Robert “Bob” Clifford Wilhite |1942-2022|

Robert “Bob” Clifford Wilhite, 80, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
 
Bob was born on September 9, 1942, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Jonas and Mary Helen (Joy)  Wilhite.  In 1967, Bob enlisted in the United States Army and served 1 ½ years in Vietnam, where he was stationed at Bearcat and Longbend Bases.  He was honorably discharged in 1969.  On September 26, 1998, Bob married Evelyn Black in Las Vegas, NV.  Bob was a local business owner, owning RC Wilhite Trucking Inc. and Wilhite Truck Sales and Parts.  He “fully retired” in early 2022.  He attended Community Church of the Brethern.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Starks; daughter-in-law, Connie Starks and a grandson, Hunter.

Bob is survived by his wife, Evelyn Wilhite; six children, Chris (Kathy) Wilhite, Tonyia Wilhite, Donnie (Suzie) Martin, Chrystal Martin, Tina Peterson, and Billy (Viola) Starks; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS.  with Pastor Judd Hornbaker officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.   Memorial contributions may be made to the The University of Kansas Health System, Cancer Care in care of the funeral chapel.
