Ruth Luree Larson, 98, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Pine Village, Moundridge.
She was born on January 27, 1925, in Greenwood, NE, the daughter of Harold George and Frances Elizabeth (Bauer) Nichols. She graduated from high school in Union, NE. On November 12, 1960, Ruth was united in marriage to Howard Otis Larson in Ponca City, OK. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1995.
Ruth was a homemaker and worked as a nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital, McPherson.
She was a member of the McPherson Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include: five children, Georgia (Sam) Kincaid of Assaria, KS, Paul (Grace) Larson of Haysville, KS, David “Tiny” Larson of McPherson, KS, Michael (Diana) Larson of Winchester, VA, and Melissa (Matt) Schwartz of Moundridge, KS; siblings, Dorothy Coate of Edmond, OK, Anne Lorsbach or Tempe, AZ, and Donald Nichols of Sun City West, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Katherine Nichols, and grandson, Russell Larson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 15, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
