
Fair Price Store
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Fair Price Store at 15 West B that is operated by the Methodist Churches in Reno County has decided on its funds distribution for 2024.
According to board member Nancy Murphy, $500 each will be given to Fairfield, Pretty Prairie, Haven, Buhler and Nickerson schools for their clothes closet programs.
The group also will give $700 a month or $8400 to Salthawk Community Support.
$1,000 will go to each of the eight sponsoring churches. Those churches are Faith, First, Trinity, South Hutchinson, Nickerson, Tenth, Mitchell Chapel, Fairview and Haven.
The group will also give $1,000 to Circles of Hope, $1,000 to Hutchinson Meals on Wheels, $1,000 to Christian Soup Ministry, $1,000 to Noel Lodge, $2,000 to Reno County Food Bank, $1,000 to Friendship Meals, $2,000 to First Call for Help, $1,000 to BrightHouse, $1,000 to Interfaith Housing, $1,000 to Hospice House and $1,000 to Loads of Love at Busy Bee Laundry, also $500 to Bread and Cup, $1,000 to Reins of Hope, $500 to Cause for Paws, $1,000 to Salvation Army, $1,000 to New Beginnings and $500 to Hutchinson Street Cat Society.
The Fair Price Store is located at 15 West B and is open every Wednesday and Friday 9-3 and on Saturday morning 9-12.
This is the place where First Call for Help will send those in need to the store with a voucher. A voucher will provide, for each family member, 3 tops, 3 pants, underwear, a coat, a pair of shoes and when needed a towel, washcloth, sheets and during the winter months, a blanket.
The store is totally dependent on donations, and you can bring them by during the store's open hours.
Each final Friday and Saturday of the month is a bag sale where you can fill a paper bag for just $3.
