
Alma Scobee, 90, of Hutchinson, died January 13, 2024, at Pleasant Hills Nursing Home, Hutchinson. She was born September 30, 1933, in Heilbronn, Germany, to Friedrich and Emma (Birkel) Hofman.
In Germany Alma completed trade school and became an architect apprentice. In America she worked as a bookkeeper. Alma was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Haven. She was very active in church including singing, teaching Sunday school, and offering stewardship.
On May 30, 1950, she married Chester Willis Scobee, in Heilbronn, Germany. They shared 43 yeas of marriage before he passed on August 1, 1993.
Alma is survived by: son, Steve Scobee (Kathy), Mount Hope; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Willis Scobee; daughter-in-law, Mary Scobee; brother, Erich; and sister, Lilly.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Haven. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
