BREAKING: Former Hutchinson police officer arrested in sexual assault charges

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man has been arrested on charges of 24 different counts including rape, kidnapping and sexual battery.

A press conference is being held in regard to former Hutchinson police officer Todd Wade Allen, who was booked into the Reno County Correctional Facility on a bond of $250,000.

The charges filed with the Reno County District Attorney include five counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping, nine counts of aggravated sexual battery and five counts of breach of privacy.

The arrest is connected to a string of sexual assaults and prowler calls including several sexual assaults in Carey Park. According to Chief Jeff Hooper, the attacks happened while Allen was with the force.
