Marilyn M. Post, 74, died August 11, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born on February 1, 1951, in Great Bend, to Aloysius Francis “Louie” and Elizabeth Agnes “Betty” (Ackermann) Gerritzen.

Marilyn graduated from Claflin High School in 1969 and attended Barton County Community College. She worked at Electrex, Hutchinson, assisting in wire harnessing, and later she worked at Stutzman’s and Home Depot in the greenhouse. Marilyn enjoyed life; she loved to spend time in Carey Park watching the water fountains with her dog, Sandy. Marilyn liked to read and take care of her plants and flowers.

Marilyn is survived by: her sister, Janet Weseloh of Sylvan Grove; companion of over 15 years, Steve Behrendt of Hutchinson; former husband, Jerry Post of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and beloved dog, Sandy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Sharlene (Art) Reichard, Joanne (Leon) Hamm, Carol (Floyd) Davis; and brother-in-law, Donald Weseloh.

Orville “Bud” J. Werth, 88, formerly of Hutchinson, died peacefully August 11, 2025, at his home in Wichita. He was born October 18, 1936, in Ness City to Theodore and Adelaide (Leiker) Werth. Bud lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit towards others.

A 1954 graduate of Ness City High School, Bud went on to spend more than 40 years with Dillons, where he became known for his dedication and reliability. &nbsp;Fifteen years ago, he moved to Wichita to be closer to family – a decision that brought him countless moments of joy.&nbsp;

Bud was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Betty; caring for her until her passing in 2010. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage after being wed on June 8, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned.

He was a Kansas State Wildcat fan, an enthusiastic volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Wichita, and a man who took pride in keeping a well-manicured lawn. He could often be found sitting outside his home or apartment, coffee in hand, chatting with neighbors as they passed by. Above all, Bud treasured time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Bud’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson, and, in recent years, a member of the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita. &nbsp;

Mary Emma Freeman, 102, of Wichita, formerly of Hutchinson, died August 11, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. She was born May 24, 1923, in Arma, KS, to Charles Renwick and Ella Lucille (Herron) Oyler.

Mary graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1941. She dedicated herself as a homemaker to care for her family and home. Her experience in living through the great depression impacted her discipline and ability to make ends meet. Mary was a “Rosie the Riveter” and that is where she met her first husband, Harold. After they married, she followed him to several cities in the U.S. as he trained for his military service.

In her spare time Mary enjoyed, traveling, daily walks, Jigsaw puzzles, baking, sewing, and planting her own flowers. Above all, Mary’s favorite time was spent with family and attending her children and grandkids’ sports, musical, and theatrical events. Mary loved family gatherings serving homemade ice cream and cookies. In addition, Mary felt very good about her volunteer work at Economy Corner, Wichita. She was a woman of strong faith who loved serving and worshipping at Forest Park Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson and Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

On October 25, 1942, she married Harold Fred Wade, in Hutchinson, they shared over 30 years of marriage, prior to his death on October 30, 1972. On December 27, 1983, she married John Dee Freeman, in Hutchinson, they shared over 10 years of marriage, prior to his death on February 27, 1994.

Mary is survived by: her children, Anne (Terry) Woolsey of Wichita, KS, Robert (Connie) Wade of Dayton, OH, Jeanie Wade Nagle of Iowa City, IA, and Jan (Randy) Love of La Quinta, CA; grandchildren, Carrie (Bill) Leary, Natalie (Chad) Merten, Travis (Kayla) Martin, Ben (Angie) Wade, Emilia (Brad) Deem, Lindsey (Travis) Hill, Ashley (Chris) Love-Skrabec, and Kiley (Kevin) Lester; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeri cherished spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Central Assembly of God, Wichita.

He pursued that passion by taking ownership of Unruh Alignment, later rebranding it as Morgan Service Center. Following that venture, he spent 19 years at Hunter Engineering in St. Louis, MO as a Sales Representative and Director of Training. To cap off his career in the automotive field, he founded Central Tennessee Lift &amp; Equipment LLC, in Lebanon, TN.&nbsp;

His automotive enthusiasm led him to join— and later serve as president of—the Music City Mustang Club in Tennessee. Equally passionate about music, he showcased his rich tenor voice in church choirs, vocal ensembles, and solo performances.

Byron Morgan is survived by his wife Vera Solcova Morgan; children: Keta (Brandon) Welch of Kansas, Aaron (Sarah) Morgan of Wisconsin, and Averyn Morgan of Tennessee; grandchildren: Brianna, Morgan “Finnleigh”, Levi, Lauren, and Aiden; and sisters: Linda Morgan-Clark of Oklahoma and Roseann Dvorak of Idaho. Alice Carole Henderson, 79, died August 9, 2025, at Bethesda Home, Goessel. She was born March 21, 1946, in Dallas, TX, to Jack and Myrtis Evangeline (Mason) VanZandt, Sr.&nbsp;

Alice worked as an executive assistant for Southland Life Insurance and was a homemaker. &nbsp;She volunteered for the Reno County Food Bank, assisted teenagers needing help, and was always trying new and unique recipes. &nbsp;Alice was a devoted caregiver to her son, Tim. &nbsp;She was a member of Park Place Christian Church, where she took part in the Women’s Bible Study.&nbsp;

On December 28, 1979, she married John Mark Henderson, in Dallas, TX. &nbsp;He died September 21, 1997.

Alice is survived by: &nbsp;sons, Scott Henderson (Natasha) of Amarillo, TX and Tim Henderson of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brooke Henderson and Bryant Henderson; and sister, Mary Sutton (Ance) of Dallas, TX.

She was born March 21, 1946, in Dallas, TX, to Jack and Myrtis Evangeline (Mason) VanZandt, Sr.&nbsp;Alice worked as an executive assistant for Southland Life Insurance and was a homemaker. &nbsp;She volunteered for the Reno County Food Bank, assisted teenagers needing help, and was always trying new and unique recipes. &nbsp;Alice was a devoted caregiver to her son, Tim. &nbsp;She was a member of Park Place Christian Church, where she took part in the Women’s Bible Study.&nbsp;On December 28, 1979, she married John Mark Henderson, in Dallas, TX. &nbsp;He died September 21, 1997.Alice is survived by: &nbsp;sons, Scott Henderson (Natasha) of Amarillo, TX and Tim Henderson of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brooke Henderson and Bryant Henderson; and sister, Mary Sutton (Ance) of Dallas, TX.She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents and brothers, Thomas VanZandt, Jack VanZandt, Jr., and Gerald VanZandt.&nbsp;Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Park Place Christian Church, 2600 N. Born to Nicholas and Toni Short, Nikki was a devoted daughter, a loving wife to Wayne Keller, and a proud mother to her four children: Shanda Garrett, Tresnie Stoll (Matt), Tayah Short, and Timothy Tracy. She had six grandchildren — Dylan, Deon, and Davon Garrett; Lillyann, Aubrey, and Messiah Stoll.

She is also survived by her mother, Toni Short; siblings Robert, William, Charles, and Katie; and many nieces and nephews.

&nbsp;Her presence brought light and laughter to every gathering, and her memory will be treasured by all who&nbsp; knew her.&nbsp;

Alice Ione Colton, 96, of Colwich, died August 8, 2025, at Colwich Gardens. She was born May 29, 1929, in Wells, Kansas, to Fred and Ada (Matson) Harder. &nbsp;

On December 27, 1953, she married Max Colton in Wells, Kansas. They shared 51 years of marriage before his death on April 3, 2005.&nbsp;

Alice obtained her teaching degree from Kansas State University and was lovingly named “Grandma K-State.” She was a proud homemaker who was an ever-present force in her eight children’s lives. Alice opened her home to others when she started babysitting for children with special needs. She was an animal lover with a big heart for horses and dogs. Alice enjoyed music and often played the piano for her family. She was a very competitive person who loved to play and win at Rummy, Chinese Checkers, Scrabble, King on the Corner, and many other games. Alice was a proud member of the Pretty Prairie Saddle Club. &nbsp;

Alice is survived by: children, Tanya Graber (Mike Schlatter) of Hutchinson, Tim (Debbie) Colton of Coatsville, MO, Terry (Tammy) Colton of Walton, KY; Tamra Colton (Kyle Newton) of South Hutchinson, and Tina Colton-McMillian (Max McMillian) of Mount Hope; brothers, Asel (Joanne) Harder of Garden City and Stan (Marlene) Harder of Topeka; daughter-in-law, Luetta Colton of Yoder; many beloved grandchildren; many great and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

Ruby Pearl Jacques, 100, of Hutchinson, went home to be with her Lord on August 10, 2025, at Pleasant Hills. She was born March 9, 1925, in Hutchinson, to Henry E. and Minnie C. (Luginbill) Smith.

Ruby graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943. Her parents were the founders and original owners of Smith’s Market in Hutchinson. Ruby was a devoted farm wife and mother and loved to bake and raise flowers. She was active in the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and helped with the pies at their café at the Kansas State Fair for many years. Ruby also enjoyed camping and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

On November 5, 1944, she married Robert L. Jacques in South Hutchinson. He died September 10, 2008.

Ruby is survived by: her sons, Gary Jacques (Cindy) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Tom Jacques of Bozeman, MT, Ron Jacques (Vickie) of Hutchinson, Mark Jacques (Sharon) of Rensselaer, IN, Troy Jacques (Lisa) of Hutchinson; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Barbara Joan Magby, 88, died August 7, 2025, at her home in Burrton. She was born on June 30, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Andrew and Anna May (Sturgeon) Fisher.

Barbara graduated, as the valedictorian of her class, from Hutchinson High School in 1955. She worked as a roller-skating carhop at B &amp; D Drive-In throughout high school. Barbara worked in assembly for both Mid Continent Cabinetry and Hehr Glass Company, Newton. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Kanopolis, Cheney and Wilson Lakes with her husband and family. Barbara liked tending to her vegetable and flower garden and playing bingo. She attended SaltCity Cowboy Church, South Hutchinson.

On January 12, 1956, Barbara married Glen Edward Magby, in Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Barbara is survived by: husband of over 69 years, Glen Magby, of Burrton; children, Jeff Magby of Hutchinson, Stacey (Shawn) White of McPherson, Julie (Randy) Flickinger of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Francis Fisher Sr. of Lakeland, FL.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Andrew and Anna May Fisher; sisters, Virginia Bowman and Stella Ban; brothers, Gary Fisher and Dean Fisher; and one great-grandchild.

Randy Dion Eisenbarth, 61, of Hutchinson, died August 7, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1964, in Seneca, to Clyde C. and Dorothy M. (Lichter) Eisenbarth.

Randy graduated from Centralia High School, Kansas State University Salina, and Friends University in Wichita. &nbsp;He worked as a mechanical engineer at Master Machine Tools Inc. in South Hutchinson for 10 years. Then, worked at American Maplan Corporation in McPherson for 20 years. Randy was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson. He enjoyed golfing, reading, and homemade sweets made by Jeanne. Most of all, Randy loved watching his children’s school and sports activities.

On June 24, 1989, Randy married Jeanne M. Porting, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Axtell. She survives.

Also surviving are: his children, Nathan Eisenbarth (Courtney) of Roeland Park, Rachel Eisenbarth of Wichita; siblings, John Eisenbarth, Tim Eisenbarth (Sarah), Annette Schreiber (Gary), all of Soldier, Jesse Eisenbarth (Jeanette) of Onaga; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Eric; and beloved Toy Poodle, Sandy.

Randy D. Eisenbarth |1964-2025|

Richard Wayne Livingston, a long-time Hutchinson resident, died Thursday, August 7, 2025, at The Wesley’s Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was 95.

Wayne was a devoted husband and father, and throughout his life had been active in the community where his positive, outgoing nature and willingness to serve was appreciated by friends, colleagues, and everyone he met. &nbsp;

He was born October 22, 1929, at Salina, Kansas, son of Cecil Erle Livingston and Frances Swegle Livingston Paine.

Wayne graduated from Hutchinson High School, president of the class of 1947. He attended the University of Kansas, interrupted briefly by his military enlistment in the Army Air Force, and graduated in 1953. Wayne was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity while at KU. &nbsp;He later served in the Kansas Air National Guard for several years.

After college graduation, Wayne married Doris Elaine Greenbank on June 7, 1953, at First Methodist Church in El Dorado. They lived in both Hutchinson and briefly in Wichita while starting their family. Wayne managed Acme Quality Paints in both Hutchinson and Wichita until 1965. He and his family moved to El Dorado where he joined his father-in-law, James Greenbank, in the newspaper and publishing business. &nbsp;He was publisher of The Butler County News, President of Traf-O-Teria System, Inc., and owner of Butler County Printing, working together with his wife, Doris, until he retired in 1989. &nbsp;

While living in El Dorado, Wayne was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club (serving a term as President for both organizations), served on the Butler County Community College Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors for Bank IV Butler County, and supported the El Dorado Centennial celebration. He was awarded the Liberty Bell Prize by the Butler County Bar Association.

After retiring, Wayne and Doris returned to Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1989, where they enjoyed their friends and community activities, and took 6 overseas bicycling vacations during the 1990s. Other than his years living in El Dorado, Wayne was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;

He is survived by his three children, Jan Elaine Livingston, the Reverend Dr. Sue Ann Nilson Kibbey (Columbus, OH), and Robert Alan Livingston M.D. (Downingtown, PA); six granddaughters; and numerous great-grandchildren. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald G. Livingston, and wife Doris (died September 2020). Wayne and Doris were married for 67 years.

Wayne’s ashes will be inurned alongside those of Doris at Trinity UMC’s columbarium in Hutchinson. The family will hold a small private service at a later date, in keeping with Wayne’s preference.

He was 95.Wayne was a devoted husband and father, and throughout his life had been active in the community where his positive, outgoing nature and willingness to serve was appreciated by friends, colleagues, and everyone he met. &nbsp;He was born October 22, 1929, at Salina, Kansas, son of Cecil Erle Livingston and Frances Swegle Livingston Paine.Wayne graduated from Hutchinson High School, president of the class of 1947. He attended the University of Kansas, interrupted briefly by his military enlistment in the Army Air Force, and graduated in 1953. Wayne was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity while at KU. &nbsp;He later served in the Kansas Air National Guard for several years.After college graduation, Wayne married Doris Elaine Greenbank on June 7, 1953, at First Methodist Church in El Dorado. They lived in both Hutchinson and briefly in Wichita while starting their family. Wayne managed Acme Quality Paints in both Hutchinson and Wichita until 1965. He and his family moved to El Dorado where he joined his father-in-law, James Greenbank, in the newspaper and publishing business. &nbsp;He was publisher of The Butler County News, President of Traf-O-Teria System, Inc., and owner of Butler County Printing, working together with his wife, Doris, until he retired in 1989. &nbsp;While living in El Dorado, Wayne was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club (serving a term as President for both organizations), served on the Butler County Community College Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors for Bank IV Butler County, and supported the El Dorado Centennial celebration. He was awarded the Liberty Bell Prize by the Butler County Bar Association.After retiring, Wayne and Doris returned to Hutchinson, Kansas, in 1989, where they enjoyed their friends and community activities, and took 6 overseas bicycling vacations during the 1990s. Other than his years living in El Dorado, Wayne was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He is survived by his three children, Jan Elaine Livingston, the Reverend Dr. Sue Ann Nilson Kibbey (Columbus, OH), and Robert Alan Livingston M.D. (Downingtown, PA); six granddaughters; and numerous great-grandchildren. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald G. Livingston, and wife Doris (died September 2020). Wayne and Doris were married for 67 years.Wayne’s ashes will be inurned alongside those of Doris at Trinity UMC’s columbarium in Hutchinson. Betty Ann Hoefer, 95, died Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at The Wesley, Hutchinson. She was born July 31, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Paul William and Mary Ellen (Northrup) Lindblade.

Betty graduated from Parker High School, Chicago, IL, in 1948. She went on to work as a secretary for Hutchinson Bag Corporation (Hubco Inc.) up until her retirement.

In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to audiobooks and local news and sports on the radio. Betty was the queen of talking on the phone with family and friends every day, she was the one to call for a good conversation. Nothing could ever beat her passion for traveling, seeking new experiences and adventures filled her soul with joy. Betty was truly the most positive person anyone could ever hope to meet, and her generosity was very admirable.

On January 3, 1953, she married Stanley “Stan” Harold Hoefer, in Hutchinson. They shared over 63 years of marriage, prior to his death on October 1, 2016.

Betty is survived by: her children, Sandra (Don) Erickson of Buhler, Gary (Jane) Hoefer of Hutchinson, and Greg Hoefer of El Dorado; grandchildren, Ryan (Becky) Erickson, Paul (Tasha) Erickson, Eric Hoefer, Thomas (Sandra) Hoefer, and Stacy (Todd) Webb; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Reece, Stelli, and Cora Erickson, Tucker, Tailynn, Teagan, and Valerie Hoefer, Dexter and Harry Webb. &nbsp;

Robert L. “Bobby” Deck, 66, of Hutchinson, died August 2, 2025, at Hospice House. He was born December 17, 1958, in Liberal, Kansas, to Earl and Margaret (Ebeling) Deck.&nbsp;

On April 9, 1988, Bobby married Thaylia Cline at Zion Lutheran Church. They shared 37 beautiful years of marriage before his death.&nbsp;

Bobby graduated from Stockton High School in Missouri and attended vocational welding school. After he was certified, Bobby worked as a welder in many places and spent over 22 years working for Dan Dee Air. He possessed a natural talent for working with his hands and had a passion for creating and restoring things.&nbsp;

Bobby had a love for spending time in the solitude of fishing. Also, he loved auto racing and spent time traveling to go to NASCAR events and the Indianapolis 500. Bobby had an undeniable gift for grilling and smoking meats. He fabricated his own meat smoker, expertly welded components together to make “Big Blue,” which he used to smoked various types of meat for family and friends.&nbsp;

Bobby is survived by: his beloved wife, Thaylia Deck of Hutchinson; sister, Carol (Lowell) Mellenbruch of Hutchinson; Keith (Allen) Deck of Wichita; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Carla Sue Wright and Patricia “Patty” Deck.

Thomas D. (Tom) Barclay, 90, died August 3, 2025 at The Wesley in Hutchinson, KS. He was born June 5, 1935 in Hutchinson, the son of Thomas R. and Bonnie Beatrice (Rank) Barclay.

He attended Arlington Public schools and was a life time resident of Arlington and Reno County. He retired from Cessna/Eaton as a production machinist and was an operator for Arlington Township. Tom provided welding services throughout the community, and many knew him through that.

Tom was one of the founding members of the Kansas Antique Racers, and wrote and edited their newsletter for many years. Tom’s #17 Champ car is currently on display at the Belleville High Banks HOF Museum in Belleville, KS. He was also a member of the Colorado Vintage Oval Racers.

On September 16, 1955 he married Lola Mae Heinrich Barclay, who still lives in Hutchinson. and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary in a few weeks. Other survivors include two daughters, Sheryl Ann Barclay, Hutchinson, KS, Bonnie Mae Barclay, and husband, Lem Meador in Peachtree Corners, GA and one grandson Cale Oliver Meador of Gleason, TN. Even though Tom was an only child, he was loved and cared for by Lola’s extended family throughout the years.

Virginia “Ginger” Mayfield, age 73, of Hutchinson, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on August 2, 2025. &nbsp;Born in 1951, in Hutchinson, Ginger was an artist and lifelong learner.

After graduating from Hutchinson High School (class of 1969), she achieved a Liberal Art degree at Monticello College, a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Fine Art from Wichita State University. Each summer Ginger continued to earn graduate level college credits through Adams State College by participating in the Taos Watercolor Workshops held each year in Taos, New Mexico.

The life she lived was one of joy and creativity. Ginger’s paintings are celebrations of vibrant colors which matched her personality. She shared her talents as an art teacher in Kansas, influencing generations of students at Hutchinson High School, where Ginger was a beloved art instructor for over thirty years.

She is survived by: her husband of thirty years, George “Bill” Forst; brother, Bill (Sarah); sister Janet (Randy); sister-in-law, Kathy; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Martin Mayfield, and brothers, Larry and Rick.

Ryan Christopher Swanson, 56, died August 2, 2025, at Hospice House, surrounded by his wife and four sons. &nbsp;He was born January 19, 1969, in Merriam, to Abbie Blevins. Ryan was lovingly adopted by Rex and Vicky Howell. &nbsp;After Rex died, Vicky married Robert “Swanee” Swanson, and he adopted Ryan.&nbsp;

Ryan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1987, and attended Hutchinson Community College (HCC) and Kansas State University, where he graduated in 1991. &nbsp;

From a very young age, Ryan was a gifted athlete with a special love for the game of basketball. &nbsp;He played basketball for Hutchinson High School as well as HCC. &nbsp;In 1988, he helped the HCC Blue Dragons win the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament. &nbsp;After graduating from K-State, Ryan began his career coaching men’s basketball teams at various colleges, including Kentucky, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Garden City. &nbsp;From 2006-2009, he coached the Hutchinson Blue Dragons and from 2015-2022, the Buhler High School Crusaders. &nbsp;Throughout his coaching career, Ryan made thousands of connections with coaches, athletes, families, and the media, leaving an impact on everyone he ever met. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Currently, Ryan owned Phoenix Restoration and Phoenix Roofing, with his wife, Robin. &nbsp;He was a member and avid golfer at Prairie Dunes Country Club. &nbsp;Ryan enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends especially on vacations, with trips to Las Vegas being one of his favorite get-aways. He had a fondness for all dogs, but especially his own four-legged pals- Willow, Maverick, Chief, Cali, Harley, and Stella. &nbsp;In addition, Ryan’s grand-dogs- B, Remi, Goose, Hank, Bentley, and Milo, held a special place in his heart. &nbsp;Above all, Ryan loved his family unconditionally, and was always there for them in the peaks and valleys of life. &nbsp;Ryan was proud to be a father, and proved blood does not make you a father, true love and devotion does.&nbsp;

On October 3, 2010, he married the love of his life, Robin Raye Griffey, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.&nbsp;

Ryan is survived by: &nbsp;his wife, Robin of Buhler; sons, Chase Swanson (Taylor) of Wichita, Carson Schoenhoff (Makenzie) of Overland Park, Cayden Schoenhoff of Manhattan, and Codi Schoenhoff of Buhler; mother, Vicky Swanson of Hutchinson; sisters, Amy Waggoner of Hutchinson and Karla Reed (Timothy) of Berryton, KS; his biological mother, Abbie Call (Jerry); half-brother, Shea Call (Allison); half-sister, Kristin Call; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.&nbsp;

Ryan was lovingly adopted by Rex and Vicky Howell. &nbsp;After Rex died, Vicky married Robert “Swanee” Swanson, and he adopted Ryan.&nbsp;Ryan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1987, and attended Hutchinson Community College (HCC) and Kansas State University, where he graduated in 1991. &nbsp;From a very young age, Ryan was a gifted athlete with a special love for the game of basketball. &nbsp;He played basketball for Hutchinson High School as well as HCC. &nbsp;In 1988, he helped the HCC Blue Dragons win the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament. &nbsp;After graduating from K-State, Ryan began his career coaching men’s basketball teams at various colleges, including Kentucky, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Garden City. &nbsp;From 2006-2009, he coached the Hutchinson Blue Dragons and from 2015-2022, the Buhler High School Crusaders. &nbsp;Throughout his coaching career, Ryan made thousands of connections with coaches, athletes, families, and the media, leaving an impact on everyone he ever met. &nbsp;&nbsp;Currently, Ryan owned Phoenix Restoration and Phoenix Roofing, with his wife, Robin. &nbsp;He was a member and avid golfer at Prairie Dunes Country Club. &nbsp;Ryan enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends especially on vacations, with trips to Las Vegas being one of his favorite get-aways. He had a fondness for all dogs, but especially his own four-legged pals- Willow, Maverick, Chief, Cali, Harley, and Stella. &nbsp;In addition, Ryan’s grand-dogs- B, Remi, Goose, Hank, Bentley, and Milo, held a special place in his heart. &nbsp;Above all, Ryan loved his family unconditionally, and was always there for them in the peaks and valleys of life. &nbsp;Ryan was proud to be a father, and proved blood does not make you a father, true love and devotion does.&nbsp;On October 3, 2010, he married the love of his life, Robin Raye Griffey, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.&nbsp;Ryan is survived by: &nbsp;his wife, Robin of Buhler; sons, Chase Swanson (Taylor) of Wichita, Carson Schoenhoff (Makenzie) of Overland Park, Cayden Schoenhoff of Manhattan, and Codi Schoenhoff of Buhler; mother, Vicky Swanson of Hutchinson; sisters, Amy Waggoner of Hutchinson and Karla Reed (Timothy) of Berryton, KS; his biological mother, Abbie Call (Jerry); half-brother, Shea Call (Allison); half-sister, Kristin Call; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his fathers, Rex Howell and Robert “Swanee” Swanson; brother-in-law, George Waggoner; nephew, Carl Waggoner; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Ray Griffey.Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, 700 E. 11th Avenue, Hutchinson. Sean A. Ray, 40, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on July 30, 2025. &nbsp;He was born June 13, 1985 in Houston, TX, to Todd and Susan (Jordan) Ray.

Sean graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2003. &nbsp;While he was in high school, Sean’s love for travel developed. &nbsp;He graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture in 2008. &nbsp;One semester was spent at the University of Western Australia. &nbsp;He worked for Clark + Enerson for 15 years starting in Lincoln, NE, before moving to Kansas City. &nbsp;He worked for Kimley-Horn at the time of his passing. &nbsp;

One of Sean’s goals was to travel to 40 countries by the time he was 40. &nbsp;In June for his birthday, he ticked off #40 and 41 ending on the island of Mykonos with his Kansas City “chosen family” friends. &nbsp;He relished playing what his family called the credit card game to get free flight miles and hotel points. &nbsp;Sean rarely flew coach or paid for a hotel while maintaining a high credit rating! &nbsp;He was already booked next year for Guatemala and Kenya.

He is survived by his: parents; brothers, Ian (Jessica) Ray of Hutchinson and Graham (Ursula Rothrock) Ray of Los Angeles, California; loving adored nieces, Elliott, Emerson and baby Joan; aunts, uncles and cousins as well has his wide, wide circle of “chosen family” and friends.

Sean was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Carl Thomas (Tom) Harris, Jr., 75, of Buhler, died July 29, 2025, at his home. Tom was born November 16, 1949, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, to Carl T. Harris, Sr. and Anna Gross.&nbsp;

Tom proudly served in the United States Air National Guard and was stationed at Rickenbacker Air Force Base where he worked on KC-135 stratotankers. He was a private man with a large heart who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Tom had an immense love for the music of his youth. He frequently loved to listen to his favorite artists, which were Arlo Guthrie, Harry Chapin and Janis Joplin. He passed this love of music to his grandchildren.

On December 19, 1975, he married Tina Frazier, in Newport, Kentucky. They shared 45 beautiful years of marriage before Tina’s death on May 29, 2021.&nbsp;

Tom is survived by: his sons, Rob (Alicia) Shircliff of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert (Victoria) Graf of Hutchinson, and Zach (Keriann) Harris of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; sister, Sharon Sanders (Michael Hart) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and grandchildren, Kailee, Max, Emma, Carly, Noah, Austin, Ellie, Allison, Zeke, and McKenzie.&nbsp;

Roger Eugene Syring, 77, of Alta Vista, KS, died July 30, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, in Kansas City, KS. He was born September 14, 1947, in Junction City, KS, to Wilmar E. and Hazel H. (Johnson) Syring.

Roger graduated from Alta Vista High School and attended Friends University in Wichita, KS. He worked as a civil servant in the Operations and Maintenance Division at Fort Riley for 30 years before retiring. Roger enjoyed reading, singing, fishing, and gardening, but most of all he loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sports, school, and church activities. Roger was a member of High View Church in Alta Vista and his love of Jesus led him to serve in many ministries, including the Encounter Ministry.

On November 6, 1971, he married Nedra E. Cramer, in Wichita. They shared nearly 54 years of marriage before his passing.

Roger is survived by: his wife, Nedra, of the home; daughters, Darcy Rhoades (Rion) of Hutchinson, KS, Brier Kormanik (Ben) of Alta Vista, KS, Morgan Tiffany (Shane) of Allen, KS, Talle Syring (Astin Haggerty) of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Sydney Winslow (Bryce), Trevor Rhoades, Jackson Rhoades, all of Hutchinson, Eli Kormanik, Jude Kormanik, Chloe Kormanik, Asher Kormanik, all of Alta Vista, Colton Tiffany (Harley), Grady Tiffany (Teagan), Josie Tiffany, all of Allen; great-granddaughter, Sarah Tiffany of Allen; and brother, Garold Syring (Deloris) of Washington, KS.

Steven Ray Zahn, 71, passed away on July 30, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on May 16, 1954, in Hutchinson, KS to Edward Otto and Charlene (DeVaney) Zahn

Steven graduated from Buhler High School. He worked for Sonoco Hutchinson Paper Mill and retired after 47 years. On August 30, 1975, Steven married Kathy J. Smith in Hutchinson, KS. They spent 48 years together before her passing in 2023. Steven enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and was an Eagle Scout.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy Zahn; brother, Kerry D. Zahn; and grandparents, Otto C. and Cleo Zahn.
