After a brief illness, Ruth Margaret Smith passed away in the early hours of Good Friday, April 10, 2020. A silent soldier for her Savior, it seems appropriate Ruth earned her Heavenly reward on a day we commemorate the Passion and death of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ruth’s time on Earth was good and wholesome. It included the highlight of raising three adoring children to be strong and independent. She herself was the youngest of four children born to John and Sophie Goranson in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Ruth was a committed member of the Lutheran community. She sang in church choirs, and it was in that music that she met her husband, Jim. Now, when the darkness fell on her final days, the Lord lovingly took her very breath that sang His praise.

Ruth leaves behind son, Brian Smith (Kim, and daughters, Heather Walton (Scott) and Brenda Webb (Bob, along with five grandchildren; Ian Smith, Kylyn Stark, Maci Walton, Tawne Walton and Abbie Walton and three great-grandchildren; Boston Smith, Jagger Smith and Jemma Stark.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Elizabeth Decker, Ann Armstrong, Art Goranson &amp; Helen Martin.

Ruth lived most of her adult life in Topeka, Kansas working as an office clerk for the USDA-Risk Management. The last two years she resided in Moundridge, Kansas within the Pine Village Retirement Community.

She will be interred aside the Immanuel Lutheran Church (Canton, Ks). There will be a small private funeral service at this time as dictated by the current COVID-19 restrictions, but a ceremony to celebrate Ruth’s life will be scheduled at a date to be determined. David Stanley Wagler, 77, died April 8, 2020, at his home.&nbsp; He was born January 25, 1943, in Hutchinson, to Willie and Alma (Nisly) Wagler.

David was a 1969 graduate of Bethel College, Newton, and attended graduate school at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL.&nbsp; He was an administrator for the Slavic Gospel Association from 1973 to 1992.&nbsp; David also taught high school mathematics, science, and English, and was a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley and Wagler Investment Solutions.&nbsp;

He was a member and elder of the Berean Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

On January 1, 1975, he married Patricia ‘Trish’ Anne Hershberger in Canton, OH.&nbsp; They shared over 45 years of marriage.

David is survived by:&nbsp; his wife, Trish Wagler of Yoder; children, Rochelle Sylvester of Hutchinson, Vanya (Maeleena) Wagler of Wichita Falls, TX, Bethany (Paul) Page of Hutchinson, Maria Wagler of Champaign, IL, Esther (Nick) Egli of Yoder, Sarah (Jordan) Julian of Greeley, CO, and Josiah (Kylee) Wagler of Sterling; 14 grandchildren; and sisters, Evelyn Sauer, Dolores Wagler, and Gloria Miller.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and son, Corporal Peter Daniel Wagler.

Private graveside service will be Friday, April 10, 2020, at the Partridge Cemetery, with Pastor Roger Neir officiating.&nbsp; A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.

Bonita C. Fee, 87, died April 6, 2020, at Hester Care Center. &nbsp;‘Bonnie’ was born October 21, 1932, in Lee’s Summit, MO, to Clarence ‘Bill’ and Mildred (Copeland) Roots.&nbsp;

Bonnie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1950, Hutchinson Community College in 1952, and attended the University of Kansas. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother; on the PTA at Roosevelt Grade School, and, as a YouthFriends mentor at Avenue A Grade School. Bonnie also volunteered by being on the board committees of: Girl Scouts Wheatbelt Council; Reno County Red Cross; Wesley Towers, Inc. (both serving 2 terms).&nbsp; She was a member of PEO Chapter CM, serving as president for six years. In addition, Bonnie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible School Leader and Director. Bonnie Fee practiced daily actions of encouragement, compassion, and empathy towards others, and her purposeful efforts to ease the burdens carried by the people around her, was an inspiration.

On August 29, 1953, Bonita Clara Roots married Franklin Taylor Fee at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared 66 years of marriage before his death on December 5, 2019.

Bonnie is survived by: son, Thomas Fee; grandsons, Andrew Fee and Taylor Fee; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Axton Fee; brother, Roger Roots and wife Mary; sister-in-law, Martha Fee; nephews, Sam and Matt Roots, Jim, Allen, Bob, and Dan Fee; nieces, Katie Roots and Stacy Shaw; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Carolyn Fee; and brother-in-law, Jim Fee.

Susan graduated from Central High School in 1980. She enjoyed journaling and painting.

On May 7, 2004, Susan married Charles R. Grindley, in Hutchinson. They shared 15 years together.

She is survived by: husband, Charles Grindley, daughter, Jennifer Rue (Jared, and four grandchildren, all of Hutchinson; father, Bob Leslie, brothers Rob, Chris, and Mike Leslie, all of Missouri; mother-in-law, Judy Waters, and sister-in-law, Paula Plum, both of Clearwater.

Roxanne Johnson, 73, loving wife, mother, grandma, and sister, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at Wheatlands Health Care Center, Kingman. She was born on February 21, 1947, in Ottawa, to Dr. W. Harry and Helen (Groves) Lennard.

She was a 1965 graduate of Ottawa High School and received a journalism degree from the University of Kansas in 1969. Roxanne worked in advertising for seven years in California, moving back to Kansas in 1976.

On April 19, 1980, Roxanne married Ron Johnson in Plevna. Together they raised son Ryan on the family farm at Abbyville. She worked in education for Fairfield USD 310. She volunteered for many organizations, including 4-H, Pioneer club, Joy Bible club, and Gideons International.Roxanne lived her faith with a passion for serving others, especially in her church, school, and community. Her kind words, infectious laugh, and compassionate spirit inspired kids and adults, alike.

Ron, her husband of 40 years survives. Also surviving are son, Ryan and wife Tia; grandchildren, Mac, Calla, and Carmen, all of Omaha, NE; brother, Rod Lennard and wife Sandra of Bella Vista, AR, and several nieces and nephews.

Marvin D. “Spank” Lang, 86, Hays, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his home.

He was born August 25, 1933 in Hoisington, the son of Robert and Anna (Reif) Lang. On December 27, 1958 he was united in marriage to Sue Tholen in Vincent, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. He was a graduate of Hoisington High School, served in the United States Army, and was an oilfield roustabout and pumper. His memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church and Commander of Hays American Legion Post #173. He coached his sons’ baseball teams, represented the American Legion at state baseball games, loved sports, and was a great dad and grandpa who loved his family.

Survivors include his wife; Sue of the home, four daughters; Marva Willhoft and husband Joel, and Joyce Mattison and husband Andy, all of Hays, Sharon Szurpicki and husband Paul and Jodie Kerr and husband Rusty, all of Wichita, two sons; Gary Lang and wife Cristina and Larry Lang and wife Lori, all of Charlotte, NC, eighteen grandchildren; Brent Mattison and wife Coley, Brad Mattison and wife Megan, Brady Mattison and wife Paula, Lindsay Mattison, Tanner Willhoft, Molly Paul and husband Gage, Jared Willhoft, Ben Szurpicki, Kate Szurpicki, Kyle Szurpicki, Alyssa Kerr, Brandon Kerr, Jack Kerr, Katherine Lang, Anna Lang, Kalie Schmitt and husband Tyler, Brett Lang, and Addison Lang, and three great grandchildren; Dylan, Adley, and Coraline.

Marvin D. “Spank” Lang | 1933 - 2020 |

Krista Leigh Baehler, of Omaha, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord and Savior April 4, 2020, at 12:42 a.m. Krista was 32 years old, born July 4, 1987, in Newton, Kansas. She passed after complications due to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Krista graduated from Central Christian High School in 2007 and received her Associate of Arts Degree from Hutchinson Community College in 2009. In 2011, Krista graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. It was with great pride she earned her Registered Dietitian License, after completing the 1,200 internship hours and passing the exam.

Krista served Omaha as the Community Cooking and Nutrition Education Specialist for a coalition of nonprofits, private corporations and public colleges titled “Soil to Sustenance”. She built cooking and nutrition curriculum, and outcome measurements and recipes for people experiencing poverty and worked to bring a major grant award to sustain the program for many years. After being hospitalized, Krista continued to develop measurement criteria and reached out to community nutrition programs in Texas and California to build a model for Omaha to serve those in need.

Krista was a humble and loving role model for countless children.&nbsp; She loved not only in words but also by many acts of kindness and service.&nbsp; Throughout her life Krista combined her love of horses with her love of Jesus in ministry to others. As an adult, Krista taught at horsemanship camps at her mother’s Cedar Ridge Ranch.&nbsp; She loved teaching the excited children how to ride and care for horses.

Krista had an extraordinary love of horses, especially her barrel horse, Newt, that she shared with her sister, Kendra.&nbsp; Krista had a bond with Newt, which enabled each to help the other heal from many serious health issues. Her father’s loving care of Newt helped Krista and Kendra have success in the arena.

Krista’s accomplishments included competing at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette, Wyoming, as one of the top four-barrel racers in Kansas.&nbsp; She loved to compete and won many buckles and other awards.

Survivors include: mother, Karen Baehler, Ph.D. and her fiancé Max Carroll, both of Hutchinson; father, Gary Baehler, DVM with wife Julie, Moundridge; sister, Kendra Hopp with husband Brian and nephew Baylor, McPherson; grandmother, Faye Frankamp, Newton; sister of the heart, Angela Estes, Lebanon, Oregon; boyfriend, Chris Peterson, Omaha, Nebraska; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends who were loved as family and mentors included: Janet Olbricht, Newton, James and Juna Keever, Hutchinson, Pam Turner, St. John, Kathy Mendenhall, Phillip Torgrimson, Hutchinson, and Craig Howell, Omaha.

Those who preceded her in death include: grandparents, Everett and Helen Baehler, Dale Frankamp, and Jim Keever, Sr.

A private service will be held at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, and a private interment will be at Smoky Hill Cemetery, Lindsborg. &nbsp;A guest book visitation with personal memorabilia and pictures will be at Elliott Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 9 and 10, 2020.

Bruce Austin Moots, 86, of Hutchinson, KS., passed away on April 3, 2020 at his home with his wife Barbara and his beloved dog Herbie by his side. He was born April 28, 1933, in Hutchinson, KS., the son of Clifford D and Alma E. (Hedger) Moots.

Bruce attended Hutchinson High School. On June 10, 1993 he married Barbara Shanks in Hutchinson, KS. On April 24, 1953 Bruce joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1955. Bruce was an avid pool player, a master carpenter and a stain glass artist.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gene Moots and William “Bill” Moots and a sister Donna Moots.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Mike Moots and Mark Moots; daughters, Becky Ensz and Leslie Moots; step-daughters, Lisa Hagley and Tammie Kaufman; many grandchildren, his beloved dog Herbie and four pool player buddies Don, Bob, Wade and Max.

Richard Dean Brown, 76, of Hutchinson, passed away on April 3, 2020 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born December 4, 1943, in Hutchinson, the son of Homer F. and Edith M. (Corbet) Brown.

Richard attended Pratt High School. On July 3, 1984 he married Lynn Smith in Pratt, KS. Richard was a man of many trades. He was best known for working as an engineer for the railroad. He also enjoyed metal work and pin striping street rods.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; daughters, Kimberly Monnier and step-children, Lori (Cory) Hughes and Krista Wilson; a brother, Robert F. Brown, a grandson Brent Shultz, step –grandchildren, Samantha Hughes, Timothy Hughes, Madalynn Wilson and Taye Wilson and nephews, Scott Brown and Todd Brown.

Diane was a 1979 graduate of Ensign High School.&nbsp; She was employed at Central Kansas Credit Union, Hutchinson, as a Vice-President of Real Estate, for almost 30 years.&nbsp; During this time, Diane attended training seminars in Texas to further her education.&nbsp; Diane’s customers were important to her and she strived to give them the best service possible.

She is survived by:&nbsp; her father, Jerry and wife Pat Burkhart of Port Orange, Fl; mother, Ruth Burkhart of Gothenburg, NE; sister, Theresa and husband Clint Demoret of Gothenburg, NE; friends, Tracey Ary of Hutchinson, and Dave Zach of Munden; beloved dog, Cotton; nieces, Jaimie, Rebecca, Amanda, Kaitlin, Kelly, and Alyssa; nephews, Aaron, Jared, and Kyle; and extended family and friends.

Linda Rae Housh, 72, met her Lord and Savior, April 1, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 16, 1947, in Wichita, to Kenneth and June (Nighswonger) Sparr.

Linda graduated from Clearwater High School in 1965 and Wichita Business College in 1966.&nbsp; During high school, she was president of the Pep Club and involved in numerous musical organizations, including band, Glee Club, and Mixed Chorus.&nbsp; Linda was also past-president of Gamma Eta Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority.&nbsp; She retired from Morton Salt as a payroll clerk and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.&nbsp; Linda was a devoted grandma, and adored all her grandchildren.&nbsp; When she became ill, they gave her the inspiration to continue living.&nbsp;

Linda met the love of her life, Lyle, when they both worked at Morton Salt.&nbsp; They were married October 14, 1994, and enjoyed 25 years of marriage.&nbsp; Lyle was Linda’s soul mate, rock, caregiver, and calming salvation.&nbsp;

Linda is survived by: her&nbsp; husband and best friend, &nbsp;Lyle Housh; children, Curtis Mitchell (Pam, Lynette Wilkening (John, all of Hutchinson, Shannon Housh of Auburn, GA, and Tammy Dreiling (Chris) of Commerce City, CO; grandchildren, Gregory Gonzales (Sami, Madison Mitchell, Kalei Dreiling, Tiana Smith, Tenley Wilkening, Tessa Wilkening, and Adryan Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Renae, and Ella Rae Gonzales; her mother, June Sparr; sister, Connie Craig (Larry, all of Clearwater; and Curtis and Lynette’s father, Bob Mitchell.

Rickey Duane Retterer, 74, of Hutchinson, died April 5, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1945, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to Woodrow and Elizabeth (Scullin) Retterer.

Rickey graduated from Ridgemont High School, Ridgeway, Ohio, in 1965. He retired from Hutchinson Vending, in 2002. Rickey served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1972. He was a life member of VFW Post 1080, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Rickey was a member of Park Place Christian Church, in Hutchinson.

On July 10, 1981, he married Renee Redinger, in Corpus Christi, Texas. They shared nearly 39 years of marriage.

Rickey is survived by: wife, Renee Retterer, Hutchinson; siblings, Ronnie Retterer, Kenton, OH, Shirley Jones, Corpus Christi, TX, Sharon Appleman, Newark, OH, Toni Pfister (Jerry, Kenton, OH, and Peg Herron, Kenton, OH; sister-in-law, LoaAnn Gibson, Hutchinson; several nieces and nephews; and his loving cats, Oliver, Bernie, and Jackee.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gary and Terry Retterer; and sister, Sandie Middleton.

Cecil Stinbrink, 65, of Hutchinson, died April 5, 2020, at his home.&nbsp; He was born October 31, 1954, in Hutchinson, to Cecil Howard and Frances (Cain) Stinbrink, Sr.

Cecil was a 1972 graduate of Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975.&nbsp; Cecil then received a degree from Wichita State University as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.&nbsp; He was employed as a respiratory therapist at Great Bend Regional Hospital and Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

On May 16, 1978, Cecil married Betty House, in Miami, OK.&nbsp; They shared over 41 years of marriage.

He is survived by:&nbsp; his wife, Betty Stinbrink of Hutchinson; son, Nicholas (Julie) Stinbrink of Buford, GA; granddaughters, Ashley and Emma Stinbrink; and siblings, Joyce (David) Wood of Arlington, TX, Larry (Corliss) Stinbrink of Loudon, TN, Carol Capps of Newton, and Patty (Randy) Graham of Colwich.

Cecil was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; brothers, William and Michael Stinbrink; sister, Agnes Stinbrink; and brother-in-law, Gene Capps.

In 1964, she married Jimmie Lee Meyer in Miami, OK.&nbsp; He died August 24, 2019.&nbsp;

Emma Mae Yoder, 88, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2020.&nbsp; She was born on December 16, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Harry and Barbara (Helmuth) Yoder.

On September 28, 1958, Emma married Eli J. Yoder, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 61 years of marriage.

She faithfully served the Lord and her family with her servant heart.&nbsp; Emma also spent many hours piecing quilts and quilting.

She is survived by: her husband, Eli J. Yoder of Hutchinson; children, Richard (Susan) Yoder of Hutchinson, Joyce (Jake) King of Arlington, and Emily (Freeman) Miller of Arrington, VA; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; siblings, Katie I. Hetzler, Melvin H. (Orpha) Yoder, and Harry E. (Treva) Yoder, all of Hutchinson; and sisters-in-law, Fannie (Miller) Yoder of Harrisonburg, VA, and Katie (Miller) Yoder of Hutchinson.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Albert and Lloyd Yoder.

Thomas Eugene Huffman, 71, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;The son of Robert and Elizabeth (Kohl) Huffman, he was born July 1, 1948, in Scott City, almost exactly a year after his brother, James.

Thomas spent his young childhood in Grigston, Kansas, before the family moved to Nickerson, in 1958.

He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1966 and Hutchinson Community College in 1968.&nbsp; Thomas then went to work as a draftsman at Carey Salt Company, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;&nbsp;In 1973, he began working at Cessna, and was employed in 1988 at Boeing, in Wichita. Thomas worked on Air Force One and was excited to be a passenger onboard a test flight that flew roundtrip from Wichita to Seattle. He retired in 2001.

Thomas volunteered with the Boy Scouts and Big Brothers, taking the youngsters on canoeing trips and camping excursions, teaching them how to set up tents, gather wood, and cook on a campfire and portable cook top. The family benefited from his practice, and enjoyed many meals with cherry cobbler.

In 1974, Thomas bought a Jeep, and in October of 1978, became a member of the Salt City 4-Wheelers. &nbsp;He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and photography. For several years, Thomas took trips to Waynoka, Oklahoma, to go 4-wheeling, 3-wheeling, and motorcycle riding in Little Sahara State Park, with younger brother, Joe, in tow. &nbsp;An avid mechanic, he always had a car or pickup that was in a state of some level of rebuild or repair.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank, who passed away last year.

He never married. Thomas is survived by: brothers, James (Kathy) Huffman, Joe (Leslie) Huffman, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Mary Blachford of Alden, Jean (Mike) Ober of Cottonwood, AZ, Delores Huffman of Skiatook, OK, Vera (John) Frye of Lyons, and Barb (Lou) Winterfield of Fountain Hills, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Milton was a 1947 graduate of Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He served in the Kansas National Guard and retired with 22 years of service.&nbsp; Milton worked for Oscar Young Construction, Young Sales and Erection, and retired as the Director of Buildings and Grounds for USD #308-Hutchinson Public Schools in 1991.&nbsp; He was a member of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. &amp; A.M, and the Hutchinson Water Sports Club for over 40 years.&nbsp; Milton was a member of Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson.

On July 29, 1950, he married Mardell J. Delaney at the First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 69 years of marriage.

Milton is survived by:&nbsp; his wife, Mardell J. Evans of Hutchinson; daughter, Judy Frank of Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Susan Evans of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Nicholas (Anna) Evans, Benjamin (Paige) Evans, Amanda McLeish, Belinda (Monte) Bridgewater, Emily (Jesse) Caplinger, and Kyle (Katie) Frank; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Evans, Willow Johnson, Bentley Evans, Berklee Evans, Boston Evans, Kale Caplinger, Evan Caplinger, Dylan Caplinger, William Frank, Maverick Bridgewater, and Bearett Bridgewater.

Linda L. (Hunsinger) Fesler, 74, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully April 2, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 26, 1945, in Lindsborg, to George and Alta Marie (Smith) Hunsinger.

She was a 1963 graduate of Little River High School and attended Adela Hale Business College. She was a service representative for AT&amp;T for 30 years, retiring in 2002. Linda continued working part-time at Conklin Cars, Hutchinson. She had a love of gardening and was a Master Gardener. Other hobbies included bird watching, reading, collecting and new trying recipes, and shopping.

Linda regularly volunteered in the community with various organizations and regularly donated blood for the American Red Cross. Linda was a member of Union Valley Bible Church and Beta Sigma Phi.

Linda loved to tell jokes and will be missed by friends and family.

Surviving are: daughter and granddaughter, Wendy Regehr (James, Meredith, all of Eudora, daughter, Heather Howell of Overland Park; sisters, Georgene Glenn of Tonganoxie, and Sharon Glenn of Pahrump, NV; Dennis Howell, father of Wendy and Heather; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Melvin Fesler; siblings, Clair, Meredith Voth, Laurel, Joann Peckham, Kay Piper, Dallis and Karyl.

Charles graduated from Haven High School, Kansas State University with his bachelor’s degree, and Wichita State with his master’s. He worked at PMS Foods Inc., until he retired in 1997, and part-time at Legacy Foods, until 2007. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and belonged to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68. He was also a member of Friends of the Public Library. Charles was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

On June 4, 1954, he married Imogene Janssen, in Holyrood, KS. They shared 65 years together.

Charles is survived by: wife, Imogene Kinast, Hutchinson; daughters, Vicki (Timothy) Shook, Wichita, Pam (Randy) Johnston, and Laurie (Tim) Givan, both of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Kinast, Pretty Prairie; and sister, Marilyn Hurst, Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Virginia Woertz.

Marlane Iris Woodard Rages, 93, died April 2, 2020, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born May 24, 1926, near Elmont, Kansas, to Terrol Herbert and Pansy (Chilson) Woodard.

Marlane graduated from Seaman High School and Washburn University, Topeka.&nbsp; She taught elementary grade school at Elmont and Topeka, later teaching Language Arts at Geneseo.&nbsp; After retiring, Marlane assisted her husband in the operation of Rages Crops Insurance, located in Lyons.&nbsp; She was a member of Geneseo United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

On July 4, 1948, she married Lloyd W. Rages, in Topeka.&nbsp; He died September 12, 2010, after sharing 62 years of marriage.

Marlane is survived by:&nbsp; son, Dan Rages (Janice) of Hutchinson; daughter, Becky Berry (Paul) of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp;

Marlane Iris Woodard Rages, 93, died April 2, 2020, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born May 24, 1926, near Elmont, Kansas, to Terrol Herbert and Pansy (Chilson) Woodard.Marlane graduated from Seaman High School and Washburn University, Topeka.&nbsp; She taught elementary grade school at Elmont and Topeka, later teaching Language Arts at Geneseo.&nbsp; After retiring, Marlane assisted her husband in the operation of Rages Crops Insurance, located in Lyons.&nbsp; She was a member of Geneseo United Methodist Church.&nbsp;On July 4, 1948, she married Lloyd W. Rages, in Topeka.&nbsp; He died September 12, 2010, after sharing 62 years of marriage.Marlane is survived by:&nbsp; son, Dan Rages (Janice) of Hutchinson; daughter, Becky Berry (Paul) of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp;Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.&nbsp; Friends may sign her book from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Bruce Keith Yaeger, 59, passed away April 2, 2020, at Hospice House.&nbsp; He was born January 31, 1961, in Dodge City, the son of Larry and Mary Jane (Britain) Yaeger.

After graduating from Dodge City High School, Bruce moved to Denver, CO, and built a successful concrete business.&nbsp; He also operated a successful business when family moved to Montrose, CO.&nbsp; Bruce then moved back to Denver and worked for the Department of Homeland Security (TSA, moving up the ranks as a very successful high-level manager.

Bruce was a great father and grandfather and role model for his children and grandchildren. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: son, Mike (Erika, Hutchinson; daughter, Mandi Walker, Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Cloey, Derek, and Mila Yaeger, Spencer Walker; brother, Brad (Janice, Wichita; nephews, Justin and Matt Yaeger; niece, Beth Masterson; four great-nephews, and a great-niece.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

Lioba J. Schmidt, 90, of Hutchinson, passed away April 6, 2020, at her daughter's home, in Edmond, OK, surrounded by her family. She was born December 15, 1929, in Emmeram, KS, to Adam and Anna (Scheck) Windholz.

A Hutchinson resident since 1960, she was a retired employee of USD 308-Hutchinson Public Schools, where she worked as a cook and custodian at Lincoln Elementary and Sherman Junior High School.&nbsp; Lioba was a long-time member of the Roman Catholic Church.

On January 14, 1947, she married Alvin Joseph Schmidt, in Pfeifer, KS. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1993.

Lioba was also preceded in death by: her only son, Cary Paul on March 6, 2014; her three brothers, Charles, Delmas, and Ernest Windholz; and seven sisters, Sister Margaret Louise, Lucy Hertel, Leona Tallman, Teckla Gross, Regina Mai, Edna Tope, and Georgie Leiker.

Survivors include: her three daughters and spouses, Margaret (Tony) Spellman of Hutchinson, Alice (Brian) Boyd of Hutchinson, and Dr. Carrie (Gregory) Konen of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Dane (Emily) Schmidt of Overland Park, Brooke Northern of Overland Park, Dominic (Karen) Spellman of Overland Park, Dr. Anna Boyd of Shawnee, Konrad Schmidt of Overland Park, Adam Konen of Edmond, OK, and Konnaly and Keely Schmidt, both of Hutchinson; and great-grandchildren, Stella Northern, Tobias, Evelyn, and Gabriel Spellman, and Reece Schmidt.

Private family graveside service will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Laurene Reimer of Buhler, age 94, passed away April 1, 2020 at Pleasant View Home in Inman.

She was born April 24, 1925, the fifth of six children to CJ and Mary Schmidt. Her younger years were spent growing up on the family farm near Buhler. After graduating from Buhler High School, Laurene worked at Buhler Mills.

Reimer of Buhler. Laurene spent her years being a dedicated homemaker and was devoted to life on the farm. She and Joel were partners on the farm for 49 years and created lifelong memories for family, extended family and friends. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1999. Laurene remained on the farm for 15 more years. She was a bright and caring person to family and friends. Her delicious cooking and baking will always be remembered and missed. Many great times were spent attending activities for children and grandchildren. K-State also held a special place, traveling to many bowl games with family.Laurene was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church where for years she helped organize the annual noodle soup supper. She also found the time to work at the Sunshine Home in Buhler for 19 years and later volunteered at the Hutchinson Etc. Shop.In addition to her husband, Laurene was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Robinson, her parents, three brothers Wilbur Schmidt, Edwin J. Schmidt, Marvin Schmidt and one sister Elva Kentfield.Laurene is survived by her children; Suzanne (Monty) Wedel, Manhattan, Mike (Elize) Reimer, Tucson, Arizona, Barb Reimer, Tempe, Arizona, Sandy (Dick) Hayden, Wichita, Jeff (Maribeth) Reimer, Hutchinson, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother Harlo (Glennis) Schmidt, Buhler and many nieces and nephews.Due to state mandates and the serious nature of COVID-19, the family will have a private service.
