
Marc Alan Miller, 74, of Inman, died December 30, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis – Wichita. He was born October 8, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Harold L. and H. Jeannine (Clary) Miller.
Marc graduated from Nickerson High School in 1967 and attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a Vietnam vet, serving in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army from June 1969 to June 1970, in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, Marc completed his Active Duty enlistment and then continued serving in the Army Reserves until January, 1975, and completed his service at the rank of Sergeant (E5). Marc worked in sales and service at Cessna Aircraft – Fluid Power Division for nearly a decade until his position was eliminated. He worked for a number of years as a Service Manager for car dealerships. In 1990, Marc earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and spent a few years working as a bail bondsman and as a Bailiff at the Reno County Courthouse. He spent much of his time over the last 3 years investing and trading on the stock market and he also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and connecting with other veterans. Marc was a gear-head who enjoyed working on cars and watching NASCAR races with his dad and brothers. He was a member of Amvets Post #11 and a life member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361.
Marc is survived by: his son, Jason; granddaughters, Jocelyn, Mallory, and Liberty; siblings, Susan Pitzer (Doug), Brad Miller, Lynda Miller; sister-in-law, Robyn Miller; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Scott and Clark; and beloved dog, Josie.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard. The service will be livestreamed and the link below to view it will be active at 10:15 a.m. on the day of the service.
