HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department has moved another step closer to being an internationally accredited agency.
The Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) was in town this past week looking over the daily operations of the fire department. That includes finance, human resources, operations, EMS first responders, training, dispatch and planning. The agency has recommended the department received its accreditation.
The department will now appear before an 11 member board of commissioners. That board includes representatives from the International Fire Chiefs, International City Managers Association, the International County Managers Association and even the Department of Defense.
