LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Following a week in which she led her team to a 2-0 record with back-to-back 20-point performances, Kansas guard S’Mya Nichols has been named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week.

This is the first career honor for Nichols and the first Big 12 weekly honor claimed by a Jayhawk since Taiyanna Jackson was named Player of the Week on February 13, 2023. She is the first KU player to be named Big 12 Freshman of the Week since Ioanna Chatzileonti claimed the award twice early in the 2020-21 season.

A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Nichols has had an exceptional start to her collegiate career, scoring in double figures seven times in her first nine games as a Jayhawk. She took her scoring to another level in KU’s wins over Houston Christian and Wichita State, however, setting a new career-high in both games.

Nichols scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting as she led Kansas to a 79-57 victory over Houston Christian on Wednesday evening at Allen Fieldhouse. She added four rebounds and four assists in just under 25 minutes of action. In Sunday’s 76-56 win at Wichita State, Nichols was even more efficient as she knocked down 10-of-12 field goal attempts, including her lone three-pointer as she finished with a new career-high 23 points. She also had four assists, one steal and one rebound while playing 33 minutes.

For the week, Nichols averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. She shot 69.2 percent from the field, connecting on 18-of-26 field goal attempts, while also shooting 50.0 percent (3-of-6) from three-point range.

Kansas is 5-4 on the year following its victories last week and the Jayhawks will carry a two-game winning streak into a home game against Central Arkansas on Saturday, Dec. 16 at Allen Fieldhouse. That game will tip off at 4 p.m. CT and be broadcast by Big 12 NOW on ESPN+.

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;– Junior&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/arthur-kaluma/11226">Arthur Kaluma</a>&nbsp;was selected as the Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday afternoon (December 11) after averaging a double-double in helping Kansas State to wins over Villanova and LSU last week.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Kaluma averaged 21.5 points on 76.2 percent (16-of-21) shooting, including 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from 3-point range, to go with 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 39.6 minutes per game in a home overtime win over Villanova on Tuesday (December 5) and road win over LSU on Saturday (December 9).

Kaluma had his best night so far in a Wildcat uniform in overtime win over Villanova, as he scored a game and season-high 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and 3-of-3 from the free throw line to go with 9 rebounds and 4 assists in a season-best 44 minutes. The 26 points was one shy of his career-high of 27 he had against BYU while playing at Creighton in 2022. It was his seventh career 20-point game, including his third this season. He scored 17 of his 26 points in the first half on 6-of-7 field goals.

Kaluma continued his impressive play in the road win at LSU, recording his fifth career double-double, including his second as a Wildcat, with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, to go with a game-high 11 rebounds in 35 minutes. He has now scored in double figures in 48 career games, including eight this season.

Kaluma is the first Wildcat to earn a weekly honor this season and the first since&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/markquis-nowell/9650">Markquis Nowell</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/keyontae-johnson/9899">Keyontae Johnson</a>&nbsp;swept Player and Newcomer of the Week accolades on Feb. 27, 2023. 🏀 MBB: K-State's Kaluma named Big 12 Player of the Week

<a>MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;–</a>&nbsp;Kansas State senior left guard&nbsp;Cooper Beebe&nbsp;added two more All-America designations on Monday as he was named a First Team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and Associated Press, the organizations announced. In addition to Beebe, tight end&nbsp;Ben Sinnott&nbsp;was named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press.

Beebe is now a first-team member on three of the five All-America teams used by the NCAA to select its Consensus All-America teams, as he was also named a Walter Camp First Team All-American last Friday. The American Football Coaches Association will publish its All-America team on Tuesday, while&nbsp;Sporting News&nbsp;will announce its team on Wednesday. Beebe is trying to become the first Wildcat offensive lineman ever and the 12th&nbsp;overall player in school history to be named a Consensus All-American.

A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Beebe has also been named a First Team All-American by CBS Sports, FOX Sports, Pro Football Focus,&nbsp;The Athletic&nbsp;and&nbsp;USA TODAY.

Beebe was the first Wildcat ever to be named a finalist for the Outland Trophy, while he was also one of 12 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award and one of 16 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy. He was named the 2023 Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year by the league’s coaches, the second-straight season he earned the award to become one of just five players to pick up the honor twice in a career.

A 47-game starter in his career, Beebe has allowed only five sacks among his 1,450 career pass blocking snaps (according to Pro Football Focus) with four of those coming in his redshirt freshman season of 2020, and he has surrendered only one sack in his last 41 games.

Beebe anchors an offensive line that has helped the Wildcats enter bowl season ranking 13th nationally in rushing offense (199.7 yards per game), tied for 15th rushing touchdowns (30) and eighth in third-down conversions (49.4%), the latter of which includes a 62.2% mark (61-of-98) when needing 1-6 yards. K-State also ranks 23rd&nbsp;nationally in red-zone offense (90.2%), while the Cats are tops in red-zone touchdown percentage (78.69%).

&nbsp;WICHITA –&nbsp;Wichita State dropped its second-straight home game, falling 76-56 to in-state foe Kansas Sunday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena.

S'Mya Nichols had a game-high 23 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 10-for-12 from the field, to lead the Jayhawks (5-4) past the Shockers (4-6) for the fourth-consecutive meeting.

Despite the Shockers shooting their second-best three-point (.333) and free throw (.722) percentages of the year, the offense still struggled to find its stride, scoring just 11 points in the third quarter. Wichita State's third quarter has been its lowest scoring quarter in six games this year.

Senior transfer from Miami (OH),&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/sierra-morrow/7623">Sierra Morrow</a>, made her long-awaited Shocker debut after the NCAA approved her transfer waiver, tying for a team-high 12 points off the bench and recording a team-high 6 rebounds.

<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/aniya-bell/7506">Aniya Bell</a>&nbsp;entered the game partway through the third quarter and shot 3-for-4 from behind the arc to tie with Morrow for a team-high and career-high 12 points, hitting back-to-back threes in the fourth quarter to spark a 7-0 run for the Shockers.

The Shockers grabbed 19 offensive rebounds on their way to out-rebounding their opponent for the third-straight game (37-27) but only scored nine points on those second chances.

Wichita State held KU's Holly Kersgieter, who averages 12 points per game, to just 2-for-5 and six points.

The Jayhawks hit three triples in the first quarter to set the tone for the game as they went on to shoot 9-for-19 (.474) from three, the most three pointers the Shockers have allowed this season.

The Shockers were only down three after the first quarter and hung around in the second quarter with four points apiece from&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/tre-zure-jobe/7624">Tre'Zure Jobe</a>&nbsp;and Morrow, but Kansas went on a 5-0 run to increase its lead to eight going into halftime.

The Jayhawks turned that 5-0 run into a 21-2 run as they scored six unanswered out of the break and led by as many as 22 in the third quarter.

Bell created a spark for Wichita State as the Shockers fought to within nine in the fourth quarter, but Kansas didn't take its foot off the gas and finished the game 30-for-51 (.588) from the field, the highest field goal percentage by a Shocker opponent this season.

(AP) — Josh Allen threw for 233 yards with touchdowns running and throwing, the Buffalo Bills kicked a go-ahead field-goal with 1:54 to go and then hold on for a 20-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs had time even after Tyler Bass had given Buffalo the lead, and they thought they had regained the lead just moments later. But an offside penalty on Kadarius Toney wiped out a 49-yard touchdown pass that included a lateral to Toney, and the Bills eventually held on fourth down to end the game. The Chiefs have lost four of their past six games.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Dak Prescott threw for two touchdowns, Brandon Aubrey made four field goals and the Dallas Cowboys pulled even in the NFC East with their 15th consecutive home victory, 33-13 over the Philadelphia Eagles. Aubrey extended his NFL record by going 30-for-30 on field goals to start his career. The Cowboys weren’t deterred by Jalen Carter’s 42-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Dallas won its fifth consecutive game since a loss at Philadelphia that gave the Eagles a two-game division lead. The Eagles lost three fumbles and didn’t score an offensive touchdown. Quarterback Jalen Hurts lost consecutive games for the first time since October 2021.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert fractured the index finger on his right hand during the second quarter of Los Angeles’ game against the Denver Broncos. Coach Brandon Staley said after the the Chargers’ 24-7 loss the team will do more tests before determining how long Herbert will be out. It is a short week for the Bolts, who are at Las Vegas on Thursday night.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Minnesota and Las Vegas played the lowest-scoring NFL game in 16 years, with Greg Joseph’s 36-yard field goal with 1:57 left giving the Vikings a 3-0 victory over the Raiders. It was the first 3-0 game since Pittsburgh beat Miami on Nov. 26, 2007, the third in the past 40 years and the seventh in the Super Bowl era. Joseph’s kick ensured the game wouldn’t end regulation scoreless for the first time since the New York Giants played the host Detroit Lions to a 0-0 tie on Nov. 7, 1943. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Josh Allen threw for 233 yards with touchdowns running and throwing, the Bills kicked a go-ahead field goal with 1:54 to go and, thanks to a crucial penalty on Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney, Buffalo held on to beat Kansas City 20-17 on Sunday.

The game was tied 17-all when the Bills (7-6) took over with about seven minutes left. They converted on three third downs, one courtesy of a penalty on Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson, before Tyler Bass kicked his 39-yarder for the lead.

But two pass plays that Buffalo called just before the two-minute warning — both incomplete — left time for the Chiefs (8-5) to work.

And moments later, they thought they'd taken the lead when Patrick Mahomes hit Travis Kelce over the middle, and the high school QB threw far across the field to Toney, who ran the rest of the 49 yards for a touchdown.

Only one problem: Toney had lined up offside. The penalty wiped out the play.

The Chiefs still had 1:12 left to get within range of big-legged kicker Harrison Butker, but Mahomes threw incomplete on his next two passes, and his fourth-and-15 throw across the middle of the field found nothing but grass.

James Cook had 58 yards rushing and caught five passes for 83 yards and a score for Buffalo, which finally proved it could win a close game. The Bills had been 2-6 in games decided by six points or fewer, including a pair of overtime losses, and they had lost a lead in the final two minutes in three of their losses.

Mahomes finished with 271 yards passing and a touchdown with an interception, though he was pressured all day by a healthy Buffalo pass rush. Rashee Rice had seven catches for 72 yards and the score.

It was the fourth loss in six games for the Chiefs, whose chances of the No. 1 seed in the AFC are quickly slipping away.

The Chiefs continued a recent track record of lousy starts. Mahomes was intercepted by A.J. Epenesa on their first series, they punted on each of their next three, and it wasn't until the closing minutes of the first half that Kansas City was able to sustain a drive that ended with Jerick McKinnon's touchdown run.

By that point, the Bills had already reached the end zone twice.

The first touchdown came when Cook was unchecked coming out of the backfield, caught a flick from Allen and breezed 25 yards for the score. The second came at the end of a 73-yard drive, when Allen kept the ball over the right side and was stood up at the Kansas City 4, only for the entire Bills offense to gather behind him and shove into the end zone.

If the Eagles have the “tush push,” the Bills offered their “team trample.”

Buffalo added a field goal out of halftime, but momentum quickly tilted Kansas City's way. Mahomes led a nine-play, 75-yard march that ended with Rice's touchdown catch, then their defense forced back-to-back punts, before another drive ended with Butker's tying field goal with 11 1/2 minutes to go.

Buffalo lost Epenesa in the first quarter, shortly after he had batted a pass into the air and picked it off. ... FS Micah Hyde left late in the first half with a stinger. He was replaced by Taylor Rapp in the second half.

Kansas City RB Isiah Pacheco (shoulder), LT Donovan Smith (neck) and LB Drue Tranquill (concussion) were inactive.

Kansas City visits New England next Sunday.

The game was the only one in the tournament that doesn't count in the standings, but there was still plenty on the line. In addition to taking home a trophy, Lakers players on standard contracts each made $500,000 and the Pacers received $200,000 apiece. Players on two-way deals take home half those amounts.

NEW YORK (AP) — LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has won the Heisman Trophy in a decisive victory. Daniels is the first Heisman winner to be part of a team team that failed to play for a conference championship since 2016, when Lamar Jackson won for a Louisville team that also went 9-3. Daniels is also LSU's third winner overall. Daniels, who transferred from Arizona State in 2022, is the fifth quarterback in the last seven seasons to win the Heisman after transferring. Hutchinson (12-0, 6-0 KJCCC) used a 21-0 run in the first half to build a 33-14 halftime lead.&nbsp;

Cowley (7-6, 1-6) went on an eight minute scoring drought in the first half during the Blue Dragon run.&nbsp;

The Blue Dragons turned up the defensive intensity in the third quarter and knocked down five three-point shots to lead 61-31 after three.&nbsp;

Hailey Jackson led the Blue Dragons with a career-high 26 points. Kiki Smith finished with 17 and Monae Duffy added 12.&nbsp;

Hutchinson out-rebounded the Tigers, 45-30, and the Blue Dragons assisted on 20 of 27 field goals made.&nbsp;

🏀 WBB: Jackson leads No. 11 Hutch to win

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Hunter Dickinson had 13 points and 16 rebounds, Kevin McCullar Jr. and KJ Adams had 17 points each and No. 2 Kansas beat rival Missouri 73-64 on Saturday.

The Jayhawks closed out the first half on a 14-0 run started by a Elmarko Jackson's 3-pointer to turn a 2-point deficit into a 41-29 halftime lead.

“They were better than us to start the game, but that run was the difference in the game,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. "We made a lot of good basketball plays in the last six minutes of the first half.”

McCullar Jr. had 14 points and six rebounds in the first half.

Sean East II led Missouri with 21 points and Nick Honor scored 17, but the Tigers were without one of their guards, Caleb Grill. Grill injured his non-shooting wrist last Sunday and is expected to miss 5-7 weeks. He averages 8.4 points and nearly six rebounds per game.

“We were creating for one another and we just wanted to use the ball screens effectively and I thought we did that well," Honor said. "We’ve got to learn how to play for the full 40 minutes.”

Missouri kept it close in the second half outscoring Kansas 35-32, but it wasn’t enough to pull off an upset of their border foe and former Big 12 rival.

“I thought our guys played an unbelievable first half other than the last five of the first half and first five of the second half,” Missouri coach Dennis Gates said. "We had an excellent game plan but weren’t able to put a full 40 minutes together. I thought our guys grew up a little bit today. I think we had multiple guys make big plays.”

Kansas dominated in the paint scoring 42 points down low, but were careless with the ball and committed 16 turnovers, which kept Missouri in the game in the first half.

“The food tastes better and the drinks are colder the night that we beat Missouri," Self said. "I’m leaving out of here really happy that we won, but also that we have got to play better.”

The Jayhawks, who improved to 9-1, shot 25 of 56 while Missouri went 24 for 58 from the floor and fell to 7-3.

Prior to the game, Thomas Robinson had his No. 0 jersey retired. He led the Jayhawks to the NCAA title game in 2012 and was named a Consensus All-America First Team that same year.

Missouri: After jumping out a quick lead, they went cold to end the first half and never bounced back.

Kansas: Had a slow start, but their defense locked down in the final few minutes of the first half and never looked back after that. They have their first true road game in their next contest.

LSU outshot Kansas State 59%-52% in the first half but trailed 42-34 at the break. Tylor Perry and Kaluma opened the second half with 3-pointers for K-State to keep the pressure on LSU. Later, an 8-0 run by the Wildcats pushed the lead to 56-39 near the 14-minute mark.

LSU fought back and an 11-0 run got the Tigers within three points near the 10-minute mark. At that point, the teams that shot better than 50% in the first half both went ice cold. In the next eight minutes, K-State made three baskets and LSU one, leaving the Wildcats with a 67-57 lead with two minutes to go. K-State outscored LSU 13-3 over those final two minutes, including the final six points of the game.

Kaluma had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats (8-2). Perry had 14 points and six assists, and Will McNair Jr. scored 13 points. Carter had eight rebounds.

Jordan Wright scored 19 points and Jalen Reed added 12 for LSU (5-4).

The game was LSU's first nonconference homecourt matchup against a Power Six team since December 2015. Earlier this season, the Tigers played at Syracuse and vs. Wake Forest at a neutral site.

Fort Hays State Men's Basketball will face a second-consecutive NABC ranked opponent on Saturday when it hosts Missouri Western at 4 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers enter at 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the MIAA, while the Griffons are 7-1 overall and also 2-1 in the MIAA. Missouri Western is currently ranked No. 22 in the NABC Top 25.

The Tigers are coming off a 57-49 win over No. 17 ranked Northwest Missouri State on Thursday night. The victory snapped a long 16-game losing streak to the Bearcats that dated back to the 2012-13 season. The result also snapped a six-game string of losses to NABC ranked opponents inside of Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The Griffons are coming off their first loss of the season, a 93-90 loss at Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday night. UNK broke a tie at the buzzer by hitting a half-court shot. Missouri Western is 4-1 this season in games decided by four or less points.

Fort Hays State and Missouri Western are currently in a five-way tie for third in the MIAA standings. Only two teams remain unbeaten in MIAA play, which includes Central Oklahoma (3-0) and Emporia State (2-0).

Fort Hays State leads the all-time series with Missouri Western 37-19. The Tigers and Griffons split their regular season series in 2022-23 with the Griffons taking a seven-point win at home before the Tigers claimed a 27-point win in Hays. Kaleb Hammeke&nbsp;averaged 20.5 points in the two meetings last year, while Elijah Nnanabu&nbsp;scored 15 in both contests. JaRon Thames led the Griffons in scoring in both meetings, averaging 14.0 points.

Hammeke continues to lead the Tigers in scoring this season at 14.5 points per game. Nnanabu adds 11.1 per game, while R.J. Crawford&nbsp;averages 10.9 per game. Crawford led the Tigers in scoring in the win over Northwest Missouri State on Thursday night with 16 points. Shaun Riley&nbsp;(5.4) and Traejon Davis&nbsp;(5.3) head the Tigers in rebounds per game, while Hammeke dishes out an average of 3.8 assists per game.

Thames is the top scorer for the Griffons so far this season at 16.9 points per game. Julius Dixon (14.6), Zion Swader (12.6) and Taye Fields (11.6) also average double figures for MWSU. Fields is the top rebounder at 9.6 per game and ranks second in the MIAA.

The final two teams not to suffer a Jayhawk Conference loss this season do battle at the Hutchinson Sports Arena on Saturday night as the pre-Christmas schedule wraps up.

The No. 19-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team (10-1, 5-0 KJCCC) squares off against the No. 11 Cowley Tigers (11-1, 6-0) at 7:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) with Glen Grunwald (PBP) and Dan Naccarato (color) calling the action. The game will be streamed live and free on the Blue Dragon Sports Network. The broadcasts begin at 7:15 p.m.

Hutchinson plays its second nationally ranked opponent this season. The Blue Dragons defeated then-No. 23 NEO 102-84 on Nov. 4 at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons have won six games in a row since its only loss of the season. Hutchinson extended the current win streak after a gutsy 82-73 win on Wednesday at Cloud County.

Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/simon_valentino_8svq">Valentino Simon</a>&nbsp;has posted two-straight double-doubles, going for season highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds in the victory over the Thunderbirds. Sophomore Dre Weathers added a career-high 20 points in the victory. The Blue Dragons blocked 13 shots against the T-Birds, including a career-best seven rejections from freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/daniel_edwin_trsy">Edwin Daniel</a>.

Hutchinson has 25 blocks in its last two games, led by Daniel's 13 blocks in the last two games.

Like the Blue Dragons, the Cowley Tigers started the season out of the national rankings. Cowley has reeled off nine-consecutive victories, including a huge road win over then-No. 6 Barton in Great Bend. Cowley vaulted all the way to No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Division I Men's rankings.

The Tigers won their ninth-straight game on Wednesday with a 76-55 victory at Dodge City. Corey Thomas had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers, who held the Conquistadors to 29-percent shooting.

Besides being atop the Jayhawk Conference standings heading into Saturday, the Blue Dragons and Tigers have one other thing in common this season. The only team to defeat both Hutchinson and Cowley is NOC-Tonkawa.

After Saturday's game, the Blue Dragons will have a 25-day holiday hiatus. Hutchinson returns with a nationally ranked road battle on January 3 at Butler.

The Blue Dragons (11-0, 5-0 KJCCC) now have the ninth-best start to a season in the program's 50-year history after an impressive 77-50 victory over the Cloud County Thunderbirds on Wednesday in Concordia.

Hutchinson held its seventh opponent this season to less than 30-percent shooting, limiting Cloud County to 27.9 percent from the field.

Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://hutchinson.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2023-24/bios/smith_kiki_x1vf">Kiki Smith</a>&nbsp;reached the 20-point mark for the third time this season with 26 points and the Blue Dragons shot 47.0 percent, turning the ball over only nine times in the victory over Cloud County.

Of the top nine best starts in program history, five of those seasons have been coached by John Ontjes.

Cowley started the season 7-0, but have dropped five games in a row entering Saturday evening. The Tigers (7-5, 1-5) dropped a 69-51 decision at No. 15 Dodge City on Wednesday. Cowley is playing through a rugged stretch of games in its schedule. The Tigers have also lost to No. 21 Coffeyville and No. 25 Barton.

The Tigers were stung by 12 Dodge City 3-pointers on Wednesday. Anna Przyszlak had 17 points and eight rebounds to pace Cowley. Jaiden Smith came off the bench to add 10 points.

Saturday's matchup will be the 56th in series history with the Tigers. Hutchinson owns a 31-24 series advantage, including 14-6 at the Sports Arena. The teams split home matches last season. Cowley won the first game 55-49 in Arkansas City, but the Blue Dragons returned the favor with a 91-70 victory over the Tigers at the Sports Arena.

BUHLER, Kan.-Julian Smith couldn't be out scored by his younger sister Kaia in Friday night game versus cross county rival Buhler, so he mixed in a couple of free throws to end the night with 26 points in route to an 84-58 win over the crusaders.

The two siblings hit a combined total of 12 three point baskets in the sweep over Buhler.

Kaia Smith connected with four trifecta's in the first half and led Hutch High's scoring attack with 21 total points to fuel a 50-44 win over the Crusaders.

The Salthawks had a comfortable 12 point lead at the half 27-15 but Buhler's freshman guard Ella Foss started connecting in the fourth quarter as Buhler got as close as three points on two different occasions before Azariah Dawes used a weak side rebound put-back late in the game to shut the door on the Crusaders.

Hutch High (2-0) travels to Salina South on Tuesday. Buhler (1-2) hosts McPherson.

In the boy's game, Buhler's junior guard Mitchel McDaniel opened the scoring with a right elbow three pointer, but the Salthawks answered back with three straight long range baskets by Tai Clark and Julian Smith combined to lead 9-3 early in the first quarter.
