HUTCHINSON, Kan. —At a pretrial conference on March 24, Nathan Leon Plum, Hutchinson, waived his right to speedy trial and is set go before a jury on June 13.

Pretrial is set for June 12.

Plum was arrested in February 2022 and booked into the Reno County Jail on charges related to a 2021 shooting.

According to Hutchinson Police Captain Dustin Loepp, Plum was arrested on a warrant from a shooting that occurred in Dec. 2, 2021.

A 38-year-old male was contacted near the alley behind 322 E. 2nd Ave. with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was treated medically and survived.

Plum is alleged to have fled Kansas. He was eventually taken into custody on unrelated charges in Oklahoma.

He had other legal obligations before he could be extradited to Kansas, which extended time to trial for the events of December 2021.
