BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for an alleged altercation with an ex-girlfriend.

Just before noon Oct. 28, police were dispatched to Kwik Car Wash, 4920 10th Street, Great Bend, in reference to a reported domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, the officer contacted the victim, who reported that she was at the car wash when her ex-boyfriend, identified as 25-year-old Blake Sheets, arrived and parked next to her vehicle.

The victim stated that as she attempted to leave, Sheets opened the driver's side door, grabbed her, and attempted to remove the keys from the ignition. Following a brief struggle, Sheets returned to his vehicle and accelerated rapidly toward the victim's vehicle while she was still inside.

Officers subsequently located Sheets at his residence, where he was taken into custody. He was transported to the Barton County Jail and booked on requested charges of Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault and Domestic Battery.
