Rex Lee Roberts was born to Rex C. and Margaret A. (Foster) Roberts in rural Montgomery County, Kansas, on May 16, 1941.

On May 8, 2025, Rex passed away in his sleep while visiting his family in Saratoga Wyoming.

Rex leaves behind his wife, Kathyrn Roberts, of Hutchinson KS, three children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister, and his daughter-in-law.

Rex and Kathyrn were married December 28, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Elk City, Kansas, and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. They moved their family to Hutchinson Kansas in 1963, where Rex was employed by Cessna. Rex retired in 1999 from Eaton Corp after 33 years of service.

Rex played high school football for Independence High School, winning Conference and State Championships his Junior (1957) and Senior (1958) years. His team started a 49-game winning streak that spanned from 1957 to 1962. Rex loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting. In retirement he enjoyed striper fishing at Lake Texoma and trout fishing trips to Arkansas, Colorado, and Wyoming.

He always made time for family and friends, attending reunions and family events. Winters were spent in south Texas where he made new friends and enjoyed the warmer climate.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, 6/21/25, 10:00am at Saltcity Cowboy Church, 810 N. Main, South Hutchinson KS. Lunch will be provided following the services.
