Jane Lois Krafels, 96, of Hutchinson, died January 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 24, 1927, in Western Grove, AR, to Carl L. and Jessie L. (Jones) Wheeler.
Jane graduated from Oxford High School in 1945, then attended Southwestern College in Winfield. Later in life Jane decided she wanted to go back to school and graduated from Hutchinson Community College and the Hutchinson Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She worked as a registered nurse at Hutchinson Hospital until she was 78. Jane was a member of Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary and First Baptist Church.
On November 23, 1949, she married Joe Krafels, in Oxford, KS. He passed in April, 2008.
Jane is survived by: her sons, Rodney, Rick and Cyndi, Ron and Nancy; daughter, Carla Childs and Dan; grandchildren, Jeff Krafels, John Krafels, Jill Roberts, Jennifer Krafels, Lindsey Koebel, Allison Hickson, Savannah Issa, Sydney Hoover, Austin Childs; 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother Bill and sister-in-law, Bernice Wheeler; and granddaughter-in-law, Bethany Krafels.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
