HUTCHINSON, Kan.: (Transcript from KWBW Sports) 8:10am on BW Radio, time to turn to sports. A lot of high school basketball last night. We'll start with Salthawk Boys, heard here on BW Radio. Hutchinson wins 61-46 remain unbeaten on the year. Garrett Robertson continues his stellar season. He paced the way with 21.

Mulvane gets by Buhler 50-47. Nickerson beat Halstead 61-52. Haven blows out Hoisington 49-25. They're also unbeaten. It was Trinity Catholic over Inman 62-37. Stafford Downs Fairfield 62-47. Central Christian a winner over Attica 46-37. From Boys Action last night

On the girls side. Hutch stays unbeaten as Grace Posch had 12. Hutchinson beats Maizes 39-20. Buhler falls to Mulvane 26-23. Halstead falls to Nickerson 50-45. It was the Haven girls beating Hoisington 37-32. Inman pounds. Trinity 49-14. Fairfield a winner over Stafford. They're having a great season, winning 65-6. Central Christian gets a big win over Attica 45-42.

K.J. Adams scored a career high, 22 points. #2 Kansas closes the game on an 18 to 4 run to beat Oklahoma 79-75 at Allen Field House. Jayhawks 15-1 got 17 from Jalen Wilson. 11 from Dajuan Harris, 10 for Zach Clements.

Senior Marquese Nowell continued his impressive play with a team high 20 points and 7 assists. K-State wins their first game as a ranked team in nearly four seasons. Final was 65-57. K-State beats Oklahoma State. It was a sellout crowd of 11,000 at Bramlett for the second time this season.

HuthCC Redshirt freshman guard Aaron Franklin named the Jayhawk Conference Division 1 basketball player of the Week. The 6'6" guard from Kansas City, Missouri, averaged a double-double 24 points, 12 rebounds a game, shot 49% from the field. Dragons off today. They'll travel to Garden on Saturday.

Wyatt Thompson, who's in the midst of his 21st season as Voice of the Wildcats, has been named the 2022 Kansas sportscaster of the year for the seventh time in his career. Following an announcement by the National Sports Media Association.  He'll be honored in June in North Carolina.

The National Baseball Congress announcing yesterday that the entirety of the NBC World Series will be played at Wichita State's stadium in the summer of 2023 and 24. The tournament will be held this year from August 3rd through 12th. Last year, Stadium hosted the tournament along with Hobart-Detter in Hutchinson. Tournament has not been hosted at a single site since Lawrence Dumont stadiums last year in existence 2018. This will be the 89th annual version of that event.

Wichita Wind surge has announced new lower prices for the 2023 season. If you bought higher priced tickets and plans, you'll get a credit. The news follows a controversy over the team adding an 8% fee ahead of the 2022 season. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office Consumer Protection Division issued a cease and desist letter, and the win surge ended the practice and gave the funds to charity. That did not go over well with a lot of folks here in this area. They've got to win back the trust now of the public.
