HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Republican caucus chose a generally urban slate for its House leadership on Monday, and it is heavy on Sedgwick County members.
McPherson Republican Les Mason is the lone non Sedgwick or Johnson County member of House leadership.
Wichita Republican Dan Hawkins is Speaker, Chris Croft from Olathe is Majority Leader, Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter is from Wichita, Mason is Assistant Majority Leader, Majority Whip is Andover's Kristey Williams, and Majority Caucus Chair is Wichita's Susan Estes.
Estes is the member of leadership with the least House experience, but is the wife of U.S. Congressman Ron Estes from Wichita.
