Sedgwick man killed in single vehicle accident

SEDGWICK, Kan. — A Sedgwick man is dead after a rollover accident Saturday night in Harvey County.

Authorities say 20-year-old Jacob Shrewsbury was traveling with another individual in the 10,000 block of South West Road when the car left the roadway and went into a ditch. The vehicle then rolled over, ejecting both individuals before catching fire.

Shrewsbury was pronounced dead at the scene. The other individual, a man in his 20s, was transported to Wesley Medical Center in serious condition.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. just east of Sedgwick or about six miles southwest of Newton.
