ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Stanford and Kansas State go into their season-opening matchup on distinctly different streaks after both won four games last year. The Cardinal won the last four games in a pandemic-altered 4-2 season.
K-State lost its last five games in its worst season-ending skid since 1989 to finish 4-6. They play Saturday in the home stadium of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Quarterback Skylar Thompson is back for sixth year at K-State after a season-ending shoulder injury early last season. Stanford will rotate quarterbacks early while looking for a regular with Davis Mills now in the NFL.
