TUCSON, Arizona—With questions of the the Pac-12's future continuing to mount, the Arizona Board of Regents held a special meeting Tuesday that was not open to the public.

The virtual meeting was put on the agenda on Monday, not long after speculation grew surrounding Arizona's future in the Pac-12 and&nbsp;a potential move to the Big 12. The meeting was livestreamed on the Board of Regents' YouTube channel or several minutes and gained hundreds of viewers before going into executive session and ending.

It has been reported that Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff's media rights deal to school presidents and athletic directors was a potential topic,&nbsp;according to Yahoo Sports.&nbsp;

ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that the deal will revolve around&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/PeteThamel/status/1686453666415263746" target="_blank">streaming primarily on Apple</a>. The deal would also have incentivized tiers.

The executives of the remaining nine schools left the hour-long meeting without an agreement but there’s an expectation that they will eventually conclude a deal.

A reliance on streaming in the future is something that could take a while to make a decision on, especially with the unknown figures of subscriptions.

Kliavkoff&nbsp;previously said at Pac-12 Football Media Day&nbsp;on July 21 that the deal will be announced soon and indicated that it had been done before backtracking his comments.

There has been growing speculation that the corner schools in the Pac-12 would leave within the year. Colorado announced it will play in the Big 12 on Thursday, leaving just nine schools left in the Pac-12 for next season. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Big 12 expansion: Will Arizona Wildcats follow Colorado?

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Wind Surge got a two-run home run out of Yoyner Fajardo in the bottom of the second inning that proved to be the difference in the ball game against Tulsa. The Wichita Wind Surge defeated the Tulsa Drillers at Riverfront stadium with a score of 3-1.

The Wind Surge scored in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead. After David Festa struck out three batters in the top of the first, Yunior Severino hit an RBI single on a ground ball to center field for the Wind Surge.

Wichita Extended their lead in the bottom of the second inning. Fajardo hit a ball into the Boot Barn Home Run Deck just over the right field wall for a two-run shot that flew 384 feet.

The Drillers got rid of their goose egg in the top of the seventh. Austin Gauthier hit a sacrifice fly that was caught at the start of the warning track in right field which gave enough time for Tulsa to score an unearned run.

David Festa made his 17th start of the season for the Wichita Wind Surge. He pitched a scoreless three and third innings where he gave up three hits, struck out six batters, and walked two more. Isaac Mattson earned the win.

The starting pitcher for Tulsa was Ben Casparius. He pitched a full four innings where he gave up three runs off four hits. He struck out four batters and walked three more. He was credited with the loss.

The Wichita Wind Surge improved to (12-16, 40-56) and the Tulsa Drillers fell to (9-18, 50-47).

NOTES: Brooks Lee hit his league leading 31st double in the bottom of the seventh inning. Tulsa has already secured the Propeller Series victory with 13 wins out of the 19 games played so far. The 104-degree first pitch is the hottest starting temperature ever recorded at Riverfront Stadium. Yunior Severino extended his hitting streak to eight games. His ten game streak of scoring a run ended on Tuesday. Severino was named Texas League Hitter of the Week, drilling six home runs and batting .348 for the week with ten RBI.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State quarterback Hunter Dekkers is accused of gambling on Cyclones sports events, including a football game, and has been charged with tampering with records related to an Iowa Criminal Division investigation into sports gambling. Dekkers is accused of using a phony ID to place wagers totaling $2,799 while underage and as a member of the Cyclones. According to the documents, Dekkers bet on an Iowa State football game against Oklahoma State in 2021, when he was a sophomore backup quarterback. Dekkers did not play in that game. Neither side looked close to scoring for much of the night, but Blomqvist broke the deadlock with a headed goal at the 66th-minute mark to help the blue and yellow finish 3-0 in group play. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Josh Walker balked home the winning run in the 10th inning and the Kansas City Royals rallied past the New York Mets 7-6 on Tuesday night for their season-best fourth straight victory.

Hours after the retooling Mets&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/justin-verlander-astros-mets-trade-727db3282dbf8da017ad21897974b1ad">traded star pitcher Justin Verlander</a>&nbsp;and two other players to cap&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/mets-scherzer-verlander-trades-mlb-328a9452c1fc228ffc32e76df68993bb">a stunning deadline selloff,</a>&nbsp;they blew a 6-4 lead provided by rookie Francisco Álvarez's two-run homer in the top of the 10th.

Bobby Witt Jr. hit an RBI double in the bottom half and MJ Melendez tied it with a run-scoring single off Brooks Raley (0-2).

“The whole last inning, really good at-bats,” Royals manager Matt Quatraro said. “Bobby, MJ, and then taking walks. Raley’s tough. We’ve seen a lot of him and he can really get you to expand the zone. Our guys didn’t do that.”

“Bobby getting us started right there is huge,” Melendez said. “Getting that tying run on second base takes a lot of pressure off the guys to come. We had some really good at-bats and some walks after that.”

Following a two-out throwing error by rookie third baseman Brett Baty, Melendez scored when Walker balked with the bases loaded to give last-place Kansas City (33-75) its sixth walk-off victory.

“I didn’t have a PitchCom in my ear,” Walker explained. “Álvy didn’t have communication. Basically I was trying to relay that to him. When I went to step off, my foot was kind of in the footprint of where guys had been throwing and my knee buckled a little bit before I stepped off.”

Walker was recalled from the minors earlier in the day.

“Pitching-wise, we gave them some things they didn’t earn,” Mets manager Buck Showalter said. “But they earned some stolen bases.”

Kansas City stole three bases in the seventh and scored twice to grab a 3-1 lead. Pinch-runner Dairon Blanco stole third and scored on Álvarez’s throwing error before Maikel Garcia added an RBI single off Trevor Gott.

“We’ve got dudes on the whole team that can move the game on the basepaths,” said Samad Taylor, who stole two bases and scored twice. “Any way we can do something on the basepaths, it’s a plus. This game tonight came down to baserunning and doing the right things on the basepaths.”

“He’s got sneaky pop,” Quatraro said. “He steals bags, plays good defense. We’re excited to have him.”

Carlos Hernández (1-6) worked one inning for the win.

Pete Alonso hit his 31st homer for the Mets and added an RBI single in a three-run eighth that gave them a 4-3 lead.

“You know you can’t make mistakes to him,” Royals starter Zack Greinke said. “It was a fastball right down the middle. It’s still an impressive hit.”

Freddy Fermin’s sacrifice fly off Adam Ottavino in the bottom half tied it.

After making a flurry of trades over the past few days, the Mets called up Walker, RHP John Curtiss, OF Rafael Ortega and C Michael Pérez from Triple-A Syracuse.

Kansas City activated 1B Matt Beaty from the seven-day injured list and recalled LHP Angel Zerpa and RHPs Jackson Kowar and James McArthur from Triple-A Omaha.

Mets rookie RHP Kodai Senga (7-5, 3.17 ERA) faces Royals RHP Alec Marsh (0-5, 7.04) on Wednesday night.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Royals wrapped up the Trade Deadline with two last-minute deals that sent veteran pitchers to the West Coast.

Kansas City traded lefty starter&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mlb.com/player/642232" target="_blank">Ryan Yarbrough</a>&nbsp;to the Dodgers for Minor League infielder Devin Mann (L.A.'s No. 29 prospect, per MLB Pipeline) and 19-year-old shortstop Derlin Figueroa. Closer&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mlb.com/player/605130" target="_blank">Scott Barlow</a>&nbsp;is headed to the Padres; in return, the Royals acquired right-handers Henry Williams (Padres' No. 10 prospect) and Jesus Rios.

Earlier in the day, the Royals also acquired lefty reliever Tucker Davidson, who had been designated for assignment last week, from the Angels for cash considerations.

Williams was assigned to Single-A Columbia, while Rios will join the Royals’ Dominican Summer League affiliate. Mann will join Triple-A Omaha, and Figueroa will head to the Royals’ Arizona Complex League team.

The Royals recalled righties Jackson Kowar and James McArthur for Tuesday night’s game against the Mets after trading Barlow and Yarbrough.

Yarbrough, who has one more year of control after this season, missed 55 games after being struck in the face by a line drive. Since his return, he's been nothing but excellent. The 31-year-old had a 2.19 ERA in four starts during the month of July, allowing just six runs in 24 2/3 innings with 15 strikeouts and just two walks. He has a 4.24 ERA this year, but as a starter, he’s pitched to a 3.08 ERA.

Mann, 26, has appeared in 89 games for the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate, posting a .943 OPS with 33 doubles and 14 home runs. The Dodgers’ fifth-round pick in the 2018 Draft out of Louisville is a right-handed hitter who has power potential while walking at a 13% clip this season.

Figueroa turns 20 on Sept. 7 and has played 31 games for the ACL Dodgers with a .748 OPS. He was signed by the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2021 out of the Dominican and has slashed .233/.355/.379 over parts of three pro seasons.

In conversations with the Padres, the Royals had their sights set on Williams, San Diego’s third-round pick out of Duke in last season’s Draft. The 21-year-old is coming off of Tommy John surgery that he underwent before the 2022 Draft and has a 5.74 ERA with a 22% strikeout rate in 12 starts with the Padres’ Single-A affiliate.

Rios, 21, signed with the Padres out of Mexico as an international free agent in January and has made 16 relief appearances this season with a 6.38 ERA.

Barlow, who also has a year of control left, ended his Royals' tenure ranked eighth all-time among Kansas City relievers with a 6.6 bWAR. The 30-year-old morphed into one of the top closers in the American League over the past few seasons with a 2.30 ERA, 28.2% strikeout rate and 8.4% walk rate between 2021-22. He has a 3.39 career ERA over parts of six Major League seasons after the Royals acquired him as a Minor League free agent in 2017.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have acquired left-handed pitcher&nbsp;Tucker Davidson&nbsp;from the Angels for cash considerations. Davidson, who was designated for assignment last Thursday, will report to the big league club. Kansas City’s Major League Reserve List is now at 40.

Davidson, 27, made his Major League debut with Atlanta in 2020 and made 4 starts for the 2021 Braves World Series-winning team. He also started Game 5 of the World Series. Last season as the Trade Deadline, he was acquired by the Angels in a three-player deal that sent&nbsp;Raisel Iglesias&nbsp;to the Braves.

Davidson made the Angels Opening Day roster this season and went 1-1 with 2 saves and 31 strikeouts in 31.2 innings (8.8 K/9) over 18 appearances. He recorded more than 1.0 inning in 11 of his 18 outings, including a season-high 4.0 scoreless innings in his season debut on April 1.

<a>MANHATTAN, Kan.</a>&nbsp;–&nbsp;Three Kansas State football players –&nbsp;Cooper Beebe,&nbsp;KT Leveston&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kobe Savage&nbsp;– landed on watch lists for awards presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), the organization announced Monday.

Beebe and Leveston are up for the Outland Trophy – which is presented to the nation’s most outstanding interior lineman – and Savage is on the initial watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy – which honors the nation’s most outstanding defensive player.

Kansas State is the only Big 12 school with multiple players represented on the Outland Trophy watch list, and it marks the second-straight season that Beebe has been named a preseason candidate for the award. Savage’s inclusion on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list marks the 12th&nbsp;time in the last 13 seasons the Wildcats have had at least one candidate for the award.

A Preseason All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation, Beebe has started 35 career games, including all 14 last season at left guard as he was named a First Team All-American by multiple outlets in addition to earning the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award from the league’s coaches. Leveston started all 14 games last season at left tackle en route to All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades. The duo helped K-State lead an offensive unit that ranked 15th&nbsp;nationally with 208.3 rushing yards per game, the Wildcats’ best national ranking since 2003 (No. 9) and best mark since 2016 (231.8).

🏈 Three Wildcats named to FWAA Award watch lists

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs need look no further than last season's playoffs, and the sight of Patrick Mahomes hobbling to the sideline against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a high ankle sprain, to understand the importance in protecting their quarterback.

Yet oddly enough, they were OK watching both of their starting offensive tackles leave in free agency.

The big blow was the departure of left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., for whom the Chiefs paid the Ravens handsomely in a trade, when the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a long-term deal.

But nearly as painful was the loss of right tackle Andrew Wylie, who had gone from an afterthought fighting for a job to one of the more reliable players along the offensive line.

Rarely do the Chiefs make such moves without a plan, though. General manager Brett Veach acted quickly to sign ex-Tampa Bay tackle Donovan Smith to handle the left side and former Jacksonville tackle Jawaan Taylor to handle the right, then Veach used a third-round pick on Oklahoma's Wanya Morris to create instant competition at both positions.

So far, Chiefs coach Andy Reid — an old offensive line coach — has liked what he's seen.

“You're never sure exactly what you're going to get there,” Reid said, “but they're competing and that's important. That's an important part of this, that you're able to push through these practices, run and pass. I like the way they work their game.”

The decision to put Mahomes' health in the hands of Smith and Taylor is a gamble, though. Neither of them graded out particularly well last season, depending on the metric you use, though both of them have shown flashes of high-level play in the past.

Smith, for example, ranked No. 66 among 81 offensive tackles by Pro Football Focus. Taylor was just one spot better.

But the Chiefs have established a track record of unlocking the potential in relatively unheralded players, particularly along the offensive line, where assistant coach Andy Heck is among the best in the business.

Wylie is a prime example: He was undrafted out of Eastern Michigan and wound up earning two Super Bowl rings in Kansas City before signing with Washington.

“All of us have played a lot of football and a lot of big games, tough games,” Taylor said. “We’re all smart mentally, physically. It’s just more so we’re tying in each and every individual aspect of who we are and how we play and tying it together and figuring out what works, what meshes. You know, just the many things we bring to the table per guy I would say is our strength.”

Another strength is having one of the best interior offensive lines in the NFL. Left guard Joe Thuney is considered one of the top five in the league at his position, right guard Trey Smith is likewise considered a top-tier guard, and center Creed Humphrey was picked for the Pro Bowl in just his second season in the league.

It also helps having Mahomes calling out the signals.

“Just a great leader man. He brings that energy every day, you know? He holds everybody accountable,” Donovan Smith said. "You mess up, we are going to redo it. Even in the walk-throughs and the learning periods, we always slow it down and we get to learn the offense. That’s been helping me a lot with the walk-throughs and learning the things they like doing here.”

The Chiefs were fortunate to overcome Mahomes' ankle injury in the playoffs. He returned in the second half to lead them past Jacksonville in the divisional round, and he hobbled through an AFC title game-thriller against Cincinnati, before hurting the ankle again in the Super Bowl — and then leading the Chiefs past Philadelphia for the Lombardi Trophy.

The pressure is on the Chiefs' new offensive tackles to prevent the same such stress this season.

NOTES: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire returned to practice Monday after missing the previous two with an illness. ... TE Jody Fortson (shoulder), WR Kadarius Toney (knee) and DE Mike Danna (calf) were among those that remained out. P Tommy Townsend also spent time in the medical tent, though no reason was given by the Chiefs. ... DT Chris Jones continued his holdout. He has been fined $50,000 for each day missed, which brings the total to $550,000. ... The Chiefs had a short practice Monday after three consecutive workouts in pads. They are off Tuesday before resuming camp Wednesday.

Hearn was designated for assignment by Texas on July 19. He was traded to Atlanta last week for cash, and he got one out in his only appearance with the Braves on Saturday. The Guardians announced the deal Monday, one day before the trade deadline. Civale’s name has been thrown around in trade speculation for weeks, which has coincided with the right-hander pitching as well as he has in several seasons. He posted a 1.45 ERA in six July starts. On Sunday, Civale pitched six scoreless innings in a win over the White Sox. The move creates a bigger void in Cleveland's starting rotation, but the Guardians felt it was worth it to get a player with Manzardo's potential.

He's batting .258 with 16 homers and 53 RBIs in 99 games this season. The Cubs also acquired right-hander José Cuas in a trade with Kansas City for minor league outfielder Nelson Velázquez. Candelario made his big league debut with the Cubs in 2016. The Cubs got Candelario and cash from Washington for minor leaguers DJ Herz and Kevin Made. Herz was an eighth-round pick in the 2019 amateur draft.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The University of Colorado's decision to return to the Big 12 next year is expected to be a boon to football coach Deion Sanders' recruiting efforts in Texas and Florida. PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin says he's put aside his fear to find joy after practicing in pads for the first time since going into cardiac arrest during a game last season. Hamlin said he leaned on his faith in God and himself and the support of family and teammates to overcome any feelings of trepidation he had. The padded practice at training camp marked the next step in the 25-year-old Hamlin's pursuit to resume playing football. Hamlin collapsed and needed to be resuscitated on the field in January. He was cleared to play in April.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Nearly two weeks after Don Coryell died in 2010 at age 85, an impressive lineup of Hall of Famers gathered to remember the innovative coach whose “Air Coryell” offense produced some of the most dynamic passing attacks in NFL history. John Madden and Dan Fouts were there, along with Joe Gibbs, Kellen Winslow and Charlie Joiner. They had either played for or coached under Coryell, and while remembering the coach’s genius and genuineness, the overwhelming sentiments were sadness and bewilderment that Coryell had yet to join them in Canton. Coryell will finally be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

He has served as the Wildcats' primary long snapper for field goals and extra points since 2019 and added snapping duties on punts in each of the last two seasons. During the 2022 campaign, Plattner was true on all 59 punt snaps and 81 field goal/extra point snaps as he was named an Honorable Mention All-American by Phil Steele. Off the field, Plattner is a three-time First Team Academic All-Big 12 performer. Wichita State men's basketball is set to embark on a 10-day foreign tour in Greece, August 1-10. While in Greece, Wichita State will play three exhibition games against foreign competition. The Shockers open exhibition play on August 4 against the Thessaloniki All-Stars at 10 a.m. CDT. Two games against the University of Calgary on August 7 at Noon CDT and August 9 at Noon CDT wrap up the competition portion of the trip. LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels and running back Devin Neal are among the standout college football players who have been named to the preseason watch list for the 87th annual Maxwell Award.

The Maxwell Award has been presented to the College Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert “Tiny” Maxwell, who was a former standout at Swarthmore College and a renowned sportswriter and football official.

Daniels, the Big 12 Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, was a breakthrough player during the 2022 season as he led the Jayhawks to a 5-0 start and the program’s first bowl game appearance since 2008. He was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection after completing 152-of-230 (66.1 percent) passes for 2,014 yards and 18 touchdowns, while adding 425 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Daniels capped off the season with a record-setting performance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, where he went 37-of-55 for 544 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown.

A native of Lawndale, California, Daniels was previously named to the Preseason All-Big 12 First Team and earned preseason all-conference honors from Athlon Sports and Phil Steele. He earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors and was a Second Team Academic All-American in 2022 and was named the Walter Camp National FBS Offensive Player of the Week following his performance at Houston. Daniels was a four-time Manning Award Star of the Week and a three-time Davey O’Brien Great 8 List honoree in 2022.

Neal was also a Preseason All-Big 12 selection after becoming the 13th Jayhawk in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season in 2022. He concluded his sophomore season at KU with 1,090 yards and nine touchdowns on 180 rushing attempts, while adding 183 yards and one touchdown on 21 receptions to total 1,273 all-purpose yards for the season. Neal had three 100-yard rushing games in 2022, including a career-high 224 yards and one touchdown against Oklahoma State. He added 110 yards on six receptions against OSU, becoming the first Jayhawk to total 200-plus rushing yards and 100-plus receiving yards in the same game.

A hometown product from Lawrence, Neal is the only returning 1,000-yard rusher in the Big 12 this season, and he enters the year having received preseason All-Big 12 honors from both Athlon Sports and Phil Steele. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2022 and is a two-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week in his career. Tragedy struck Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp in St. Joseph.

Mosaic Life Care reports a fan died during the Sunday morning practice
at Missouri Western State University.

Mosaic released a written statement, “We are devastated to
share that one of the Kansas City Chiefs beloved fans, Jessica Tangen of
Riverside, Mo., passed away Sunday morning during practice at Chiefs Training
Camp.”

Mosaic stated its caregivers and emergency department caregivers
responded. Mosaic thanked Buchanan County EMS and Missouri Western staff for
reacting swiftly to the situation.

“Jessica’s family shared that she was a lifelong Chiefs fan
and loved cheering for the team. Please join us in lifting up the grieving
family with your thoughts and prayers. No additional details will be released,”
Mosaic concluded in its statement.

The Monarchs will be in Pool D with the GPS Legends, Hays Larks and the Seattle Blackfins.&nbsp;

Hutchinson will play the Hays Larks in the first game of pool play on Friday, August 4 at 6 p.m. at Eck Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University. The game will be the "feature game" of the day.

The Monarchs end the regular season tonight with a make-up game in Derby against the Twins. Hutchinson is currently 19-17 overall, but have been playing much better baseball since the all-star break. They are 12-6 in the second half of the Jayhawk Collegiate League season.

This marks the 12th NBC World Series appearance for the Monarchs, and their sixth straight. The Monarchs are 20-19 all-time in the tournament. 

Hutchinson has faced the Hays Larks five times in the NBC World Series and are 2-3 in those games. The Monarchs have never played the Seattle Blackfins or the GPS Legends in program history.

The first six days of the NBC World Series will be pool play, with four pools of four teams. Three teams from each pool will advance to single elimination play, which begins on Wednesday, August 9.

Pools A &amp; C will play Thursday/Saturday/Monday Pools B &amp; D will play Friday/Sunday/Tuesday.

⚾ Monarchs earn NBC World Series at-large bid

WICHITA, Kans. - Jax Biggers had three hits at the plate for Frisco after coming off the bench with four RBIs and two home runs. The Frisco RoughRiders defeated the Wichita Wind Surge 8-5 and took the series four games to two.

The Frisco Rough Riders were first to get on the board in the ball game. In the top of the third Surge pitching walked Kellen Strahm with the bases loaded to force a run to walk across the plate.

Yoyner Fajardo hit his fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth inning. He ripped the tying run over the center field wall that flew a total distance of 417 feet.

Jax Biggers entered the game to replace second baseman Thomas Saggesse. In his second at bat, he hit a solo home run to give the RoughRiders a lead.

In the top of the sixth Frisco broke the tie by scoring a few more runs of their own. First, Keyber Rodriguez hit an RBI triple and then Chris Seise hit an RBI double. Biggers continued his success in the batter’s box with an RBI single on a ground ball to right field.

Biggers hit his second home run of the day for the RoughRiders in the top of the eighth. The two-run home run was followed up by a Trevor Hauver solo home run that flew over the right center field wall and the Frisco lead increased to six.

The Wind Surge were able to reduce the deficit in the bottom of the eighth but did not complete the rally. Brooks Lee hit a two-out bases clearing three RBI single on a line drive up the first base line.

Jaylen Nowlin made his AA debut and first start of the season for the Wichita Wind Surge. He pitched three and two thirds innings where he gave up two hits, walked three and struck out five batters. He also gave up one earned run. Chad Donato was credited with the loss.

The starting pitcher for Frisco was Aidan Anderson. He pitched three full innings where he gave up no runs off four hits, struck out three batters and walked none. Nick Starr earned the win.

Yunior Severino extended his hitting streak to seven games and has scored a run in ten straight. His five game home run streak ended.

The Wichita Wind Surge fall to (11-16, 39-56) and the Frisco RoughRiders improve to (15-12, 46-49).

The Frisco RoughRiders defeated the Wichita Wind Surge 8-5 and took the series four games to two.The Frisco Rough Riders were first to get on the board in the ball game. In the top of the third Surge pitching walked Kellen Strahm with the bases loaded to force a run to walk across the plate.Yoyner Fajardo hit his fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth inning. He ripped the tying run over the center field wall that flew a total distance of 417 feet.Jax Biggers entered the game to replace second baseman Thomas Saggesse. In his second at bat, he hit a solo home run to give the RoughRiders a lead.In the top of the sixth Frisco broke the tie by scoring a few more runs of their own. First, Keyber Rodriguez hit an RBI triple and then Chris Seise hit an RBI double. Biggers continued his success in the batter’s box with an RBI single on a ground ball to right field.Biggers hit his second home run of the day for the RoughRiders in the top of the eighth. The two-run home run was followed up by a Trevor Hauver solo home run that flew over the right center field wall and the Frisco lead increased to six.The Wind Surge were able to reduce the deficit in the bottom of the eighth but did not complete the rally. Brooks Lee hit a two-out bases clearing three RBI single on a line drive up the first base line.Jaylen Nowlin made his AA debut and first start of the season for the Wichita Wind Surge. He pitched three and two thirds innings where he gave up two hits, walked three and struck out five batters. He also gave up one earned run. Chad Donato was credited with the loss.The starting pitcher for Frisco was Aidan Anderson. He pitched three full innings where he gave up no runs off four hits, struck out three batters and walked none. Nick Starr earned the win.Yunior Severino extended his hitting streak to seven games and has scored a run in ten straight.
