RENO COUNTY — The Reno County Planning Commission will meet Thursday to discuss one zoning case and do more work on the commercial solar regulations.
The zoning case is a request by Jack Redman to vacate a portion of a 40-foot easement for future road and utilities located on Lot 6, Block 1 of Rolling Dunes Subdivision. The address of the property is 803 E. Rolling Dunes Road.
Public comments will be allowed on that zoning case.
The Planning Commission will also continue its work on potential text amendments to the county's Zoning Regulations regarding commercial solar development.
No public comment on the regulations was taken at the April 20 meeting, as it took them more than two hours just to read through and discuss the first draft provided by staff and make some initial edits. No public comment on that topic was taken at the May 18 or June 15 or July 20 meetings or will be taken on Aug. 17. Once a final draft is ready for discussion, notice will be given so the public can comment on the proposal.
Any comments on the draft regulations should be sent to Mark Vonachen, County Planner II, by email at [email protected] or by mail to the Reno County Public Works Department, 600 Scott Boulevard, South Hutchinson, KS 67505.
The Reno County Planning Commission meets Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Reno County Public Works office at 600 Scott Boulevard in South Hutchinson.
