
ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple allegations after an altercation in the city of Atchison.
Just before 1p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block South 6th Street in Atchison, according to. Police Chief Mike Wilson.
As officers arrived and were out of their patrol vehicles a suspect in the disturbance was attempting to leave the scene in a vehicle and accelerated towards the officers. The vehicle abruptly stopped and neither officer was struck. Officers took the driver 23-year-old Zoie Bridges of Lawrence into custody at the scene.
The investigation determined that she had slashed a tire on a vehicle belonging to a 54-year-old victim who lived at the home. Open containers of alcohol, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found in the Nissan passenger car that Bridges had been driving.
Bridges is being held on requested charges of criminal damage to property, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, transporting an open container, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
