Terry A. Schroeder, 63, passed away at his home in Newton, Kansas on Saturday, September 23, 2023 surrounded by many of his family members.
Born on August 14th, 1960, the youngest of three children to Howard and Delia (Huxman) Schroeder in Newton, Kansas where he grew up and lived out his life. Terry attended Newton schools and worked most of his life as a carpenter. His first marriage, though ending in divorce would gain him 4 sons. Later in life, meeting his wife, Marcelle, and gaining him 4 bonus children.
Terry loved to spend time with his many grandchildren, driving his pickup truck, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and both reading and watching westerns.
He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Delia Schroeder, his son-in-law Brian Escalante, and great grandson Ka’mari Beaver.
Terry is survived by his wife Marcelle Windsor of the home, his brother Stan (Beth) Schroeder of Moorestown, NJ, and sister Janet Davis of Wichita, KS; his four sons, Thomas Gile of Ferdonia, KS, David (Vanessa) Gile of Carthage, MO, Daniel (Kim) Gile of Iola, KS, and Joshua (Kayla) Gile of Ferdonia, KS; his four bonus children, Crystal Escalante of Cheney, KS, Trisha (Wes) Welch of Wichita, KS, Monica (Tiyson) Pherigo of Newton, KS and Stephan (Gen) Clark of Newton, KS; his 29 grandchildren and his one great granddaughter, Everleigh.
Viewing will be held 9:00 am on October 6, 2023, at Bakers Funeral Home in Valley Center, KS. Services will be held on October 6th, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center, KS. Graveside Service will follow at the McGill Cemetery, 6518 NW Diamond Rd, Potwin, Kansas 67123. After services a small dinner is pending and family will announce details once plans are finalized.
