Robert D. “Bob” Shelton, 87, died March 3, 2025, at Thorne Care Center. He was born June 10, 1937, in Fort Scott, to A.O. and Elsie A. (Cundiff) Shelton.
Bob graduated from Central Christian High School in 1955 and Adela Hale School of Business in 1957. He owned and operated South Hutch Auto Auction and Shelton Motor Company for 40 years before retiring. Bob was an automobile enthusiast and loved attending auto auctions. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church for many years and served as Pastor there from 1973-1977.
On March 13, 1959, Bob married Carolyn A. Peters, in Buhler. They shared nearly 66 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are: son, Jeff Shelton of Hutchinson; daughter, Julie Edwards (Steve) of Wichita; grandsons, Tyler Lawrence (Brittany), Trent Lawrence (Melanie); great-grandchildren, Taylee, Brydon, Bryn, Hazel, Lily, all of Hutchinson; nephew, Tim Shelton; nieces, Wanda Kay Shelton and Susan Crain (Lewis).
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, William Wayne, Clyde Junior; and daughter-in-law, Rose Shelton.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday March 9, 2025, at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th Ave, Hutchinson. Cremation will follow.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
