Kansas State University’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is helping career changers across the country take their next step into the classroom with a flexible, fully online graduate degree that leads to dual teacher certification.

The MAT program prepares graduates for K–6 licensure in both elementary general education and special education—earning an Elementary Education Unified (K-6) license in just 34–36 credit hours. Students benefit from K-State’s nationally ranked education program, recently recognized by U.S. News &amp; World Report as one of the top 20 online education master’s degrees in the nation.

Designed for those seeking a second career in education, the MAT offers an affordable and convenient path toward teaching. All students pay in-state tuition, regardless of residency, and more than 70% receive financial assistance through scholarships like the K-State Online Scholarship.

Students can complete the program in as little as 16 months or work at their own pace while taking courses online. The MAT also provides two distinct tracks:

Practitioner Track: For students already teaching full-time under a Limited Elementary Residency Program (LERP) License.

License-Seeking Track: For students preparing to enter the classroom for the first time.&nbsp;

Each student is paired with a GradCat — a master teacher who provides mentorship, coaching, and evaluation throughout the program.

Preparing Educators for Today’s Classrooms

The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practices including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), intensive intervention and data-based individualization (DBI), and social-emotional learning. Students gain hands-on experience through student teaching placements in their local communities.

Graduates are eligible to apply for a Kansas K–6 Initial Teaching License, which can be transferred to other states following each state’s additional requirements.

Today's "Throwback Thursday Collection" takes us to the 500 block of South Main on the east side.

As Hutchinson was growing tremendously, its fire-protection needs grew also. As most of Hutchinson existed south of Sherman Street at the time, there was a need to expand coverage there.

In about 1910, Fire Station No. 3 was constructed at 516 S. Main St. The first photo is of that station and its firemen showing off its new "Hose Truck" in 1911.

The second photo is of Hose Company No. 3 on truck at work with the crew in 1912.

The two-story station was in continuous use until closing in 1975 and moving to a new site at 100 E. Ave. E.

After closing, the building was used by the Public Works Department, mostly for storage. The city tried to sell the building around 1992 without much success.

Around 2002, it was finally sold to private parties and has been used as the Sons Of Silence motorcycle clubhouse. The third photo shows the clubhouse when the building was owned by Gene Hall in 2017.

The fourth photo shows the building at 516 S. Main St. today, now owned by Scott Marshall, who also owns the Salty Cycles business at 129 E. Sherman.

Three-day outlook

The Trinity High School Theatre Department is inviting audiences to experience the hilarity of Hollywood gone haywire with its fall production of “The Great All American Musical Disaster.”

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, November 6, and Saturday, November 8, at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee on November 9 at 3 p.m. All shows will be held in the Trinity High School auditorium.

Written as a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy, the play follows down-on-his-luck film producer Junior Dover (Jr.), whose last movie — “Zombies of the Stratosphere” — was a box office flop. Determined to make a comeback, Junior sets out to create his next big hit, a film that has “everything from earthquakes to savage lobsters.”

To lure Hollywood’s biggest stars to his project, Junior writes separate versions of the script tailored to each actor’s ego — leading every performer to believe they’re the true star of the movie. What follows is a chaotic whirlwind of confusion, clashing personalities, and comic disaster as the production spirals hilariously out of control.

“The Great All American Musical Disaster” celebrates the glitz, glamour, and absurdity of Hollywood filmmaking, promising plenty of laughs for audiences of all ages.

Trinity High School to present 'The Great All American Musical Disaster'

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Newton City Commission approved a lease agreement with Shield AI, an aeronautics technology manufacturer specializing in artificial intelligence drones, for a site at Newton City/County Airport.

The lease agreement includes 16,000 square feet of hangar and office space in Hangar J, as well as three acres of undeveloped land on the east side of the airport. The lease has an initial 5-year term at $90,000 per year, and two additional 5-year term options with an annual 1.5% increase on the hangar rate.

Shield AI, founded in 2015, develops autonomy software and aircraft that use artificial intelligence to protect service members and civilians in high-risk environments. The company’s latest innovation, the X-BAT, is the world’s first AI-piloted, vertical takeoff and landing fighter jet.

Jacob Miller with Shield AI said the company had been searching for a location as it develops the next iteration of its combat aircraft technology.

“We look to Newton airport to be the spot to help unlock and continue to keep the U.S. at the forefront of artificial intelligence and specifically artificial intelligence on aircraft,” Miller said.

The company’s initial plans are to use the Newton facility for testing during the manufacturing process.

The City and County, as joint owners of the airport, agreed to install a gravel service road from First Street to the ground lease acreage, and to update the office area and restrooms to code. City staff estimate the remodeling work will cost about $15,000 and are still working with Shield AI to determine the specifications and estimated cost of the road extension.

The City and County will also pay about $18,000 in fees to Shield AI’s real estate broker.

The project has the potential to create 30 to 60 full-time jobs and nearly $1 million in infrastructure improvements over the next few years with the addition of a manufacturing facility. Miller said the jobs will include software designers, engineers, and pilots with jet experience.

AI drone manufacturer coming to Newton airport

The Reno County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is continuing normal operations, according to WIC Coordinator Heather Peterson, who oversees services for both Reno and McPherson counties.

Peterson said families should keep their scheduled WIC appointments, continue using their benefits, and rely on the WIC Shopper App for the most current and accurate information regarding WIC services in Kansas.

“There was some panic when SNAP sent out their letter and indicated WIC was included,” Peterson said. “But WIC services are continuing as usual.”

WIC provides nutrition education, healthy foods, and breastfeeding support to eligible women, infants, and young children. Peterson encouraged participants who have questions to contact the WIC office directly for assistance.

Ed. Note: Below is the transcript of the interview with Councilman Greg Fast. Fast is running for re-election to the Southwest District of the Hutchinson City Council.&nbsp;

Marc Jacobs: This morning we are visiting with council member Greg Fast. He is running for re-election in this Southwestern district. Good morning, sir.&nbsp;

Greg Fast: Good morning, Marc, thanks for having me this morning and and allowing me to speak.

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;So thank you for taking time out of your busy day to come in and visit with us. Tell me a little bit about Greg Fast, those people who might be new to your district or might be new to town, and they're,&nbsp;going to, they're going to the polls that they may not know who you are.&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, I'm a local business owner and a lifetime residence, except for a couple years, a lifetime resident of Hutchinson, married to my wife, Carly. Her main name was Madeline, so many people will know that name, but we have we're a blended family. We have six children and we have two dogs. The dogs are more of a problem than the children are. But anyway, very, very happy to represent the Southwest District of Hutchinson for the last four years, it's I'm constantly learning. I realized right after I was seated four years ago, how little I actually knew about city government. But I think, I think now the experience is so valuable in the relationships that I've fostered, but a little bit about myself. I own a lawn service. I own property, commercial property, and then and then I own, also own some storage buildings that are storage rentals, that you would store your overflow or your stuff and but the main driver for me has been a lawn care company that I've had for 30 years and started from one yard. And so I have that business mind, I suppose, and sometimes it gets me in trouble when we try to run a city like a business. So anyway, that's a little bit about me. &nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;Starting off, how should Hutch look at attracting How should Hutch balance attracting new industries like renewable energy or advanced manufacturing while also trying to support small, locally owned businesses and downtown revitalization?&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, I appreciate that question, Marc. I think that they all work in unison, and I think we as a city are in need of significant job growth and higher paying jobs. I feel like economic development is my strong point. I know that the small businesses will thrive if we have people here working and churning those dollars back in our city. I think anybody that knows me knows that I do live downtown. I develop two properties downtown, and I live upstairs in one of those. So downtown is very important to me, and I'm very proud of the fact that that you know, on the economic side, have been able to be a big part in luring ever G here for their their project. I might mention that's the single largest project that Hutchinson has ever landed, and we're going to start turning dirt soon on that. &nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;So all right, this one kind of goes hand in hand with the previous question. But what specific steps could the city take, or would you take to address Hutchinson's housing shortest, particularly affordable and workforce housing. How would, how should the city partner with nonprofits and developers to attain that?&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, I think that if anybody watches the council meeting, you could, you could watch last, last week's meeting, and know that we are, we've done a private public partnership, where the city bought some land, specifically 11 acres and we're partnering with a company out of Manhattan to develop 30 homes on that land. And we put out a an RFP for that work, a request for proposals. We we got one from them that that request was good for our local developers. Anybody that wanted to participate could give us a proposal. And I think that is one of the things that we're doing as a city to try to solve our housing issues. I think the the Community Foundation is trying to help by putting some money in, in to that, that housing initiative, to try to help people get into those homes, but, but I think that that this is where the experience comes into play. And you know, the track record of what we as a council have done, you know, over the last. Four years, and we know there's a housing shortage based on the data that we're seeing, and we're trying to fix it. And so that, that is one thing. I don't remember exactly the second part of your question, but, but I do think that that we do have good developers here in town, Dave friends building houses still, and Jim Strawn, we helped him with an Rh ID out out on 43rd street. So we're trying to address it. Marc, it's always slower than we would like, but we are.&nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;Hutchinson faces aging infrastructure and limited budgets. How do you, how does the council, how would you prioritize spending on roads, water system, public safety and other core services?&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, once again, if you watch the last the very last Council meeting, we're addressing some of these infrastructure problems. We know that some of our infrastructure has been let go long before I arrived on the scene four years ago, and we're making headway to fix our roads, our water service, our storm water, our RO plant out south of town, needs, or excuse me not, our RO plant, our wastewater treatment facility south of town, needs millions of dollars of work out there, and we are addressing that. We are addressing that with some increasing water rates. Again, I would encourage people to get involved by watching these city council meetings. We had a whole presentation on water rates and sewer rates, for example. And you know, when I look at all this data, I look at it, the charts and all of that, but, but I want to be sure that we're, we're treating people fairly with the proper rates, the proper taxes, all of those things. And if, if people will get involved and find that information, they'll find that we are one of the lowest cost water services in in the state and comparable cities, same way with storm water, our wastewater treatment charges, they are, they are super low. So we are addressing those. I you know, my editorial comment about roads is, I think we have pretty good roads here in Hutch, and we, we work hard to keep those and I think, I think that every eight years, every road gets touched, I feel like we're doing a pretty good job with that. As far as public safety, that's very important, and our fire and police are now fully staffed. I know that the current Council has really taken it serious pay and benefits and trying to attract people to those positions. We were losing firefighters to Wichita. We had a police shortage there for a while, but both of those departments are fully staffed, or almost fully staffed, and I feel like we've made a real difference in making Hutchison the best employer around again, those, those are really what we should be doing as a city, streets, infrastructure, you know, public works and public safety. So anyway, hopefully people are noticing that we're taking that stuff, that role as a city very, you know, very seriously, and that that's what we should be doing.&nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;This one comes up from time to time, and people ask me about it, but what role should the city of Hutch play in supporting parks and arts and community events? And how can the city make these amenities, anemones, more available to residents?&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, I think, I think we have many parks and many, many amenities at the city. We can always, you know, always do better to improve, to improve our parks. I would mention that a lot of people don't realize this, but the city of Hutch has an accredited Zoo, and for a town our size, that's very, very rare for us to actually have an accredited Zoo. So we have a lot of things that people can do and participate in. You know. Many, many community events. If you can't find something to do in Hutchison, it seems to me, you're not looking very hard. We have festivals such as Smallville. I mean, we closed down our entire downtown, you know, a couple weeks ago for the rod run. I mean, this is a regional event where people come in and I just, you know, I love our town, and I feel like, I feel like there's plenty to do. I feel like our parks are there, you know, we're, we're again, just at last week's council meeting, we're putting $150,000 came in just a little bit below the budgeted amount to put in a park and have some&nbsp;play equipment put in at the fairgrounds Park. And we use the data we know which parks are getting used the most. That is one that is in need of some improvements, and we're improving that. We were improving some, some pickleball courts. All of those things are important to make the make the city run and make people happy and attractive.&nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;All right, we have about a minute and a half left one last question, fiscal responsibility and transparency. How can you ensure, as a council member that taxpayer dollars are being spent efficiently and that residents have a clear understanding of how those decisions are made at City Hall.&nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;Well, I think people have to get involved and have to ask questions. I like it when people ask me questions, and I I'm a very fiscally conservative business owner. I've had to be in the years I've been in business and I think that that we try to do that as a city, and we're getting back to our core functions, I will say, I told this story when, when I was asked about this in an earlier event. You know, I make connections with people. Made a connection with somebody from the EPA. We're, we're spending, we were spending over a half a million dollars a year pumping water into remediation wells out south of town. You know, with that connection, you know, Enrico and I met this person, we've saved the city $200 - $250,000 a year by asking questions. And those are efficiencies that we're continuing to do. We do things like when we when we fix a street, we go from the middle of the street all the way to the sidewalk. That's efficiency, and hopefully the residents can see that we're trying to be efficient and trying to manage their dollars. &nbsp;

Marc Jacobs:&nbsp;All right. I thank you for all right. I thank you for coming in this morning. Any closing any parting words you want to give me? You got about 45 seconds to a minute? &nbsp;

Greg Fast:&nbsp;No, I would just encourage people to get out and vote. I want them to also really do a little research on who they're voting for and I would appreciate your vote again for another four years. I can't serve any longer than two terms, so I will be done in four years, but hopefully folks appreciate the direction that the current Council has taken the city. Lot of good things ahead for Hutchison,&nbsp;

HAVEN, Kan. — Haven Community EMS paramedic Cobe Kunkel has been named the Allen Samuels Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram First Responder of the Month for October.

Kunkel, who has worked with Haven EMS for four years, said the recognition means a lot in a profession where responders rarely see the long-term outcomes of those they help.

“We don’t frequently see patients and families after the incidents, and if we do, it brings up bad memories for them, so we don’t typically get any form of closure or recognition,” Kunkel said. “So it feels nice to get a shout out.”

Originally from Maize, Kunkel said his interest in emergency medical services began early. His younger sister’s chronic health conditions required ambulance rides, and he admired the care shown by the EMTs who helped her.

“Seeing how the EMTs and medics treated my sister made me really, really interested in the field,” he said. “So I went to EMT school at 18, which is the youngest you can get licensed in Kansas, and worked for Haven as an EMT before earning my medic about two years ago.”

Kunkel explained that paramedics have a broader scope of practice than EMTs, allowing them to perform advanced airway procedures, interpret cardiac rhythms and administer a wider range of medications—skills that are authorized by a supervising medical director.

Beyond his local service, Kunkel works full time as a paramedic in Miami County, near Kansas City, where he works 48-hour shifts, while also covering shifts in Haven and Greenwood County.

“I probably work 80 to 100 hours a week total,” Kunkel said. “It’s pretty common in EMS to have multiple jobs, though I might work a few more hours than some because I’m paying for school.”

Despite the long hours, Kunkel said he finds great satisfaction in helping others and seeing them recover.

“My favorite part is when patients improve,” he said. “When you see someone around town after treating them for something serious and they’re doing well, it’s the best feeling ever.”

Kunkel praised the Haven EMS department for its willingness to invest in young first responders.

“Not a lot of places want to invest the time and training it takes to get you from school to being ready to take care of patients,” he said. “Haven really takes pride in its EMTs. The community is tight-knit and welcoming, and I love treating those folks up there.”

He added that Haven EMS is always looking for more EMTs and can help with funding for training.

“The profession is ever growing, and we need more people in this field,” Kunkel said.

He also credited EMT Dakota Isaacson, for being “a very smart, strong EMT” who deserves a share of the spotlight.

 </figure>By <a href="mailto:sean.boston@eaglemedia.com">SEAN BOSTON</a> Hutch PostHAVEN, Kan. — Haven Community EMS paramedic Cobe Kunkel has been named the Allen Samuels Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram First Responder of the Month for October.Kunkel, who has worked with Haven EMS for four years, said the recognition means a lot in a profession where responders rarely see the long-term outcomes of those they help.“We don’t frequently see patients and families after the incidents, and if we do, it brings up bad memories for them, so we don’t typically get any form of closure or recognition,” Kunkel said. “So it feels nice to get a shout out.”Originally from Maize, Kunkel said his interest in emergency medical services began early. His younger sister’s chronic health conditions required ambulance rides, and he admired the care shown by the EMTs who helped her.“Seeing how the EMTs and medics treated my sister made me really, really interested in the field,” he said. “So I went to EMT school at 18, which is the youngest you can get licensed in Kansas, and worked for Haven as an EMT before earning my medic about two years ago.”Kunkel explained that paramedics have a broader scope of practice than EMTs, allowing them to perform advanced airway procedures, interpret cardiac rhythms and administer a wider range of medications—skills that are authorized by a supervising medical director.<figure>

 </figure>Beyond his local service, Kunkel works full time as a paramedic in Miami County, near Kansas City, where he works 48-hour shifts, while also covering shifts in Haven and Greenwood County.“I probably work 80 to 100 hours a week total,” Kunkel said. “It’s pretty common in EMS to have multiple jobs, though I might work a few more hours than some because I’m paying for school.”Despite the long hours, Kunkel said he finds great satisfaction in helping others and seeing them recover.“My favorite part is when patients improve,” he said. “When you see someone around town after treating them for something serious and they’re doing well, it’s the best feeling ever.”Kunkel praised the Haven EMS department for its willingness to invest in young first responders.“Not a lot of places want to invest the time and training it takes to get you from school to being ready to take care of patients,” he said. “Haven really takes pride in its EMTs. Three-day outlook 

It seems to have taken longer than usual for fall to arrive this year. Finally, the predominate winds have shifted to the north, bringing the cooler temperatures with them. Soon those winds will carry a killing frost with them sending much of the natural world into dormancy.

This all seems delayed in part because of the 80-plus degree days in mid-October. Also, because the cottonwood trees in the yard are still clinging to a significant portion of their leaves, which are usually gone by now. The oak and sycamore leaves are just starting to turn so they’re on track to fall by Thanksgiving.

While most plants will stop growing soon and crickets will cease chirping, there will still be plenty of work around the house these next few weeks. The lawnmower will be put away for the season, replaced by the leaf blower and rake. Eventually I’ll have to set up the ladder to clean out the gutters and string Christmas lights.

Hoses will be disconnected, drained and stowed away to prevent the cold winter winds from freezing faucets. There are flowerbeds that need a good once over as well, taking care not to disturb any seed heads that can feed the birds that don’t fly south.

After a summer of heavy use, I’ll give the grill a good cleaning, but it won’t be put away. There’s no temperature that’s too cold for cooking over a direct flame, but the grill does lose some of its luster to the expanded menu that arrives with the north winds.

Still, as much as I enjoy cooking outdoors, there are just certain meals that are more appropriate when the air conditioner is turned off and you welcome a kitchen warmed by an oven baking throughout the day. From casseroles and pot roasts to stews and fresh-baked bread, comfort foods are a bright spot as the days grow shorter.

While my family will enjoy all of those, I most enjoy this season for the soups. While you can create a beef stew or chicken noodle soup rather quickly from canned ingredients, they’re better if time isn’t a concern. There’s nothing like the aroma of a simmering stock and knowing that as each hour goes by, the flavors are increasing.

Gumbos, bisques, chowders, consommé and more are all on the menu during soup season. No matter the variety, soup can be economical and versatile from a thin broth to a hearty chili. While I personally prefer thick, savory soups, especially if they begin with a roux, broth-based ones are best for getting over the flu.

Soup is also a great way to use up what’s left from other meals, whether it’s creating stock from the marrow in chicken and beef bones or using up any vegetables on hand before they spoil.

Toasted bread, chips or crackers can also add bulk to a thin soup or replace spoons for thicker stews. While every soup has its basics, there are countless ways to personalize your bowl, whether it’s extra bacon in a potato soup or adding several dashes of hot sauce to your chili.

Like fall itself, soup season is a reminder that slowing down isn’t a terrible thing. Patience offers rewards for those who stir occasionally, taste often and let time work quietly.

Insight: Soup Season 

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kansas City Royals TV broadcaster Joel Goldberg shared lessons on storytelling, trust, and teamwork Tuesday during a press conference ahead of his appearance at Hutchinson Community College’s final Dillon Lecture Series event of the year.

Goldberg, who has been part of the Royals’ television crew since 2008, headlined Tuesday morning’s lecture at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, closing out the 44th season of the series, a HutchCC tradition that has brought more than 170 speakers to Reno County since the early 1980s.

Speaking with local media, Goldberg said his talk would focus on the power of relationships and “making deposits in people.”

“You have to make deposits in people in moments,” Goldberg said. “They may never pay off. First off, it feels good to invest in people, but you just never know. You have to assume your paths will cross again.”

Goldberg said that mindset has guided his 31-year career in broadcasting, especially when covering players who may only spend a short time in Kansas City.

“You never know when a guy you interviewed once will be back,” he said. “That trust you built early, that impression you made, may pay off later. It’s never really a waste of time.”

He also reflected on his front-row view of baseball’s modern era, calling it one of the most exciting periods in the game’s history.

“Every era is amazing,” Goldberg said. “What makes this one unique isn’t just Aaron Judge or Bobby Witt Jr. It’s Shohei Ohtani doing things we never dreamed could be done. At minimum, he’s the most unique player we’ve ever covered.”

Goldberg shared that one of the most meaningful moments of his career came far from the diamond, during a 2018 visit to Kuwait with former Royals great George Brett to meet U.S. servicemembers.

“We went there to thank them and entertain them, but they were the ones thanking us,” Goldberg said. “It ended up being so much bigger than baseball. Standing there with them, watching a Royals game at three in the morning 15 miles from the Iraqi border, I just remember thinking, ‘I can’t believe I’m here.’”

He also gave insight into his interview style, explaining that he rarely writes questions down and prefers to let conversations unfold naturally.

“I want to keep it organic,” he said. “You can’t be so married to a script that you forget to listen. Every guest is different, some talk a lot, some don’t. You have to adapt in real time.”

Goldberg closed the session with a lighter moment, recounting the origins of the Royals’ well-known postgame celebration, the “Salvy Splash.”

“The first bucket wasn’t even Salvador Pérez, it was Alex Gordon,” Goldberg said with a laugh. “Since then, it’s become part of the culture. If Salvy’s my guest, I know I’m getting drenched. But that’s part of it, it shows the joy this team has.”

Goldberg’s presentation, focusing on trust, resilience, and leadership,&nbsp; concluded the 2025 lecture season.

Royals broadcaster Joel Goldberg emphasizes trust and storytelling at Dillon Lecture Series

With Election Day just a week away, Reno County Clerk Jenna Fager says early voting is off to a strong start and even outpacing larger counties.

“We started last Monday, and it’s been pretty busy,” Fager said. “Our early voting numbers were actually higher than Sedgwick County’s, which never happens.”

Early in-person voting is underway at the Reno County Annex, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Voters who wish to vote by mail must have their application received by 5 p.m. today (Oct. 28) to receive a ballot.

Ballots can be returned by mail, dropped off at the 24-hour drop box in front of the annex, or delivered to any polling place on Election Day. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday, Nov. 7, to be counted.

Reno County Clerk shares election updates ahead of Nov. 4 vote

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas Corporation Commission’s Cold Weather Rule goes into effect Saturday, Nov. 1, offering protection to Kansans at risk of utility disconnection during the winter months. The rule remains in place through March 31.

First implemented in 1983, the Cold Weather Rule prevents regulated utility companies from disconnecting residential customers’ natural gas, electric, or water service when temperatures are forecast to drop below 35 degrees within the next 48 hours.

In addition to limiting shutoffs, the rule requires utilities to provide 12-month payment plans to help customers maintain or restore service. Residential customers with past-due balances can qualify, but they must contact their utility provider to set up arrangements.

To reconnect or continue service under the rule, customers must agree to pay one-twelfth of the total amount owed, one-twelfth of the current bill, any disconnection or reconnection fees, and any required deposit. The remaining balance is then spread over the next 11 months, along with ongoing monthly bills.

The Cold Weather Rule applies only to residential customers served by utilities regulated by the KCC. However, many municipal utilities and cooperatives have similar policies in place.

During her report, Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson shared a message of gratitude and encouragement to district staff, recognizing their continued dedication to students and families. She acknowledged that the weeks leading up to the upcoming bond vote can be challenging and urged staff not to let online negativity overshadow the positive work happening daily in classrooms.
