Barely took an hour to play. As the Salt Hawks moved to nine and zero, Terrell King led the way with 10. Wade Meyer 7. A plethora of players got into the lineup for that game. Salt Hawks now play Junction City today at 2:30 pm. Our pregame starts at 2:15 with Glen Grunwald here on BW Radio Sports.

Elsewhere Berean Academy one over Fairfield 43-42 Inman beat Central Christian 61-14 Salina Central over Butler 66-43 and Kingman a winner over Trinity Catholic 64-63 in overtime.

Just one area girl's team playing yesterday. Buhler girls get pounded by Salina Central 52-20.

DeAndre Williams 29 points as he helped Memphis beat Wichita State 88-78. In Memphis, James Rojas, the former Blue Dragon, led the Shockers, who now dropped to 9 and 9, finish with 19 points. Wichita State got 15 from Jaquan Walton. Craig Porter Jr had 11 points and 6 assists more shockers play Sunday on the road at SMU.

Kansas Jalen Wilson and Grady Dick have been named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy mid-season watch list. The U.S. Basketball Writers of America announcing yesterday Kansas, one of six schools with multiple players on the 50 listed.

Former Maize High quarterback and future K-State Wildcat Avery Johnson has announced his first major NIL deal. Johnson revealed that he has an agreement with Robbins Motor Company, which is a car dealership with locations in Manhattan, Junction City, Topeka, the Flint Hills and surrounding areas in central Kansas. Johnson has a NIL valuation of 237,000, which is the 27th best valuation among high school football players in the 2023 class.

Seven time All-Star Aroldis Chapman headed to the Royals. MLB.com reports that Chapman and the Royals agreed to terms on a one year $3.75 million contract. Left handed reliever was foreign for nine saves in ERA a 4.46 in 43 relief appearances last year, with New York.

Royals coming off a 97 lost season when search announcing Ramone Borrego will return for his third season as a manager this spring as he led the club to a best record in the Texas League in 2021 and 2022.
