HUTCHINSON, Kan.: (Transcript from KWBW Sports) 7:10 am on BW Radio, time to turn to sports. A couple of a 20 plus point efforts by Grady Dick and Jalen Wilson did not end up in being enough. As #17, Baylor stretched it's big 12 best winning streak to five and get a 75-69 win over KU in a matchup of the last two national champions The reigning champion Jayhawks lost their third straight. It's only the fourth, three game losing streak in coach Bill Self's 20 seasons. Freshman Grady Dick had a game high 24. Jalen Wilson 23. Kevin McCullough Jr 14 points 12 boards for his fifth double-double of the season. Right now, the Jayhawks have no answers.

Senior K.A. Johnson, earning at Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors for the first time this season after averaging a near 20 and 10 double-double and helping K-State to a pair of wins over KU and Texas Tech.

Johnson's fourth Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. Accolades are the most since Michael Beasley won a school record eight back in the 2007 and eight season. K-State returns to action tonight. Wildcats travel to take on Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum. That's on the ESPNU and gets underway at 8pm.

Another accolade for Wichita State's, Jaquan Walton. He has been named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll.  The 6"7 Junior averaged 16 points over two games while shooting about 64% from the field quickly on a roll appearance for Walton and the American Athletic.

Top 25 basketball poll Purdue @1 , followed by Alabama. Kansas was fifth. They'll fall again. Or excuse me, K-State is fifth. Kansas is ninth. They'll fall. Texas is ten. TCU 11. Iowa State 12. Baylor. Number 17. 11.

11 and O  Hutchinson Salthawks are on the road tonight. A stand alone game as they'll take on derby are pregame for that starts at 7:15 with Glen Greenwald and Dan Naccarato right here on BW Radio.

Royals announcing that they have acquired left handed pitcher Evan Sisk and right handed pitcher Steven Cruz from Minnesota for outfielder Michael Taylor. In 50 appearances between Wichita and triple-A Saint Paul in 2022, Sisk, who's 25, went five and one with a 1.57 era and 76 strikeouts. Cruz, 23 six foot six, recorded four, saves 72 strikeouts and a career high, 56 innings across 46 appearances at Double-A, Wichita. Taylor will turn 32 before opening day. He has hit 249 with 21 home runs in two seasons for Kansas City.

Chiefs have waived defensive back Chris Lemons, a key special team contributor from their active roster. That means that either Jody Fortson or running back Clyde Edwards-Hilair, a player who have been on the injured reserve list, could be one of those activated for the AFC Championship game this Sunday.

That's sports on BW.
