HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education will consider adopting the district’s 2026-27 budget and approving an early dismissal for the Hutchinson High School homecoming parade during its meeting Monday.
A public budget hearing will begin at 5:50 p.m. at the USD 308 Administrative Center, 1520 N. Plum St. The regular board meeting will follow at 6 p.m.
District patrons will have an opportunity to ask questions about the proposed budget during the 10-minute hearing. The board will not take action during the hearing but is scheduled to consider formally adopting the budget later in the regular meeting.
Board members will review building needs assessments and state assessment information previously presented to the district. The proposed budget was presented during the board’s July 27 meeting and published in The Hutchinson Tribune on July 30 and Aug. 6.
The board will also consider Resolution 2027-011, which would establish the district’s Local Option Budget percentage for the 2026-27 school year. Abby Stockebrand is scheduled to present the proposal.
Another action item would authorize a one-hour early release at all district schools Oct. 2 for the Hutchinson High School homecoming parade. The schedule change would provide time for students to stage for the parade. A Hutchinson High School Student Council sponsor will present the request.
Nutrition Services Director Jennifer Tatro is also scheduled to provide a report on the district’s summer lunch program.
