is survived by: his wife of 48 years Sue (Poe) Neil; 2 daughters and their husbands, Crystal and Justin Frank and Danna and Matthew Douglas; grandkids, Carson Frank (Molly Carlton), Ryker Douglas, Sienna Douglas, Crislyn Frank, Brynlee Frank, Vaughn Douglas, and Langdon Douglas. He is also survived by: his mother, Alta Faye Lawrence; stepmother, Marilyn Dean Neil; half and step-siblings; and many beloved cousins.

While it is often said that someone was loved by everyone they met, it is rarely as true as it was with Chris. He liked people and was always quick with a warm welcome. Whether it was the Missouri Cousins, Wednesday night guys, the coffee crew at Spangles, co-workers, other side-by-siders, or random strangers in public, Chris was ready to have a genuine conversation.Chris was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, a proud member of the Plumber’s Union No. 363, and retired from Kansas Gas Service. He was a member of the Wheat State Chapter of the ATHS.Chris was the only child of Everett Lee Neil and Alta Faye Lawrence. Chris was blessed with multiple half and step-siblings.He met the love of his life, Sue, on Main Street through mutual friends in 1975 and married her 10 months later on June 12, 1976. Their 48 years together were filled with love and adventures. Chris and Sue had 2 daughters and later welcomed 2 sons-in-law and 7 grandkids.As their family grew, family meals were loud and full of laughter. Those meals were the place the grandkids learned Grandpa thought they were hilarious. He would work hard to not laugh out loud, but then he would shake with laughter.Chris had the opportunity to travel with Sue after their respective retirements, side-by-siding in South Dakota and Colorado, cruising to Alaska and driving to antique truck shows. Through the years, Chris’ trucks were driven through many miles of the hills of Missouri.Chris was preceded in death by his father Everett Lee Neil and by his step-father George Dewey Lawrence.Chris is survived by: his wife of 48 years Sue (Poe) Neil; 2 daughters and their husbands, Crystal and Justin Frank and Danna and Matthew Douglas; grandkids, Carson Frank (Molly Carlton), Ryker Douglas, Sienna Douglas, Crislyn Frank, Brynlee Frank, Vaughn Douglas, and Langdon Douglas. David attend schools in Great Bend and Weatherford, OK. &nbsp;He was a long-haul trucker. &nbsp;David loved family gatherings, playing games, Christmas and animals especially cats. &nbsp;He was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by: mother, Lois (Terry) Burgess; father, Harry (Kay) Scott; sister, Tonya R. McVicar; and best friend, Justin Heistand. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Steve McVicar.

Liza Kay Walden, 47, died Saturday, December 14, 2024, peacefully at her home in Hutchinson. She was born April 4, 1977, in Hutchinson, to Donald Ray and Mary Lou (Pettay) Walden.

One of Liza’s greatest joys in life was music. She loved to sing along to her favorite singers such as, the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. Liza also enjoyed coloring, and watching her favorite shows, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, and Smallville.

To know Liza was to know an angel who everyone adored. She always had a smile on her face and you would never see her without it. Everyone she met would say Liza was the light when times were dark.

Scott Cameron Kelly, 64, died December 10, 2024, at his residence in Hutchinson. He was born March 2, 1960, in Hutchinson, to Robert Lewis and Dolores Evelyn (Kruse) Kelly.

Scott graduated from Hutchinson High School. He worked for Buhler High School for over 15 years.

His favorite hobbies were watching sports, bowling, keeping score at Fun Valley Sports Complex, helping people, but most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In 1990, he married Bonnie Beal in Hutchinson. They later divorced. She survives.

Other survivors include: his daughter, Melinda (Shawn) Voeller; sister, Robbi Harris; nieces, Rachelle and her husband Perry, Michelle, and Katie and her husband Dustin; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashlyn, Carson, and Ryker; great-nieces, Erin Kelly and Alexis LeFever; great-nephew, Hayden LeFever and bother-in-law, Roger Rash.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Kelly.

Jean A. Fraizer, 95, of Hutchinson, died peacefully December 13, 2024, at Hospice House, in Hutchinson. She was born April 20, 1929, in Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of William and Maude (Sloan) Jacob.&nbsp;

Jean graduated from Pratt High School in 1947 and attended Kansas State University. She was a loving and devoted member of Church of the Holy Cross and was a participant in the Altar Society, along with the Harvest House. Jean enjoyed reading books, working with her hands on ceramics, and knitting. She made family her biggest priority and happily doted on her husband and children. Jean will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, along with the delicious meals she prepared for them.&nbsp;

On December 28, 1951, she married the love of her life, Donald ‘Buns’ Fraizer. They shared 65 beautiful years together before his death on August 9, 2017.&nbsp;

She is survived by: her daughters, Elaine Pope of Hutchinson, Denise (David) Hilt of Fort Worth, TX; sons, Allen (Ignacio) Fraizer of Dallas, TX, Denis (Carol) Fraizer of Wichita, Gregory Fraizer of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Wilson of Hutchinson; brothers, Larry (Nancy) Jacob of Austin, TX, Jerry (Arlene) Jacob of Sterling, and Phillip (Carol) Jacob of Ottawa.

Elanor graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1954, and attended Salt City Business College. &nbsp;She worked in the secretarial science department at Hutchinson Community College, before retiring with over 15 years of service as an administrative assistant for the dental practice of Tom Brown, DDS. &nbsp;In addition, Elanor enjoyed water sports, crafts, and was very gifted at paper mache. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

On Jun 9, 1956, she married Harold E. Sellers, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He died April 22, 1975. &nbsp;She later married Richard McCoy, who also preceded her in death.

Elanor is survived by: &nbsp;son, Dr. Scott Sellers (Shelly) of Overland Park; daughter, Trisha Cooper (Craig) of Willowbrook; grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson (Charles), Tyler Sellers (Taylor), Colin Cooper (fiancée), Natasha Dearness), Mason Cooper, Callie Cooper, and Marlie Cooper; great-granddaughters, Bristol Johnson and Fiona Johnson; and brother-in-law, Gordon Harkness.

Caitlyn was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her two daughters and future husband. She was a wondering soul with a free spirit. Caitlyn was loving and accepting of all people and was willing to help others. Caitlyn recently earned her high school diploma from the ESSDACK learning center. She worked as a dietary aide at Wesley Towers starting in 2016. She was an organ donor which gave life to others upon her death. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Artimus “Wendy” C. Brayton, 84, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas. &nbsp;Wendy was born September 26, 1940, in Manila, AR, the daughter of Milford and Margaret (Porter) Davis.

On June 25, 1977, Wendy married Lester D. Brayton in Hutchinson, KS. They were married for 27 years before his passing in 2005. &nbsp;Wendy enjoyed spending time in her garden where she&nbsp;grew a large variety of flowers.

Artimus “Wendy” C. Brayton |1940-2024|

William R. ‘Bill’ Bower, 90, of Hutchinson, died peacefully on December 11, 2024, at his home. He was born November 12, 1934, in Toledo, Oregon, the son of Harold and Hazel (Powell) Bower.

Bill joined the United States Navy immediately following high school. On September 4, 1954, he married his sweetheart, Wilma Avery, in Hutchinson, KS, while serving as an aircraft mechanic at the Naval Air Station Hutchinson. They shared 70 years, building a beautiful family.

After marrying, Bill continued his Naval service while stationed at the Naval Air Facility, Oppama, Japan. Following his military service, he attended Brigham Young University on a GI Bill, where he completed a degree in Industrial Arts Education.

Bill was a middle school industrial arts and technology teacher in Oakland and later Palmdale, California. He was passionate about mentoring and guiding children of all ages. Bill was an eager Boy Scout leader bestowed with the Silver Beaver award while serving in the San Francisco Bay Council with Troop 945 for his distinguished services to his community. He was an avid tinkerer and was always fixing things. Bill enjoyed genealogy and often took summer family vacations to visit cemeteries to gather lineage information. He served as Bishop of the Hutchinson Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for a period after retiring from teaching.

Bill is survived by his wife, Wilma Bower, of the home; sons, David (Janet) Bower of Hutchinson, Allan (Liz) Bower of Concord, CA, Dan Bower of Olathe, KS; daughter, Alicia Harrison of Hutchinson; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Charles Harrison.

Memorial service will be December 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 518 E 43rd Ave, Hutchinson KS 67502.

Norma Ann “Annie” Chesnut, 70, of Haven, went to sleep December 12, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born July 22, 1954, in Beatrice, NE, to Henry R. and Loretta F. (Agena) Kress.

Ann attended Sterling High School, Sterling, NE. &nbsp;She enjoyed being a “domestic engineer”, but her favorite title was mother.

On July 28, 1983, she married Dean Chesnut, in Lincoln, NE.

Annie is survived by: &nbsp;her husband of over 41 years; three sons, Andrew Chesnut of Haven, Brent Chesnut of Wichita, and Colton Chesnut of Haven; and three brothers.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

At Annie’s request, there will be no service. &nbsp;Private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. &nbsp;

Linda Karen North, 76, formerly of Hays, died December 12, 2024, surrounded by her family at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born January 10, 1948, to Dr. Ward Leon and Edna Mabel (Beard) Sims.

Linda graduated from University High School, Lincoln, NE, in 1966 and attended Barton County Community College. She held a variety of jobs throughout her life ranging from a farm wife to working in health care to operating her own state-licensed baking business. In addition, Linda worked for the Fort Hays State Athletic Department and the Senior Companions program. She was also a cook for the Tri Sigma Sorority and later the housemother and cook for the Delta Zeta Sorority at Fort Hays.

Linda enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, encouraging others, and helping lead the After Five Club in Hays. She was a dedicated mother who attended and supported her son and daughter’s activities, even into adulthood including sporting events and mission trips. Linda cherished a special relationship with her granddaughter, Anna.

On September 30, 1967, she married Daryl Albert North in McCracken. They later divorced.

Linda is survived by: her children, Tricia North of Hutchinson and Adam (Jami) North of Galva; granddaughter, Anna North of Galva; and sisters, Cyndi (Kem) Swarts of Colorado Springs and Janet Sims of Lenexa; and Tricia’s and Adam’s father, Daryl.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Arthur Cartright North; and a sister, Donna Phillips.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at McCracken Methodist Church, 301 1st St. McCracken. &nbsp;Burial will follow in McCracken City Cemetery. &nbsp;Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary. &nbsp;The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the McCracken Methodist Church.
