The WSU Women recorded in a 105-38 win over South Carolina State in the final non-conference matchup of the season Tuesday night at the Roundhouse. Now 10 and 3 Wichita State's 67 point win marked the largest margin of victory in school history, beating a 1981 record versus Phillips. The Shockers fell two point shy in school record for most points in a game. 28 assists on 38 made field goals, 60% shooting from the field. You're going to win pretty much every game coming out if you shoot like that. And shooting lights out were the shocker women last night.
Give me the Liberty Bowl and give me the Jayhawks. KU playing in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl today for the first time since the 2008 season. KU playing Arkansas 4:30 pm central is kick off time on ESPN. Both teams battling for a winning season in the rights to the Bell Trophy.
The meeting between Kansas and Arkansas will be the third in their series history back to 1905. KU won both meetings in 1905 and 1906. This is the 13th bowl game in KU history. They are 6 and 6in bowl games.
Of course, longtime HutchCC fans will know Arkansas coach Sam Pittman coached the Blue Dragons back in the nineties.
The Wichita State Men begin conference play tonight as their AAC slate begins with a game against central Florida in Florida. It's a 6 pm central 7 pm eastern at tip. UCF, departing of course, for the Big 12, after this season the shocker men are 7 and 5 coming into tonight and posted a winning non-conference record for the 25th consecutive year but had a whole lot of close game problems. They were one in 3 in games decided by five points in either direction.
