
Bette J. Hunt, 100, passed away on February 14, 2026, at The Wesley, Hutchinson, KS. Bette was born on September 7, 1925, in Plevna, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Audrey (Salsgiver) Ulmer.
Bette graduated from Sylvia High School. She worked for USD 308 in food service for 13 years and retired in 1987. On June 7, 1952, Bette married Floyd A. Hunt in Newton, KS. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2016.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Darrell Ulmer, Donald Ulmer, James Ulmer and Sam Ulmer; sister Flora; Uncle and Aunt, Charls and Bea Sink.
Bette is survived by her daughters, Glenda “Lynn” (James) Beyer and Floye (Jimmy) Daffin; son, Alan (Karen) Hunt; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Brother Grayson Lacour officiating. Inurnment will take place at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Wesley, Hospice and Homecare of Reno County or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
