Unemployment up in February in Reno County

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The unemployment rate in Reno County rose for the month of February.

According to the Kansas Department of Labor, the jobless rate for the county rose two tenths of one percent to 3.4%. The jobless rate for the same period in 2022 was 2.6%.

There were 982 county residents out of work.   

Statewide preliminary estimates reported by the Labor Market Information Services (LMIS) division of the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 2.9% in February. This is unchanged from 2.9% in January and an increase from 2.4% in February 2022.
