The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team goes after its fourth-straight victory on Saturday as the No. 6-ranked Blue Dragons play host to the Independence Pirates.
The Saturday afternoon matinee between the Blue Dragons (20-1, 14-1 KJCCC) and the Pirates (2-18, 1-13 KJCCC) is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 1:45 p.m. with Sean Boston (play-by-play) and Dan Naccarato (analyst) calling the action. The game will be streamed live and for free on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 1:45 p.m.
Over its three-game winning streak, Hutchinson has been a much-more efficient offense. Over that span of games, the Blue Dragons are averaging 85.0 points per game, while shooting 48.0 percent overall and a white-hot 41.3 percent from 3-point range. Averaging almost 15 turnovers per game this season, the Dragons have had only 8.6 turnovers in the last three games.
Hutchinson continues to set the defensive pace in the KJCCC giving up a league-low 48.9 points per game. Over their three-game win streak, the Dragons are allowing 47.3 points with opponents shooting 33.0 percent and 20.0 turnovers per game.
The Blue Dragons hit 10 3-pointers and shot 53.6 percent overall in an 84-57 road victory on Wednesday at Colby.&nbsp;<a href="https://hutchinson.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2024-25/bios/jackson_hailey_q6t6">Hailey Jackson</a>&nbsp;had her ninth double-double of the season with 24 points and 11 rebounds.&nbsp;<a href="https://hutchinson.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2024-25/bios/pleasant_jada_y7vs">Jada Pleasant</a>&nbsp;sank a career-best five 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 15 points to lead the Blue Dragons over the Trojans.
Independence dropped an 85-43 decision to Coffeyville at home on Wednesday night at the ICC Fieldhouse. Allison Reese had 11 points to lead the Pirates, who shot only 24.5 percent and turned the ball over 24 times.
Back on November 30, the Blue Dragons dominated the Pirates in a 66-34 victory at the ICC Fieldhouse, the sixth-straight Hutchinson victory in the series. Jackson had 12 points and&nbsp;<a href="https://hutchinson.prestosports.com/sports/wbkb/2024-25/bios/duncan_katie_ofa1">Katie Duncan</a>&nbsp;had 11 points to pace Hutchinson. Asmin Tanhan had 15 points to lead the Pirates.</div>
