HUTCHINSON, Kan.&nbsp;— The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team improved its record to 3-0 on the season following a 107-63 win over Neosho County on Tuesday at the Sports Arena.

The 107 points scored are the most since the Blue Dragons beat Garden City, 103-61 on February 8, 2020.

Hutchinson (3-0) had five players score in double figures, led by Monae Duffy with 24, one away from matching her career-high. Duffy finished nearly perfect from the floor, knocking down 11 of 12 shot attempts.

Kiki Smith added 19 points, the third time in as many games the freshman from Topeka has scored double figures.

Liberal native Bree Horyna finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, marking her second straight double-double.

Journey Armstead (12 points, 6 assists) and Hailey Jackson (11 points, 9 rebounds) both rounded out the Blue Dragon double-figure scorers.

The Blue Dragons trailed by as many as 10 points in the first quarter and found themselves down 26-23 at the quarters end.

Hutchinson dominated the second quarter and led 49-34 at halftime.

The Hutchinson lead continued to grow as the game went on, outscoring the Panthers 58-29 in the second half to cruise to the 44-point victory.

Hutchinson finished with 67 rebounds in the game, the third straight game to start the season that the Blue Dragons have had 60-plus rebounds in. The Blue Dragons also dominated the paint, scoring 70 points in the lane.

Neosho (1-1) was led by Tiara Hozumi with 15 points, as Jahniya Brown added 14.

The Blue Dragons travel to Great Bend on Friday and Saturday for the Barton Classic hosted by Barton Community College. Hutchinson will play Labette on Friday at 1 p.m. and Redlands on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Friday game will air on 102.9-FM KHUT and Saturday will be carried on 1450-AM &amp; 98.5-FM KWBW.

LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Naismith Hall of Fame member Bill Self, one of just nine coaches all-time with 700-plus wins and multiple national championships, has signed an amended contract with the University of Kansas, Director of Athletics Travis Goff announced today.

With 773 career wins, two national championships, 20 conference championships, 18 first-round NBA Draft picks at Kansas and four National Coach of the Year honors, Self has had unmatched success with the Jayhawks. Since the start of the 2006-07 season, Kansas has won 498 games—21 more than any other team from a Power Five conference.

“Bill Self is undoubtedly the most consistent coach in college basketball, and a restructuring of his contract terms were long overdue,” Goff said. “In an ever-changing collegiate athletics environment, our strong commitment to Coach Self positions KU basketball to maintain and enhance its status as the most storied program in the country. Over his 20 years at KU, our men’s basketball program has been a primary source of positive alumni engagement, strong university enrollment, and revenue that has helped fund all other Kansas Athletics programs and invest in all 500 student-athletes every year. With him and his staff at the helm of our basketball program, the future of Kansas Athletics has never been brighter.”

Self’s tenure at Kansas has been one of the most dominant in college basketball history. He has posted a .811 winning percentage with the Jayhawks and led the program to 13-straight Big 12 Conference championships, tying an NCAA record. Self’s 566 wins since coming to Kansas also lead all active Power 5 coaches.

Consistency has been a hallmark of Self’s tenure at Kansas. Since Self’s arrival, the Jayhawks have been a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament 10 times. Self coached teams have also been a top-four seed in every NCAA Tournament since 2000-2001.

“I am very appreciative to Chancellor (Douglas) Girod, Travis Goff and the entire KU leadership team for their continued belief and confidence in me and my staff to lead this storied program,” Self said. “I know the Chancellor and Travis are as excited as I am about the future of Kansas Basketball. KANSAS CITY, Mo.—In conjunction with the Texas Rangers and Surprise Stadium, the Kansas City Royals today announced home game times for their 31-game exhibition schedule for 2024. Game dates and opponents were announced in July.

The Royals will begin their 22nd&nbsp;season in the Cactus League on Friday, Feb. 23 as the road team vs. the Texas Rangers at Surprise Stadium. Kansas City’s schedule features 15 home games at Surprise Stadium, plus 2 games as the visiting team vs. the Rangers.

The Royals will host 2 night games during Cactus League play, on Tuesday, March 5 vs. the Chicago Cubs at 7:05 p.m. CT and Wednesday, March 20 vs. the Los Angeles Angels at 8:05 p.m. CT.

Seven of the Royals 1st&nbsp;8 home games will begin at 2:05 p.m. CT. Starting on Sunday, March 10, when Daylight Savings begins, 5 of the remaining 7 home games are scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.

Of the 14 other teams in the Cactus League, the Royals will play all but two of them at least twice, including 4 games vs. the Rangers and 3 games vs. the Guardians, Angels, Cubs and Rockies. They’re also scheduled for 2 games vs. the White Sox, Athletics, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Giants, Reds and Brewers. The Royals will play 1 game vs. the Padres. ⚾ Royals announce home game times for 2024 Spring Training 

Hutchinson Community College football garnered two more Jayhawk Conference Players of the Week after a KJCCC championship-clinching 42-8 road victory at Independence on Saturday. &nbsp;

Quarterback Samari Collier was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Linebacker K’Von Sherman earned his first career league Defensive Player of the Week award.&nbsp;

Collier is the sixth Offensive Player of the Week winner this season. Sherman is the fifth Defensive award winner. The Dragons have a grand total of 15 KJCCC Players of the Week this season.&nbsp;

SAMARI COLLIER – Offensive Player of the Week&nbsp; Collier threw for four touchdowns and had 256 total yards in Hutchinson’s conference championship-clinching victory. Collier threw for touchdowns of 67, 70, 65 and 3 yards against the Pirates. He was 6 of 15 passing, but had no interceptions. Collier also ran for 36 yards on seven carries to pace the Blue Dragons.&nbsp;

K’VON SHERMAN – Defensive Player of the Week&nbsp; Sherman led the Blue Dragons in tackles with seven total stop in Hutchinson’s 42-8 win over Independence. &nbsp;

Sherman had a quarterback sack for an eight-yards loss and 1.5 total tackles for loss, accounting for 11 yards.&nbsp;

Sherman had one of six quarterback sacks by the Blue Dragons, which held Independence to a negative-13 rushing yards.&nbsp;

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Boogie Ellis had 24 points and eight rebounds as No. 21 Southern California defeated Kansas State 82-69 in the season opener for both teams Monday night.

The Trojans led by 19 with 6:33 left, but that margin was trimmed to eight with 1:41 remaining before USC held on.

“We've got a lot of vets and people that are experienced and been through it,” Ellis said. “So we just stayed calm and came together.”

Touted freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://twitter.com/USC_Hoops/status/1721767783053332528">Isaiah Collier made his USC debut</a>&nbsp;with 18 points, including 15 in the first half. He added six assists and received a standing ovation when he went to the bench after fouling out with 4:50 to play.

“I thought Isaiah played a great first half, first game on the big stage here in Las Vegas. I thought it was important for us to get out to a fast start,” USC coach Andy Enfield said. “I thought Boogie and Isaiah really controlled the tempo in the first half. Isaiah got downhill and was able to get to the rim, made some great passes. ... I was proud of the six assists and 7 of 9 from the field. Very efficient tonight.”

<a href="https://twitter.com/USC_Hoops/status/1721757894662840355">Kobe Johnson</a>&nbsp;finished with 16 points for the Trojans, and Joshua Morgan had 11. USC shot 31 of 60 from the floor (51.7%).

Tyler Perry led Kansas State with 22 points. Cam Carter scored 15, and David N’Guessan had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

“This is exactly why we came here,” Wildcats coach Jerome Tang said. “This is a really good USC team. High-level players. The great thing is that we don’t have to wait for a month or two weeks or before the Big 12 to find out the things that we need to work on. It was very much exposed. ... We did a couple of good things and a whole bunch of not-so-good things.”

A strong defensive team last season, the Trojans limited the Wildcats to 31% shooting (22 of 71).

USC held its opponents under 40% in 19 of 33 games last season and finished eighth in the country in field goal percentage defense at 39.3%.

Kansas State, which reached the Elite Eight in March, dropped to 4-2 all-time against the Trojans.

<a href="https://apnews.com/article/usc-trojans-bronny-james-lebron-565ce3030ea6ef45d935114eb58c5e00">Bronny James wore grey team sweats</a>&nbsp;and cheered his USC teammates from the bench. The son of NBA career scoring leader LeBron James is still on his way back from suffering a cardiac arrest during a summer workout. LeBron James said last month that his son had surgery to repair a congenital heart condition that caused the collapse.

Kansas State: The Wildcats opened their season away from home for the first time since losing 73-64 to BYU in 2002. Kansas State dropped to 12-17 when starting outside Manhattan, Kansas.

USC: Collier’s performance came on the heels of an impressive one by fellow freshman JuJu Watkins, who led USC’s 21st-ranked women’s team to an 83-74 win over No. 7 Ohio State. Collier and Watkins were considered by many the consensus No. 1 recruits for 2023.

USC hosts Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have hired manager Craig Counsell away from Milwaukee, landing the former big leaguer with a record-breaking contract and firing David Ross in a tandem of surprising moves. The 53-year-old Counsell became the majors' highest paid manager with a five-year contract worth more than $40 million. That's according to a person with knowledge of the deal who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the terms weren't announced. Ross went 262-284 in four seasons with Chicago, winning the NL Central in 2020 in his first year in charge. Harden has 17 in debut, but Clippers fall to Knicks after starting their four stars together

NEW YORK (AP) — James Harden scored 17 points in his first game of the season, but the Los Angeles Clippers fell too far behind with a rough start to the fourth quarter and the New York Knicks beat them 111-97. At times, such as when Harden raced up the floor and found a cutting Kawhi Leonard for a layup, it was easy to see why the Clippers' new four-star system can be so potent. (AP) — A former college football staffer shared documents with Michigan that showed a Big Ten opponent had spreadsheets of the Wolverines' signs last year obtained before his team played Michigan. The material relied on intelligence gathered from multiple conference schools that had already played the Wolverines, according to the former staffer. He says he has since given Michigan the material along with screenshots of text-message exchanges with staffers at other Big Ten schools. The alleged actions are potentially in violation of the Big Ten's sportsmanship policy. Michigan is under NCAA investigation for impermissible scouting.

The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team looks to go 3-0 in the early going of the 2023-24 season on Tuesday night as the Allen Red Devils come to the Sports Arena.

Tipoff for the non-conference battle is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 7:15 p.m. with Glen Grunwald (PBP) and Dan Naccarato (color) calling the action. The game will also be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 7:15 p.m.

The Blue Dragons inched two victories closer to becoming the first NJCAA men's basketball program with 1,900 all-time victories - Hutchinson is No. 1 in the NJCAA with 1,896 all-time wins - with a pair of wins on opening weekend at the BSN Sports Tip-Off Classic.

The Dragons won their 16th consecutive season opener with a 91-82 victory over North Idaho last Friday at the Sports Arena. Six Blue Dragons scored in double figures led by 14 points each from J.P. Ricks and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/thomas_kamryn_j9zm">Kamryn Thomas</a>. The Dragons hit 12 3-pointers and forced 32 Cardinal turnovers.

Then on Saturday, the Dragon scored 57 points in the second half to pull away from No. 23 NEO for a 102-84 victory.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/simon_valentino_8svq">Valentino Simon</a>&nbsp;scored a team-high 19 points and Dre Weathers added a career-high 17 points to power the Blue Dragons to the victory.

Allen enters play on Tuesday night also 2-0 with a pair of victories over KCAC junior varsity teams.

First-year head coach Patrick Nee saw his Red Devils defeat the Ottawa University JV 86-68 last Tuesday and the Friends University JV 97-68 on Saturday in Iola.

The Red Devils have been balanced offensively through their first two games with six players averaged in double figures. Dante Jackson is averaging a team-high 17.0 points, while Grayson Ryan and Killian Spellman are averaging 16.0 points per game.

Tuesday's matchup will be the 54th all-time meeting between Hutchinson and Allen. The Blue Dragons own a 44-9 all-time series record with Hutchinson winning the last meeting 92-84 in the opening round of the 2020 Region VI Tournaments.

Allen dropped to Division II two seasons ago.

At halftime, the 2023 Jayhawk Conference champion Blue Dragon football team will be honored.

Fresh off two impressive opening-weekend victories, the Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team plays its third of six non-conference games on Tuesday night against Neosho County.

Tipoff at the Hutchinson Sports Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 5:15 p.m. with Sean Boston (play-by-play) and Dan Naccarato (color) calling the action. The game will be streamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network.

Hutchinson (2-0) opened the season with two victories in the BSN Sports Tip-Off Classic, defeating Eastern Oklahoma State 87-56 and NEO 82-43 this past weekend.

Against NEO, the Blue Dragons had three players post double-doubles -&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wbkb/2023-24/bios/jackson_hailey_x66o">Hailey Jackson</a>&nbsp;(12 points/10 rebounds),&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wbkb/2023-24/bios/duffy_monae_og8s">Monae Duffy</a>&nbsp;(14 points/12 rebounds) and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wbkb/2023-24/bios/horyna_bree_rg28">Bree Horyna</a>&nbsp;(11 points/12 rebounds.

The Blue Dragons posted back-to-back games of 60 or more rebounds over the weekend. The 63 rebounds against NEO were the seventh most in Hutchinson single-game history.

Hutchinson averaged 84.5 points per game, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, but only 26.5 percent from 3-point range. Defensively, the Blue Dragons allowed 49.5 points per game. Opponents shot just 25.6 percent from the field.

Neosho County (1-0) won its season opener on Saturday, defeating the Friends University Junior Varsity 112-57 in Chanute.

Five Panthers scored in double figures led by Myah Coleman's 16 points. Neosho County's defense had an incredible 35 steals in the game.

Hutchinson and Neosho County used to be KJCCC opponents, but the Panthers dropped to Division II two seasons ago.

Tuesday's meeting is the 30th in series history. The Blue Dragons own a 27-2 all-time lead in the series with Neosho County. The Blue Dragons have won the last eight meetings, the last was a 100-58 victory in 2021 at the Sports Arena.

This will be a three-game week for the Blue Dragons. After Tuesday', the Dragons will play Labette and Redlands at the Barton Classic on Friday and Saturday in Great Bend.

For the eighth-straight week, the Blue Dragons received 9 of 10 first-place votes and Iowa Western received the other first-place vote.

This will be the second-straight season that the Blue Dragons and Reivers meet in the regular season as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the national polls. Last season the Blue Dragons rallied late to defeat Iowa Western 29-27 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

This will be the first 1 vs. 2 matchup at Gowans Stadium since October 21, 2010 when No. 2 Hutchinson played host to No. 1 Butler.

Hutchinson has now been ranked in 30 consecutive NJCAA rankings.

Kilgore (7-1) remained No. 3 in Monday's rankings, but there is a new No. 4 as Copiah-Lincoln (8-1) edged past Snow College for fourth place.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Hunter Dickinson had seven points, two rebounds and a block in the first 90 seconds of his Kansas career Monday night, then made a trio of 3-pointers that showed the 7-foot-2 transfer from Michigan is more than just a beast on the block.

Not surprisingly, his newfound fans inside Allen Fieldhouse responded with waves of adulation.

“I was telling somebody, ‘I’m used to the opposing fans being this loud and more boos than cheers,'" Dickinson said after leading the top-ranked Jayhawks to a 99-56 wipeout of North Carolina Central on college basketball's opening night.

“It was real fun to have people on my side for once,” added Dickinson, whose decision to leave the Wolverines left angry fans in his wake. “The atmosphere was insane. I've been hearing about it during my recruiting, and when I committed, and I was hearing so much about Allen Fieldhouse. And it lived up to it.”

Dickinson lived up to the hype, too, finishing with 21 points, eight boards and five assists.

Nic Timberlake had 13 points, KJ Adams scored 12 and Dajuan Harris Jr. dished out 10 assists for the Jayhawks, who led 59-17 by halftime before coasting over the final 20 minutes to their 51st consecutive home-opening win.

Ja'Darius Harris had 12 points to lead the Eagles.

“We have 10 new guys who really, none of them have really played Division I basketball," longtime NC Central coach LeVelle Moton said. “You play this type of game, you get their attention early.”

Any doubt about the outcome was gone midway through the first half, when the Jayhawks went on a 20-2 run to take a 40-11 lead. McCullar scored eight during the spurt, and transfer forward Parker Braun added a highlight ally-oop dunk.

"The first 25 minutes, that ball moved" Jayhawks coach Bill Self said. "Seemed to me we got everything we wanted, even when we didn’t score."

Dickinson had 17 points, seven boards and four assists by halftime; the Eagles had 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

“You have to pray, You have to go to church and get a strong service in,” Moton said of matching up with Dickinson. “He's going to be a problem, and he's not just going to be a problem for North Carolina Central. He's going to be a problem for everyone.”

As impressive as the Jayhawks were offensively, piling up 34 assists on 39 field goals while shooting nearly 70% from the field, they were just as good on defense. NC Central was just 6 of 23 from 3 and shot 23% from the field.

“Coach has been on us pretty much every practice, just getting the defense right,” Timberlake said. “We came out storming.”

Kansas guard Johnny Furphy played with no limitations after dealing with shin splints during the preseason. Fellow freshman Jamari McDowell was not suited up after a minor injury in practice but should be back this week.

NC Central will find life much easier in the MEAC, where the Eagles were picked to finish third this season.

Kansas had struggled in exhibitions against Illinois and Fort Hays State from beyond the 3-point line but went 13 of 23 against the Eagles. That included a 9-of-12 mark in the first half.

NC Central plays Virginia-Lynchburg on Thursday night.

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;– Senior&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/tylor-perry/11222">Tylor Perry</a>&nbsp;was named to the preseason Watch List on Monday (Nov. 6) for the 2024 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Men's Player of the Year Award, which is presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.&nbsp;

Perry was among 50 players named to the Watch List, which includes six other players from the Big 12, including Texas'&nbsp;Max Abmas, Houston's&nbsp;L.J. Cryer&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jamal Shead&nbsp;and Kansas'&nbsp;Hunter Dickinson,&nbsp;Dajuan Harris Jr., and&nbsp;Kevin McCullar Jr.

It is the first watch list for Perry this season and the second by a K-State player this season after junior wing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/arthur-kaluma/11226">Arthur Kaluma</a>&nbsp;was selected to the preseason Watch list for the 2024 Julius Erving Award, which recognizes the top small forward. Both Perry and Kaluma were honorable mention selections to the 2023 Preseason All-Big 12 Team.

Although they were not named to the preseason team, former Wildcats&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/keyontae-johnson/9899">Keyontae Johnson</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/markquis-nowell/9650">Markquis Nowell</a>&nbsp;were both among 28 players selected to the 2022-23 Naismith Player of the Year Midseason Team, while Johnson was one of 10 semi-finalists for the award.

Perry and his Wildcat teammates open the 2023-24 season tonight against No. 21/22 USC (0-0) in the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas at 9 p.m., CT on TNT. They will face off against a pair of Naismith Watch List members in USC's&nbsp;Isaiah Collier&nbsp;and&nbsp;Boogie Ellis.

A 5-foot-11, 182-pound guard, Perry transferred to K-State for his final season of eligibility in May after a decorated 2-year career (2021-23) at North Texas, where he led the Mean Green to 56 total wins, including a school-record 31 in 2022-23, the 2023 NIT Championship and 2022 Conference USA regular-season title. In addition to being the 2023 C-USA Player of the Year and NIT Most Outstanding Player, he was twice named to the C-USA First Team (2022, 2023) while was the league's Sixth Man of the Year as a junior in 2022.

Perry is approaching 2,000 career points in his college career, including stints at both Coffeyville Community College (2019-21) and North Texas. He finished his Mean Green career with 1,043 points on 43.1 percent (299-of-694) shooting from the field, including 41.3 percent (184-of-445) from 3-point range, and 85.9 percent (261-of-304) from the free throw line. He was the Mean Green's leading scorer (17.3 ppg.) in 2022-23 while leading the Conference USA in 3-point field goal percentage (41.3), free throw percentage (87.2) and minutes (34.2).

Following tonight's game with the Trojans, the Wildcats return home for two games in a 3-day span, first in the home opener against Bellarmine (0-0) on Friday, Nov. 10, followed by matchup with South Dakota State (0-0) on Monday, Nov. 13.

ATLANTA&nbsp;– The Kansas men’s basketball trio of Hunter Dickinson, Dajuan Harris Jr. and Kevin McCullar Jr. have been named to the 2023-24 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Men’s preseason 50 watch list the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Monday, the opening day of the season. Kansas is the only team with three players on the list and one of eight schools with multiple players.

Kansas has had two previous winners of the Naismith Trophy with Danny Manning in 1988 and Frank Mason III in 2017.

On most every preseason national player of the year watch list, and recently named to the 2024 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award watch list, Dickinson is the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, becoming the first player in conference history to earn both honors in the same season.&nbsp;A fourth-year transfer from Michigan, Dickinson earned many national and conference honors with the Wolverines, including Consensus All-America Second Team in 2021. The 7-foot-2 Alexandria, Virginia, center was a three-time All-Big Ten selection with first team honors in 2022 and 2023. Dickinson averaged 17.2 points and 8.4 rebounds for his career and led Michigan in points and rebounds each of the last three seasons. Dickinson has compiled career statistics of 1,617 points, 787 rebounds and 149 blocked shots entering 2023-24. A general studies major, Dickinson was named to the All-Big Ten Academic Team in 2022 and 2023.

On the Jerry West Award preseason watch list and a Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection, McCullar is a three-time All-Big 12 selection, with two coming while at Texas Tech and an all-conference third-team honoree while at Kansas last season. The San Antonio guard was a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year semifinalist in 2021-22 and 2022-23 and was on the Big 12 All-Defensive team last season. In 2022-23, McCullar averaged 10.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game and was third in the Big 12 with seven double-doubles. A 2023 KU graduate, McCullar enters 2023-24 with 1,040 points, 589 rebounds, 231 assists and 178 steals for his career.

Named Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by the league coaches and on the Bob Cousy Award preseason watch list, Harris was the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The guard from Columbia, Missouri, averaged 8.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game last season. A two-year starter, including on the 2022 NCAA Championship team, Harris has led the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio each of the last two seasons. In 2022 and 2023, Harris was named All-Big Honorable Mention and to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. For his career, Harris has played in 106 games with 77 starts at KU and ranks 14th on the KU career assists list with 455 and is tied for 15th on the career steals list with 165. Additionally, Harris is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection.

In late January the Naismith Trophy will name a top 15 midseason team. In early March 2024 the award will announce 10 national semifinalists and later that month name four finalists. The Naismith Trophy Men’s Player of the Year will be awarded April 7, the Sunday prior to the NCAA title game.

Gregory, the Big 12 Conference's top returning scorer from the 2022-23 season, established career season-highs in every statistical category including: scoring (648; 18.5 ppg), field goals made and attempted (201-of-489), three-point field goals made and attempted (84-of-257), free throws made and attempted (162-of-193), rebounding (187; 5.3 rpg), assists (71; 2.0 apg) and steals (24; 0.7 spg).

The product of Tulsa, Oklahoma, ranked second in the Big 12 in scoring (18.5 ppg), third in free throw percentage (.839), sixth in field goal percentage (.411) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.4) and eighth for minutes played per game (34.21) She was second in the Big 12 with 19 games of 20 or more points.

Gregory, an All-Big 12 First Team selection in 2023, was one of five players in the nation last season to average 18 or more points, five or more rebounds and two or more 3-point field goals made per game. She was the first player in K-State history and one of four in the nation with 625 or more points, 160 or more made free throws and 80 or more connections from beyond the arc.

She ranked second in school history for free throws made in a season (162) and set the school record for free throws made by a senior in a season.

Prior to missing the 2022-23 season due to the rehabilitation from a knee injury, Lee was a First Team All-American by The Athletic and Sports Illustrated, a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press and USBWA, a Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention recipient, a finalist for the 2022 Lisa Leslie Award, a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection by the league's coaches and garnered her first selection to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in the 2021-22 season.

Lee completed the 2021-22 season with career-highs in a number of statistical categories including points (727), points per game (22.0), field goals made and attempted (296-526), free throws made and attempted (135-175), rebounds (339), blocks (95), steals (39), assists (23) and double-doubles (20).&nbsp;

In her career, Lee ranks ninth in school history for points scored with 1,661, sixth for rebounds with 887, third for blocks with 235, sixth for field goals made with 665 and sixth for free throws made with 331. She is also second for double-doubles with 49.

In addition to this honor, Gregory was named to the 2023-24 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List which is award annually to the nation's top shooting guard. LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Fresh off a 28-21 victory at Iowa State on Saturday night, Kansas football climbed in the national rankings on Sunday, as the Jayhawks are ranked No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25 and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Kansas is among the big movers in the polls this week, climbing three positions in the AP Poll while moving up five spots in the Coaches Poll. This marks the fourth time this season that Kansas has been ranked in each of the polls and the first time that KU has appeared in the rankings in back-to-back weeks. Kansas’ win at Iowa State was the program’s first win as a ranked team since then-No. 16 KU defeated Iowa State 41-36 in 2009.
