It will be the 300th meeting between the schools in the sixth-most played rivalry in Division I men's basketball history. The teams have met every year since 1907, making it the second-longest active rivalry in Division I history.Kansas' 204 wins in the series are the most by one opponent in NCAA history with 57 coming in the Big 12 era (1997-present), including 47 in the regular season. TYLER, Texas (AP) — The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been arrested on at least his third charge of driving while intoxicated, according to Smith County, Texas, records. Patrick Mahomes Sr.'s bond was set at $10,000 and he was released Sunday, according to the records. Mahomes' arrest occurred just more than a week before his son leads his team into the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49er. The teams meet next Sunday in Las Vegas.

Wyndham Clark declared Pebble Beach winner when final round wiped out by weather

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Wyndham Clark is the winner of the AT&amp;T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The PGA Tour has canceled the final round because of wicked weather conditions that would linger into the next day and cause safety concerns. Clark's final stroke was to tap in for birdie Saturday. That gave him a course record 12-under 60 and a one-shot lead over Ludvig Aberg. He never had to hit another shot. Overnight rain saturated Pebble Beach, and raging wind that followed led the PGA Tour to postpone the final round with hopes of playing on Monday. Clark picked up the $3.6 million payoff.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid set for procedure to fix lateral meniscus in left knee

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will undergo an unspecified procedure this week to correct the injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee. The 76ers did not say how much time Embiid was expected to miss on Sunday night. The 76ers have a three-game homestand this week that opens Monday against Dallas. Embiid hurt his left knee Tuesday night in a loss to the Golden State Warriors. He underwent an MRI that revealed the injury.

Belichick coached the Patriots to six Super Bowl championships and 17 AFC East titles in a 19-year span. But the team struggled after quarterback Tom Brady left, with three losing seasons in four years and a 4-13 record in 2023 that led to Belichick's departure. Belichick thanked the fans for their passion and even poked fun at his reputation as a slovenly grouch.

HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong soccer fans and government have expressed their disappointment as Lionel Messi stayed on the bench for the full 90 minutes while Inter Miami defeated a Hong Kong XI 4-1 in the latest stop on the MLS team's preseason Asian tour. The Argentine has a hamstring strain and did not play as fans, who snapped up more than 38,000 tickets within an hour of them going on sale in December, could be heard booing in the late stages of the game and at the final whistle. Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino defended the decision. He said the eight-time Ballon D'Or winner could not be risked. Miami finishes its Asian tour in Japan on Wednesday when it plays Vissel Kobe.

Andy Reid celebrated his 25th season as a head coach with a masterful performance on the sideline and in the locker room.

The Kansas City Chiefs are one victory away from becoming the first NFL team in 19 years to win back-to-back Super Bowls. They’re here to face the San Francisco 49ers despite a midseason slump that could’ve ruined their repeat hopes.

This isn’t the best team Reid has coached but it just might be his best coaching job.

Sure, he still has Patrick Mahomes. But the two-time NFL and Super Bowl MVP had a subpar season by his lofty standards. He didn’t get much help from his wide receivers at times. They led the league in drops. Mahomes once again counted on star tight end Travis Kelce, who had a slight dip in production to go with a massive increase in global attention due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Reid made sure Kelce’s newfound celebrity status didn’t become a distraction.

After starting 6-1, the Chiefs lost five of eight games. At 9-6, they even had a shot to miss the playoffs and ended up with their most losses since 2017.

No chance Reid would let them stumble further. The Chiefs won the next two games to clinch their eighth straight AFC West title and have kept on winning in the playoffs, beating Miami at home in the wild card round, going on the road to beat Buffalo in the divisional round and No. 1-seeded Baltimore in the AFC championship game.

“Coach Reid just challenging every single person in this building to up the ante just one more step and just keep taking it up a notch every week from here on out,” Kelce said. “That’s why we love the big guy. You never fall astray from that kind of mentality no matter how many losses you have, no matter how close the games are and you’re just not finishing them. Coach Reid does a great job of re-channeling that mindset every single week and presenting a challenge against the defense or the offense or just the team we’re going against in the near future. This week, no better time to challenge everybody in that building. He’s got everyone fired up.”

Reid credits Mahomes and Kelce for their leadership, setting the tone for how the team should practice. He also praised general manager Brett Veach for adding players who fit that mentality.

“You’re not going to dog it with Pat Mahomes going full speed, Kelce going full speed,” Reid said. “They’re not going to allow you to do that first of all. Then you watch them, and you watch how they practice, you know it’s not a fit if they can’t do that. Brett is not going to bring in guys that dog, jog, whatever you want to call it.”

The Chiefs lost a Thursday night at Denver to a team that came in 2-5. Two weeks later, they lost a Super Bowl rematch at home to Philadelphia when Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped what should’ve been a go-ahead touchdown pass late in the game.

There was another prime-time loss at Green Bay on Dec. 3 followed by a loss at home to the Bills when Kadarius Toney’s TD off a lateral from Kelce was wiped out by an offside penalty on Toney.

A loss to the Raiders on Christmas was the third straight defeat at home and led Reid to make some adjustments. The offensive coaching staff decided to simplify a complex offense and five wins later the Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years.

“I think it gave our guys a nice little - for (lack of) a better term a wakeup call that, ‘Listen we need to step things up here. Things aren’t just going to fall in our lap,’” Reid said of the loss to Las Vegas. “We’re taking everyone’s best shot, here’s a team that went through some adversity, and they stepped up and were able to present themselves like they did. We were able to learn from it and move on. I felt all along though (that) we had the ability to do that, like I said, we need a little kick in the tail there.”

Reid has already won two Super Bowls and more games than any coach in the history of the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. He’ll end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame win or lose against the 49ers.

If the Chiefs win, it’ll be hard to argue that the 65-year-old Reid is getting even better with age.

Wichita State (9-13, 1-8) held a 14-point lead with less than 10:00 minutes to go in the game, but a furious Memphis rally resulted in a heartbreaking loss. The Tigers finished on a 25-9 run.

Behind three-pointers from Beverly and Rogers, Wichita State opened the game on an 8-0 run and led 11-6 at the first media timeout. After its hot start, Wichita State cooled off, missing seven of its next eight shots over a span of 4:00 minutes, but still held a 15-10 lead due to Memphis' even colder start from the field. 

The first meeting in Wichita just a few weeks ago was an up-tempo, high-scoring affair. The first half of the rematch was the opposite. Wichita State never trailed in the first 20 minutes despite shooting just 30 percent from the field.

Wichita State went into the half with a 30-24 lead after scoring six of the final eight points. The Shockers had just one turnover and attempted nine more free throws than the Tigers. Memphis had nine first half turnovers and was just 10-for-33 from the floor.

Turnovers on the first three possessions to begin the second half saw Memphis pull within one, but the Shockers settled down. A Rogers triple and five straight points from&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/ronnie-degray-iii/7581">Ronnie DeGray III</a>&nbsp;pushed Wichita State's lead right back to seven.

After a Memphis three-pointer made it 41-37, Wichita State blitzed the Tigers with a 9-0 run to take its largest lead, 50-37, with 9:43 to go. Four points from Bell, a Rogers triple and a DeGray steal and score had the Tigers out of sorts.

Wichita State grabbed its largest lead of 14 with 7:55 remaining, but Memphis refused to go away. A 12-4 answer brought the Tigers within six, 58-52, forcing&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/paul-mills/1128">Paul Mills</a>&nbsp;to take a timeout at the 4:07 mark.

Out of the timeout Memphis got a stop on the defensive end and then an offensive rebound led to a three-point play. Two missed&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/kenny-pohto/7584">Kenny Pohto</a>&nbsp;free throws on the Shockers' next trip resulted in a game-tying three-pointer from ones. Just like that Memphis had erased a 14-point deficit.

With all the momentum now gone, Wichita State punched back with back-to-back scores from Rogers and a Beverly breakaway dunk to go back in front, 62-58.

Two Jones free throws cut the lead to two and then Quinerly gave the Tigers their first lead of the day with 44 seconds on the clock. Following a timeout, Wichita State got an offensive rebound from DeGray and was fouled. He hit the first and missed the second, leaving the game tied at 63 with 12 seconds remaining.

Memphis used its final timeout and got the ball in Jones' hands, and he delivered with a stepback 15-footer, ending the Tigers' four-game losing streak.

Wichita State welcomes UTSA to Charles Koch Arena for the first time as a member of the AAC on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.&nbsp;&nbsp;

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Javon Small scored 18 points and Quion Williams recorded a double-double and Oklahoma State held on to beat Kansas State 75-72 on Saturday.

The Cowboys (10-12, 2-7 Big 12) have won two of their last three games and sent Kansas State (14-8, 4-5) to its fourth-straight loss. The Wildcats' last win came on Jan. 20 when they beat Oklahoma State at home 70-66.

Williams scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, reserve Jamyron Keller scored 12 points and Brandon Garrison and John-Michael Wright each scored 10 for the Oklahoma State.

Tylor Perry scored 19 points for Kansas State, Cam Carter scored 17, Alex Kaluma 14 and backup Will McNair Jr. 12.

Keller made 1 of 2 foul shots with 12.2 seconds left to provide the Cowboys with the game's final margin. Carter missed a 3-point attempt, and after recovering the long rebound, Perry gathered it in, drove to his left and put up a desperation 3 attempt that went right of the rim never touching the iron.

Oklahoma State never trailed in the second half.

After trailing for most of the first half, the Cowboys found a spark. Down 24-19 they proceeded to outscore Kansas State 12-3 over the final 6 1/2 minutes and led 29-27 at halftime.

The Wildcats host eighth-ranked Kansas on Monday. The Cowboys — losers of eight of nine — will enter the Big 12 gauntlet when they travel to face No. 4 Houston on Tuesday, heads to No. 23 Oklahoma on Feb. 10 and then hosts No. 22 BYU on Feb. 17.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Hunter Dickinson had 20 points to lead four Jayhawks in double figures as No. 8 Kansas beat No. 4 Houston 78-65 in front of a frenzied crowd on Saturday.

“That was our best crowd of the season,” Kansas coach Bill Self said, “and we’ve had some good ones.”

Kansas (18-4, 6-3 Big 12) got 17 points each from Kevin McCullar and Johnny Furphy, and 10 from KJ Adams.

The Jayhawks hit nine of their first 10 shots, helping them to a 23-11 lead at the second media timeout. The Cougars, who lead the nation in field goal defense (35.5%) allowed Kansas to shoot 68% (17 of 25) in the first half.

“I didn’t anticipate getting off to that good to start,” Self said. “We thought the best way to attack them was to use all 50 feet wide and 47 feet long, and then hopefully be able to play behind their aggressiveness to start the game. We did that perfectly.”

Houston (19-3, 6-3) was led by L.J. Cryer with 24 points while J’Wan Roberts and Emanuel Sharp scored 11 points each.

Houston came into the game with the nation’s best scoring defense at 52.9 points per game allowed and had not allowed more than 72 points in a game all season. The Jayhawks hit 53 points with 14:17 left in the second half on a layup by Dickinson.

The Jayhawks led 43-28 at halftime. The Cougars had not allowed more than 30 points in a first half all season.

“A blindfolded person would do better than we did,” Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said. “The day was all about the Kansas program, the tradition and Bill getting his team ready to play in this gym. I mean, the way they shot the ball you’d thought we lost by 30. We lost by 13.”

Kansas extended its 15-point halftime lead to 20 in the second half. Houston cut the lead to 10 at 68-58 with about five minutes to play but could not get closer.

“We knew it was going to be a battle from the beginning,” Furphy said. “I think we did a really good job of setting the tone early. They’re definitely a really good side. They’re a really tough physical team.”

Dickinson said he’d never been part of an offensive output like Saturday.

“We showed a lot of execution on the offensive side,” he said. “When we’re able to hit shots, it’s pretty, pretty hard to defend. We had 43 points in the first half against the No. 1 ranked defense in the country. I don’t think (I’ve seen that) in my career.”

While it was a big win, especially in the conference race, Self was quick to point out that the conference season is only halfway done.

“I think it’s a little premature to talk about this as one of the biggest wins,” he said. “If this was playing for some kind of stakes, you could certainly make a bigger case. But it’s still just February 3.

“I don’t mean to minimize it. It was a great win. But we’ve had a lot of really good wins in this building.”

🏀 MBB: No. 8 Kansas scores the most points this season against No. 4 Houston

The No. 19-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team had three players score 20-plus points in a season-high offensive output on Saturday at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons shot 52.5 percent to extend their winning streak over the Pirates to 21 games as Hutchinson defeated Independence 111-82.

Hutchinson won its fourth game in a row and improved to 18-3 overall and 13-2 in the Jayhawk Conference. The Blue Dragons travel to Pratt on Wednesday. Independence lost its 21st-straight game and fell to 1-21 overall and 0-16 in the KJCCC.

<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/simon_valentino_8svq">Valentino Simon</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/bundy_kernan_hvu2">Kernan Bundy</a>&nbsp;scored 24 points each while&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/thomas_kamryn_j9zm">Kamryn Thomas</a>&nbsp;had 23 points to lead the Blue Dragons. That's the first time three Blue Dragons scored 20 or more points in one game since January 15, 2022 against Garden City when Kaimen Lennox had 24 points, Angelo Stuart had 21 points and Kobe Campbell had 20 points.

Simon posted his sixth double-double of the season with season highs of 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Bundy scored a season-high 24 points off the bench with a 3-pointer and 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. Bundy had four three-point plays against the Pirates.

Thomas hit 9 of 12 total shots and went 3 of 3 from 3-point range to finish with 23 points. Thomas added four assists.

<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/smith_kobe_csmn">Kobe Smith</a>&nbsp;also scored in double figures with 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting with two 3-pointers.

The Blue Dragons were 42 of 80 from the field, 9 of 22 from 3-point range and 18 of 19 from the free-throw line. Hutchinson had a season-high 28 assists.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2023-24/bios/branch_russell_x8m5">Russell Branch</a>&nbsp;had a career-high seven assists and J.P. Ricks finished with seven assists.

The Dragons out-rebounded the Pirates 47-36.

Cory Curtis Jr. led Independence with 23 points. Keah Paljor and Billy Williams had 18 and 16 points, respectively.

Independence shot 41.7 percent (30 of 72), hitting 11 of 33 from 3-point range and 11 of 15 from the free-throw line. The Pirated committed 24 turnovers.

The Pirates jumped out to a 14-8 lead with 16:14 to play in the opening half after a Paljor 3-pointer. The Dragons cut the deficit to 18-17 after Simon scored after an offensive rebound with 13:32 to play to cap an 8-3 run.

Independence used an 8-0 run to build a 26-18 lead after a Trey Stanbeck 3-pointer with 11:22 to play. The Blue Dragons responded with a 15-3 run. The Dragons grabbed a 33-29 lead with 7:11 to play after a Bundy transition layup.

The Blue Dragons surged from that point, building a 48-37 lead with 1:37 to play in the half after a Thomas fastbreak bucket. Thomas scored again with 6 seconds left to give the Blue Dragons a 53-41 halftime lead.

Leading 59-47, the Blue Dragons scored six unanswered points to lead 65-47 after a Thomas free throw with 14:17 to play in the game. The Pirates chipped away and but back within 65-52, but the Blue Dragons scored 10-unanswered points, eight scored by Smith, for a 75-52 lead with 10:56 to play.

Hutchinson had runs of 9-0 and 9-2 in the final 10 minutes to complete the victory

The Dragons shot 55.3 percent with three 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes.

The first-year St. John's coach says the NCAA enforcement staff is "a joke" and "should be disbanded" because it's "of no value anymore." The 71-year-old Pitino had his own history of run-ins with the NCAA when he coached at Louisville. He volunteered his current thoughts on the organization Saturday after St. John's lost to top-ranked UConn at Madison Square Garden.

Auburn star apologizes to Morgan Freeman after thinking actor was Ole Miss fan trying to rattle him

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Auburn's Johni Broome met one of his favorite movie stars and had to apologize to Morgan Freeman for how it happened. Kingsbury had agreed to join new coach Antonio Pierce's staff on Thursday but he couldn't reach a deal with the Raiders, so he told the team he's pursuing other options, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the discussions were to remain private. Now the Raiders have to decide where to go from here. Kingsbury spent this past season at USC as an offensive analyst.

The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team used a 14-0 run late in a 30-point second quarter that lifted the No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons to a Jayhawk Conference home victory over the Independence Pirates.

The Blue Dragons broke open a four-point lead after the first quarter with a 30-9 second quarter and Hutchinson went on to defeat Independence 82-60 on Saturday at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons improved to 21-0 overall and 15-0 in the Jayhawk Conference. Hutchinson travels to Pratt on Wednesday. Independence fell to 12-10 overall and 6-10 in league play.

The victory was the 15th consecutive win at the Sports Arena, which ties the 2015-16 Blue Dragons for the 10th-longest home-court winning streak in program history. The Dragons also extended their sixth-best start in team history and seventh-longest all-time win streak to 21 games.

Leading 22-18 after the first quarter, the Blue Dragons shot 55.0 percent in the second quarter to outscore the Pirates by 21 points and lead 52-27 at halftime. So far this season, the Blue Dragons are a plus-233 points in scoring margin in the second quarter alone.

The Pirates shot 31.3 percent for the game (20 of 64). Independence was 10 of 37 from 3-point range and 10 of 12 from the line. The Pirates turned the ball over 17 times.

The Blue Dragons never trailed in the game, but there were three ties in the opening quarter. The Dragons used an early 8-2 run to build a 17-9 lead after a Duffy fastbreak basket with 2:36 to play in the period. The Pirates answered with a 9-1 run and tied the game at 18-all after a Larsson 3-pointer with 57 seconds to play.&nbsp;<a href="https://hutchinson.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2023-24/bios/muggeridge_akaysha_rpaz">Akaysha Muggeridge</a>&nbsp;and Armstead scored on Hutchinson's final two possessions of the quarter for a 22-18 lead after 10 minutes.

Hutchinson travels to Pratt on Wednesday. Independence fell to 12-10 overall and 6-10 in league play.The victory was the 15th consecutive win at the Sports Arena, which ties the 2015-16 Blue Dragons for the 10th-longest home-court winning streak in program history. 🏀 WBB: Secound quarter explosion powers No. 2 Blue Dragons past Pirates

HUTCHINSON, Kan.-The Hutch High Salthawk basketball teams were able to celebrate homecoming in a happy way by sweeping Salina South on Friday night before Salthawk alumni and fans at a packed Salthawk Activity Center.

The Hutch High girls rallied back from being down four points going into the final quarter to explode for 17 fourth quarter points in route to a 45-39 win over the visiting Cougars from Salina.

The win avenged a six point loss in Salina 34-28, earlier in the season with both teams entertaining the fans with one of the best and most competitive games of the whole basketball season.

Hutch High took a one point lead at the end of the first quarter 15-14. The game was tied at 23 at half time and then it was rally time for the Hawks.

Junior Kaia Smith finally got untracked after being held scoreless in the first half. Smith scored 11 of her 14 points in the final quarter tieing the game with a right elbow trey 37-37, then hit the go-ahead trey from a little deeper on the the right arc toward the baseline to give the Salthawks the lead 40-37 with less than two minutes to play. Smith, Grace Posch and Lilly Rodriguez all added free throws in the last minute of play to seal the victory.

Posch carried the load in the first half by scoring 14 of her game high15 points with four treys to lead the Salthawks. Senior post Rachel Tomac had a monstor game with 11 points and 9 boards just barely missing a double-double. Tomac started in place of Kohlbie Craft who suffered a concussion versus Newton on Tuesday. Tomac made the most of it with consistant play against Salina South's talented sophomore in 6'3" Paitlyn Fritz. Azariah Dawes had 2 points and Rodriquez added 3 points to round out the Salthawk scoring.

For Salina South, three different players shared high point honors with eight points apiece. Fritz, Tamia Cheeks and Elle Barth scored those eight points. Bath had all her points in the first half, then was held scoreless in the 2nd half. Brooklyn Jordon added 6, Mercedes Tarver 5 and Aunisty McNeal 3 for the cougars scoring.

Hutch High (8-5) trave to Goddard Eisenhower next Tuesday before returning to the SAC for a make-up game on Thursday against Derby that was postponed from early in January.

It the boy's game, it wasn't until the third quarter that Hutch High was able to take control of the contest. The Salthawk had a 20-19 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then led 34-31 at intermissioin but took a 51-40 lead going into the final quarter and won by 11, 68-57.&nbsp;

The Salthawks had as much as a 16 point lead in the final quarter before Salina South trimed it back down to 11 at the final buzzer.

Terrell King tied Salina South's Quevon Purucker for game high honors with 16 points. Jax Heneha had a tremendous game with 12 points and Devon Spiller came off the bench to add 10. Taishaun Govain and Julian Smith added 9 apiece including a fantastic Smith save on the north baseline in transition for a perfect bounce pass to Govain for a key late game basket. Senior guard Tai Clark chipped in 7 along with Jay Lewis with 5.

Besides Purucker's 16, Salina South only had one other player in double figures which was Brady Howard with 11 including three three point baskets for the game.

Hutch High (11-3) travel to Goddard Eisenhower on Tuesday. Salina South falls to 2-12 on the season and will host Derby. Both teams have six remaining regular season games before sub-state pairings are announced.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks hired Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their new head coach. Macdonald, 36, spent the past two years running Baltimore's defense, including this past season when the Ravens finished with the NFL's best regular-season record and reached the AFC championship game before losing to Kansas City. This will be the first head coaching position at any level for Macdonald. He will be the youngest head coach in the NFL.

Early money heavily on Kansas City Chiefs to repeat as Super Bowl champions

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The early money is heavily on Kansas City to repeat as Super Bowl champion when the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on Feb. 11. That caused sportsbooks to drop the opening number that favored the Niners by 2 or 2 1/2 points to 1 or 1 1/2 points. FanDuel Sportsbook opened the Niners as 2 1/2-point favorites. That number was 1 1/2 on Tuesday night.

Super Bowl-bound Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to Taylor Swift: 'Thanks for joining the team'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce thanked his girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, for "joining the team" during his podcast with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce. Swift began dating the younger Kelce after he invited her to a Chiefs game early in the season, and she has been a frequent attendee every since. Whether she makes it to Las Vegas to watch the Chiefs play the 49ers in the Super Bowl remains to be seen. She resumes her Eras Tour next week with four shows in Tokyo, and the last of them ends on Saturday about 10 p.m. local time. That could give her enough time to make the trip for Sunday's game.

Kevin Durant scores 33 points in Brooklyn return, leads Suns to 136-120 victory over the Nets

NEW YORK (AP) — Kevin Durant scored 33 points in his return to Brooklyn, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 136-120 victory over the Nets on Wednesday night. Durant added eight assists in his first game in Brooklyn since being traded to Phoenix nearly a year ago. He got a mixed reception early in the game before helping take the crowd out of it with 11 points in the third quarter, when the Suns outscored the Nets 42-26 after leading by just three at halftime. Jusuf Nurkic added 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns, overwhelming an undersized Nets team as the Suns won for the ninth time in 11 games.

Caitlin Clark moves into No. 2 on NCAA scoring list as No. 3 Iowa pounds Northwestern 110-74

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Iowa star Caitlin Clark moved into second on the NCAA women's basketball career scoring list, finishing with 35 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in the No. 3 Hawkeyes' 110-74 victory over Northwestern. Cheered on by a sellout crowd at Welsh-Ryan Arena filled with Iowa colors and dotted with Clark shirts, the senior guard went 11 for 22 from the field. It was her 13th game this season with at least 30 points. The tour says its partnership with SSG allows for the Saudis to be co-investors.Tennessee, Virginia AGs suing NCAA over NIL-related recruiting rules with Vols under investigationThe attorneys general of Tennessee and Virginia filed an antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA that challenged its ban on the use of name, image and likeness compensation in the recruitment of college athletes. The legal challenge comes in response to the NCAA's investigation of University of Tennessee athletics for potential recruiting infractions. The lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Tennessee claims the NCAA is enforcing rules that unfairly restrict how athletes can commercially use their name, image and likeness. The NCAA already is facing other antitrust suits challenging transfer rules, employment status for athletes and athlete compensation rules.Cal Ripken Jr. and Grant Hill are part of the investment team that has agreed to buy the OriolesCal Ripken Jr. and Grant Hill are part of the investor group that has agreed to buy the Baltimore Orioles.
