KANSAS CITY—A woman wounded in a weekend shooting in Kansas City has died.
Just after midnight on March 15, police were dispatched to a reported shooting at 26th and Prospect in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
As officers arrived they were directed to a nearby alley where they located a woman, later identified as 27-year-old Krystin Lickhart, suffering from gunshot wounds.
KCFD EMS responded to the scene and transported her to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Assault squad detectives and crime scene personnel responded to process the scene and canvass the area for evidence.
Late Tuesday, KCPD detectives were notified that Lickhart died of her injuries. This is now being investigated as a homicide and homicide detectives have taken over the case. A subject of interest has since been taken into custody pending further investigation.
