HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson firefighters responded to 210 Hyde Park at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday for a residential structure fire.
Heavy smoke was pushing out of the eaves of a two-story home when firefighters arrived. Crews made an interior attack and found high heat and zero visibility on the second floor. Crews made a coordinated vertical ventilation effort with fire attack and systematically extinguished the fire in the attic area. Crews searched the home, not locating anyone.
No injuries were reported and moderate damage to the home was sustained.
The fire was located in a second story bedroom with fire extending into the attic space. Fire investigators are currently working to determine a cause.
