Johnny Dean Rice was born September 5th, 1934, to his parents Perry Patton Rice and Alberta Nerrissia Rice (Stewart) in Langdon, Missouri.
They moved several times. He graduated from Scott City High in Kansas. He met Patricia (Lierle) in Garden City, Kansas. They were married March 6, 1960. They had children, 2 girls, and 1 boy. Johnny was an avid fisherman and member of Bassmasters and fished in many tournaments. Also, he took a trip to Brazil to fish for Peacock Bass. He was involved in stock car racing for many years, either owner or mechanic. Later he helped his son Perry when he wanted to race. He was a mechanic for many years, and then in 1979 we moved to Hutchinson, later in 1990 he changed to Rice’s Exhaust Systems.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Stephenson, Clarabelle Ryan, Joan Gilmore, and Janet Jones; brother, George Rice; and daughter, Michelle Diane Thomas (Rice).
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Rice (Lierle); daughter, Stacey Lynn Blison (Rice); and son, Perry Warren Rice.; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Bilson, Patrick and Taryn Thomas, and Alison and Austin Rice; and great grandchild, Ayden Bilson.
A visitation will be at 12:00pm on Tuesday, October 20th at Old Mission Heritage Funeral home, funeral service will follow at 1:00pm, and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
