Awards for the 2021 NJCAA National Champion Hutchinson Community College men’s golf team continue to roll in as three members of the championship were recognized this week as the Golf Coaches’ Association of America PING All-Americans.

Blue Dragon freshmen Ben Partridge and Harry Crockett – the 2021 NJCAA individual national champion and national runner-up, respectively – were named PING first-team All-Americans. Third-year sophomore Charlie Crockett will go down as a three-time PING junior college All-American with his inclusion on the 2021 PING second team.

Those three players, along with Cameron Rios-Ceballos and Trey McCrae, won Hutchinson’s first men’s golf team national title in program history on May 13 in Lubbock, Texas.

The trio of Blue Dragons became the 9th, 10th and 11th PING All-Americans in program history – Grady Pauls (2007), Nicky Maddison (2009), Dale Middleton (2010), Mike Mueller (2012), Lewis Schenk (2015), Charlie Crockett (2019, 2020) and Nathan McCollough (2020).

Partridge and both Crocketts were also named NJCAA District III first-team All-District for this season.

The freshman from London has already been named an NJCAA first-team All-American and the Jack Nicklaus NJCAA Division I Player of the Year for his extraordinary season.

Partridge had a season stroke average of 71.2 over 29 rounds played over the combined fall and spring seasons. Over the final three tournaments in 2021 – the KJCCC Championship, District III/Region VI and the NJCAA Championship – Partridge averaged 70.8 strokes per round with 7 of 10 rounds shot under par.

In addition to winning the NJCAA Individual title, Partridge won the NJCAA National Preview, also at The Rawls Course in Lubbock – site of the 2021 national championships. He was Jayhawk Conference regular-season co-champion with teammate Charlie Crockett.

Partridge had two tournament titles, six Top-3 finishes and placed in the Top 10 in 9 of 10 total tournaments this season.

To win the NJCAA individual crown, Partridge shot a 1-under 71 in the final round to force a tie with Harry Crockett. Partridge then won a four-hole playoff to earn the individual title.

Harry Crockett, a freshman from Oxted, England, earned two individual tournament championships this season – the District III/Region VI crown and at Jayhawk Conference No. 2. Crockett also had five Top-3 performances and eight Top-10 finishes in 2020-21.

Crockett had a season-stroke average of 71.6 for the season with 17 rounds under par. Over the final three tournaments of 2021, Crockett shot an average of 70.1.

Crockett placed third in the 2021 Jayhawk Conference regular-season standings.

Crockett was first-team All-KJCCC, All-Region VI and a first-team All-American. He was also a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year award.

Charlie Crockett earned first-team PING All-America honors in both 2019 and 2020. The 2020 spring season was wiped out because of the Coronavirus pandemic, but the GCAA still made their annual awards based on the 2019 fall season, just Crockett is a three-time All-American.

This past season, Charlie Crockett won two tournaments – Jayhawk No. 2 and the KJCCC Championship – to repeat his 2019 league individual title. He finished 10th in the District III Championship and tied for 20th at the NJCAA Championships.

The University of Missouri signee averaged 72.3 strokes per round this past season with 12 rounds under par, including a 64 shot at the Rawls Course in Lubbock in the NJCAA Preview last October.

Charlie Crockett won nine individual tournament titles in his Blue Dragon career.

Hutchinson CC Men's Golf Release: 3 Dragons names GCAA/PING All-Americans

ST. JOSEPH, MO. —After a temporary relocation to Kansas City last year due to COVID-19, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced that their Training Camp will return to Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph this July.

The camp will be open to fans again, as this marks the Chiefs' 11th year of training camp at Missouri Western.

"The energy and excitement of Training Camp will be another welcome sign that we are returning to normal. It will set the stage for an exciting and engaging fall semester," said Missouri Western president Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy in a release.

The Chiefs also announced dates and times for all practices, which start on Wednesday, July 28 and conclude on Wednesday, August 18.

Nearly all training camp practices will be free to the public. Missouri Western will charge a $5 admission fee on three practice days – July 30, July 31 and August 8. There will be a $5 parking fee each of those days, and cash will be accepted for that.

All training camp tickets must be reserved in advance through the Chiefs Kingdom Rewards program at www.chiefskingdomrewards.com. Due to heightened demand, attendance at daily practice will be limited to provide the best fan experience.

Fans without Chiefs Kingdom Rewards accounts who wish to reserve Training Camp tickets can sign up for free at www.chiefskingdomrewards.com.

Ticket reservation will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7. Fans can reserve a maximum of four tickets per practice and can reserve tickets for a maximum of three separate practices.

All tickets are mobile entry only. Due to NFL protocols, no autographs are allowed this year.

The Chiefs will host two free, exclusive Season Ticket Member Days that won't be open to the public. Those will be July 28 and August 10. Parking will be free on both of those days.

Additional camp details will be communicated to ticket holders via email in the weeks leading up to training camp. All ticket reservations and purchases are subject to the Chiefs ticket terms found at www.chiefs.com/tickets/terms/.

Per Missouri Western policy, all parking and paid admission date ticket sales are final.

Cole, among the pitchers under highest scrutiny as umpires regularly search pitchers this week for unauthorized grip enhancers, allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings, showing his usual velocity but without his explosive strikeout pitches. Luke Voit homered and tripled in his return from the injured list as the Yankees built a lead.

DETROIT (AP) — Jonathan Schoop and Jake Rogers each drove in three runs as the Detroit Tigers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2. Schoop homered and Rogers hit a two-run double in Detroit's six-run fourth inning. Tigers starter Tarik Skubal gave up two runs on four hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Kyle Funkhouser (1-0) was credited with the victory for 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Johan Oviedo (0-3) took the loss, allowing six runs, two earned, on six hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Tyrone Tracy Jr. wants to establish himself as the leader of Iowa's young receiving corps. Tracy took a back seat to Brandon Smith and Ihmir Smith-Marsette in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He had just 14 catches for 154 yards and one touchdown. &nbsp;Smith and Smith-Marsette are gone. That leaves Tracy and Nico Ragaini to lead a group that also includes seniors Charlie Jones and Max Cooper. Tracy says his goal is to be the top receiver in the Big Ten.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Freshman Tanner Witt pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout relief and Silas Ardoin hit a tie-breaking, two-run single as Texas eliminated Tennessee from the College World Series with an 8-4 victory. The No. 2 national seed Longhorns picked up their first win in Omaha since 2014 while No. 3 Tennessee went two-and-out in its first appearance since 2005. Tennessee sports icon Peyton Manning watched from the stands and saw his Volunteers take an early lead. Texas never trailed after Eric Kennedy's three-run homer in the second.

UNDATED (AP) — The Creighton men's basketball program has been placed on two years' probation and docked scholarships each of the next two seasons by the NCAA. The organization investigated allegations that a former assistant coach accepted cash from a management agency. The penalties are the latest in a wide-ranging FBI probe into college basketball corruption that has ensnared numerous coaches and several high-profile schools, including Kansas and North Carolina State. The NCAA says Creighton athletic director Bruce Rasmussen violated ethics rules after he conducted his own investigation without notifying or coordinating with the compliance office.&nbsp;

PHOENIX (AP) — Deandre Ayton was the hero as the Phoenix Suns took a two-game-to-none lead in the NBA's Western Conference Finals.

Ayton jammed an alley-oop pass from Jae Crowder with 0.7 seconds left to give the Suns a 104-103 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Suns were down one with 0.9 seconds left when Crowder lofted a high pass on an out-of-bounds play on the baseline. After Ayton's winning slam, the referees spent about a minute reviewing the play before ruling the basket was good. 

The Suns were led by Cameron Payne, who was brilliant while subbing for All-Star Chris Paul. He finished with a career-high 29 points, while Ayton accounted for 22 with 14 rebounds. Devin Booker followed his 40-point triple-double in the opener by delivering 20 points.

Paul George had 26 points for the Clippers, including two baskets in the final 31 seconds. George drilled a long two-pointer for a 103-102 lead, but he missed two free throws with eight seconds to play.

NEW YORK (AP) — Detroit Pistons fans finally have something to celebrate after the team finished with the NBA's second-worst record during the regular season.

The Pistons have won the NBA Draft lottery and will have the first pick next month. Detroit just recorded a 20-52 record that was the worst in the Eastern Conference and 14 wins away from a playoff berth. 

If the Pistons keep the pick, it'll be the first time they select No. 1 overall since taking Bob Lanier in 1970.

Houston will choose second after finishing with the league's worst record. Cleveland will select third, followed by Toronto, Orlando, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Orlando, Sacramento and New Orleans.

Oklahoma State freshman guard Cade Cunningham is the top prospect in the draft.

Settlement agreement filed in Bryant helicopter crash

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kobe Bryant's widow has agreed to settle a lawsuit against the pilot and owners of the helicopter that crashed last year, killing the NBA star, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others.

The Bryant family and relatives of other victims filed a settlement agreement notice Tuesday with a federal judge in Los Angeles but terms of the confidential deal weren't disclosed. 

If approved by the court, the settlement would end a negligence and wrongful death lawsuit filed against the estate of the pilot and the owner and operator of the helicopter that crashed into a hillside on Jan. 26, 2020.

The settlement was first announced by KABC-TV.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens are within one victory of their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since winning it all in 1993.

The Habs own a three-games-to-two lead in the semifinals after Carey Price turned back 26 shots in a 4-1 win over the Golden Knights in Las Vegas. Price blanked the Knights until former teammate Max Paccioretty (pash-uh-REH'-tee) beat him in the third period, after Montreal had built a 3-0 lead.

Nick Suzuki secured the victory with an empty-netter after setting up goals by Eric Staal and Cole Caufield. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (yehs-PEHR'-ee) kaht-kahn-YEH'-mee) put the Canadiens ahead to stay 8:45 into the game.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 22 shots for the Golden Knights, who will try to stave off elimination in Montreal on Thursday.

UNDATED (AP) — New York Islanders forward Mat Barzal avoided a suspension for his cross-check in Monday's 8-0 loss to Tampa Bay.

However, Barzal has been fined $5,000 by the NHL for hitting Tampa Bay's Jan Rutta in the neck with his stick at the end of the second period. Barzal received a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play.

— Islanders President of Hockey Operations Lou Lamoriello has won the Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year award. The Isles finished just six points off the East Division lead and are in the semifinals for the second straight year. Lamoriello was named on 30 of 41 ballots, including 12 first-place selections.

— Former Sabres high-scoring right wing Rene Robert (roh-BEHR') has died at age 72 less than a week after suffering a heart attack. Robert was one-third of the Sabres' French Connection line, one of the league's highest-scoring units during the 1970s. He registered a career-high 40 goals twice during his seven-plus seasons in Buffalo, and collected 552 points in 524 games as a Sabre. 

UNDATED (AP) — The Houston Astros have continued their surge by knocking off the American League's worst team. 

The Astros picked up their ninth straight win by topping the Orioles, 3-1 in Baltimore. Zack Greinke (GREHN'-kee) allowed one run and five hits with four strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings to improve to 8-2. 

Myles Straw hit a solo shot in the second inning and singled in the tiebreaking run in the seventh. Chas McCormick added a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

— Matt Chapman and Ramon Laureano hit two-run home runs in the first two innings of the Athletics' 13-6 rout of the Rangers. Oakland rapped out a season-high 15 hits, with Laureano, Mark Canha (KAN'-ah) and former Rangers All-Star Elvis Andrus (AN'-droos) providing three apiece. Winning pitcher Cole Irvin cruised through four scoreless innings on 40 pitches before allowing four runs on four hits and a hit batter in the fifth.

— Cavan Biggio (BIH'-zhee-oh) and Lourdes Gurriel (gur-ee-EHL') Jr. doubled on consecutive pitches to break a ninth-inning tie and push the Blue Jays past the Marlins, 2-1. The hits came with one out against Yimi García who entered the game after Sandy Alcantara (al-KAN'-tah-rah) stymied the Blue Jays while throwing only 86 pitches in eight innings. MLB RBIs leader Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled home to help Toronto improve to 12-2 in interleague games.

— Pinch-hitter Erik Gonzalez's two-run single highlighted a four-run rally in the seventh inning of the Pirates' 6-3 downing of the White Sox. Adam Frazier homered and Bryan Reynolds had two RBIs as Pittsburgh dealt Chicago its season-high fifth straight loss. A three-run homer by pinch-hitter Yasmani Grandal (yahs-MAH'-nee grahn-DAHL') in the top of the seventh put the White Sox ahead 3-2 after they were held scoreless on two hits.

— The Cubs cruised to a 7-1 thumping of the Indians as Kyle Hendricks dominated over six scoreless innings to win his eighth straight start. Hendricks allowed just four hits and extended the best winning streak of his career and the longest by a Cubs pitcher since Jake Arrieta won nine consecutive starts to bridge the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Kris Bryant, Willson Contreras and Patrick Wisdom went deep in Chicago's third win in nine games.

— Tyler Naquin (NAY'-kwihn) capped his 4-for-4 performance by ripping a tiebreaking, three-run homer in the ninth inning of the Reds' 10-7 win over the Twins in Minnesota. UNDATED (AP) — Cleveland Indians right-hander Aaron Civale (sih-VA'-lee) appears headed to the injured list because of soreness in the middle finger on his pitching hand. 

The major league wins leader this season left in the fifth inning of Monday's victory over the Chicago Cubs. Manager Terry Francona says the Indians are "prepared that he's going to miss some time." 

The loss of Civale would be a big blow for Cleveland, which is playing without ace Shane Bieber and right-hander Zach Plesac (PLEE'-sak) due to injuries. Civale is 10-2 with a 3.32 ERA in 15 starts.

— Reds first baseman Joey Votto served his one-game suspension Tuesday, three days after being ejected for arguing with an umpire. Votto was already slated to rest in Tuesday's series finale at Minnesota. Seahawks to allow full crowds at Lumen Field next season

SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks intend to have full capacity crowds at Lumen Field for the upcoming season after the team received approval from the NFL and local and state health officials to completely reopen the stadium. 

Fans will not be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend games, but those who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks. The team says it won't require proof of vaccination for fans. 

Creighton put on probation by NCAA amid fallout of FBI probe

UNDATED (AP) — The Creighton men's basketball program has been placed on two years' probation and docked scholarships each of the next two seasons by the NCAA. The organization investigated allegations that a former assistant coach accepted cash from a management agency. 

The NCAA says Creighton athletic director Bruce Rasmussen violated ethics rules after he conducted his own investigation without notifying or coordinating with the compliance office. 

The penalties are the latest in a wide-ranging FBI probe into college basketball corruption that has ensnared numerous coaches and several high-profile schools.

DALLAS (AP) — The 11 university presidents and chancellors who oversee the College Football Playoff have authorized the continued evaluation of a proposed 12-team playoff. Any plan could still be another five years away. 

The presidents and chancellors say the next step is a summer review phase to hear the opinions from a wide array of people, including athletes, campus leaders and coaches.

Chinese swimmer banned, will miss Olympics

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — Chinese swimmer star Sun Yang has been banned for more than four years for breaking anti-doping rules. The verdict by the Court of Arbitration for Sport ends Sun's hopes of defending his Olympic title in the 200 meters freestyle in Tokyo next month. His ban expires in May 2024. 

Wembley capacity increased for Euro 2020 semifinals, final

LONDON (AP) — The British government says more than 60,000 fans will be allowed into the semifinals and final of the European Championship at Wembley Stadium. 

The stadium normally seats about 90,000 for soccer.

No details have been provided yet on how fans from overseas can attend without having to quarantine after flying into London.

Bat Cats beat Monarchs Tuesday

MIDLAND, TX– The Wichita Wind Surge limited the Midland RockHounds to one run and blasted two home runs on their way to a 6-1 victory in game one of the series Tuesday in Midland.

Wichita continued their hot hitting with two home runs in the first two innings. Jose Miranda picked up his 12th home run in the season on the fourth pitch of the game. Miranda’s lead off shot traveled 444 feet and fired off his bat at 104 miles per hour. BJ Boyd put two more runs on the board for the Wind Surge in the next inning with a two-run home run over the left field wall. Boyd’s opposite field long ball was his second of the year and placed Wichita ahead 3-0 early.

After Aaron Whitefield singled to lead off the fourth inning, he stole second base on a delayed steal and then advanced to third on a BJ Boyd ground ball. Andrew Bechtold then picked up his 15th RBI of the year by driving in Whitefield with an RBI single through the right side to push Wichita’s advantage to four.

Jose Miranda picked up his fourth hit of the day in the top of the ninth with one out on a double to right field. Yeltsin Encarnacion, who came in earlier in the game for Ernie De La Trinidad, drove in Miranda with an RBI single to right field. Encarnacion then attempted to steal second and advanced to third on a throwing error on Midland. Wilbis Santiago drove in Encarnacion next as a pinch hitter for his first RBI in a Wind Surge uniform and solidifying a 6-1 opening series victory for Wichita.

Austin Schulfer was terrific in his ninth start on the season. Schulfer worked six innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just three hits, and striking out six Midland batters. Brandon Koch and Zach Neff came out of the bullpen and finished the job for the Wind Surge. Koch and Neff completed the last three innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out four.

First pitch on Wednesday is set for 6:30 p.m. from Midland, Texas.

BJ Boyd put two more runs on the board for the Wind Surge in the next inning with a two-run home run over the left field wall. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark has been arrested in Los Angeles after police say they saw a submachine gun in his car. LAPD spokesman Tony Im says Clark was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown Sunday night and officers noticed an Uzi sticking out of a bag. Clark was arrested on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. He was released on $35,000 bond Monday. His lawyer says the gun belonged to a bodyguard.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Caeleb Dressel and Katie Ledecky lead a powerful U.S. swimming team headed to the Tokyo Olympics. The Americans are expected to top the medals standings once again. Dressel is poised to be a breakout star, having qualified in three individual events. He could swim in at least three relays, including the new mixed 4x100 that features men and women. Ledecky will swim four individual events plus relays, although her times at the trials weren't as fast as she had expected.&nbsp;

The defending NHL champions improved to 13-0 in games following a postseason loss since launching their 2020 title run and will take a 3-2 series lead over the Islanders into Game 6 of their best-of-7 matchup Wednesday night in Uniondale, New York. Umpires are now doing regular checks of all pitchers for tacky substances that could be used to doctor baseballs. That was long against the rules but rarely enforced until now. Jacob deGrom was the first pitcher inspected under the new directive that took effect Monday. In the opener of the New York Mets' doubleheader against Atlanta, the two-time Cy Young Award winner passed when inspected after the first and fifth innings. Any pitchers using illegal substances will be ejected and then suspended 10 games.

— The New York Mets have fired two high-ranking employees and will overhaul their legal and human resources departments on the recommendation of independent investigators hired to review the organization following allegations of sexual misconduct against former manager Mickey Callaway. was fired in October of 2019 for on-field performance. He was banned by Major League Baseball through at least 2022 in May following allegations of inappropriate behavior toward several women who work in sports media, including from his time with the Mets. 

— The Baseball Hall of Fame's induction ceremony is returning to its standard seating format, opening the door for a big crowd to see former Yankees star Derek Jeter be enshrined. Hall of Fame officials say tickets will not be required for the event's free lawn seating area. The ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 8 on the grounds of Clark Sports Center and will honor class of 2020 members Jeter, Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker. No one was selected this year. 

Nassib becomes first active NFL player to come out as gay

UNDATED (AP) — Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib on Monday became the first active NFL player to come out as gay. Nassib announced the news on Instagram, saying he wasn't doing it for the attention but because he felt representation and visibility were important. 

Nassib also said in his short video message that he was donating $100,000 to the Trevor Project, a nonprofit that seeks to prevent suicide among LGBTQ youth.

Nassib is a sixth-year pro who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2016 in the third round out of Penn State. He played two seasons for the Browns and two for Tampa Bay before joining the Raiders in 2020.

— The Buffalo Bills have received the green light from New York state health officials to return to full capacity for home games this season. Vaccinated and unvaccinated fans will be allowed to attend, though unvaccinated folks will be required to wear masks under federal guidelines. The coronavirus pandemic led to Buffalo playing home games in an empty stadium during the regular season last year. The rules were loosened to allow about 6,700 fans attend the Bills' two home playoff games in January.

— Eli Manning has a new job with the New York Giants. The two-time Super Bowl MVP is rejoining the organization to work in business opportunities and fan initiatives. The Giants announced the hiring on Monday, roughly 18 months after Manning retired following the 2019 season. 

— Zaven Collins, a first-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals, was arrested over the weekend for reckless driving and excessive speeding. Scottsdale police say Collins was pulled over Sunday for allegedly driving 76 mph in a 35-mph zone. Police say Collins was booked and released later in the day. Collins was taken by the Cardinals with the 16th overall pick in this year's draft out of Tulsa. 

High court sides with former athletes in dispute with NCAA

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a ruling that could help push changes in college athletics, the Supreme Court has unanimously sided with a group of former college athletes in a dispute with the NCAA over rules limiting certain compensation. 

The high court ruled today that NCAA limits on the education-related benefits that colleges can offer athletes who play Division I basketball and football can't be enforced.

Under current NCAA rules, students cannot be paid, and the scholarship money colleges can offer is capped at the cost of attending the school. The NCAA had defended its rules as necessary to preserve the amateur nature of college sports. The case doesn't decide whether students can be paid salaries.

Conferences urge stopgap for NCAA on NIL until federal law

UNDATED (AP) — Six Division I conferences are urging the NCAA to implement a stopgap measure that would allow college athletes to earn money off their fame before a federal law is passed. The conferences include the SEC, ACC and Pac-12.

In a letter obtained by AP and sent to the head of the Division I Council, the conference commissioners recommended the council refrain from adopting proposed reforms to the NCAA"s name, image and likeness compensation rules. The six conferences said the NCAA's proposal would be vulnerable to legal challenges. 

Six state laws allowing college athletes to earn endorsement money will take effect on July 1.

Former NHL player/manager Tom Kurvers dies

UNDATED (AP) - Former NHL player and Minnesota Wild assistant general manager Tom Kurvers has died after a battle with lung cancer. He was 58. Kurvers won the Hobey Baker Award as the top college player. He then played 11 NHL seasons from 1984-1995 before moving into management. 

— The New York Islanders have sold out of season tickets for the first season in their new home at UBS Arena. The team says that's an allotment of about 15,000 season tickets. The Islanders are in the midst of their second straight trip to the semifinal round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the new arena won't open for almost another four months.

UNDATED (AP) — Two days after a team with NBA title hopes went out in the second round, the Brooklyn Nets said they will take some time evaluating their players. 

They'll also take a look at the training staff that's responsible for keeping players healthy. General manager Sean Marks says he won't make any rash decisions. The Nets were eliminated with a 115-111 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. James Harden and Kyrie Irving were hurt for much of the series.

UNDATED (AP) — James Harden has committed to playing for U.S. men's national basketball team that will play in the Olympics that begin next month. That's according to a person familiar with the situation. 

The men's roster is getting closer to filled, with Miami's Bam Adebayo also informing USA Basketball of his intention to play in the Tokyo Games. The Hutchinson Monarchs and Great Bend Bat Cats gave Wichita baseball fans a great game Monday at Eck Stadium. 

The Monarchs won in ten innings 5-1. Their bats finally came to life in the tenth with four runs after getting just three hits in the first nine innings.

The Monarchs improve to 10-2 on the year, The Bat Cats are 8-4.

The Monarchs continue their series with the Bat Cats Tuesday at Great Bend's Al Burns Memorial Field. First pitch is at 7 p.m.

Monarchs win in extra innings 5-1 Monday in Wichita

LOS ANGELES —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a member of the Kansas City Chiefs on felony charges after an arrest Sunday&nbsp; in Los Angeles.

Just before 9:30p.m. Sunday, police stopped a vehicle driven by <a href="https://www.chiefs.com/team/players-roster/frank-clark/">28-year-old Frank Clark</a> for an alleged code violation, according to online LAPD records.

Officers observed an Uzi in a bag in the vehicle and arrested Clark&nbsp;on a requested charge of a concealed firearm in a vehicle violation. He spent the night in jail and bonded out Monday afternoon.&nbsp;His lawyer says the gun belonged to a bodyguard, according to the Associated Press.

The case will be presented to the LA County Prosecutor's Office.

Clark is in his seventh season as defensive end from the University of Michigan and 2021 is his third season in Kansas City, according to his bio on the team website.
