Bobby ‘Bob’ Gene Perser |1938-2023|

Bobby ‘Bob’ Gene Perser, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village, Hutchinson, KS.  He was born October 31, 1938, to John and Mary (Miller) Perser, in Coffeyville, KS.

Bob served in the Army National Guard of Kansas.  He moved to Hutchinson, KS, where he went to work for Firestone.  Bob then worked as Service Manager at Ely’s GMC for many years. In 1986, he started Bob’s Truck Repair which he owned and operated until 2006.

Bob married Shirley A. Weiser on March 6, 1960.  She passed away suddenly on January 31, 2002.  On December 5, 2002, he married Mary Jo Rucker.  She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Norman Perser and wife Molly of Hutchinson, KS; daughters, Treaza Perser Sovine and significant other Mike Blasi of Colwich, KS, and Melissa Perser Ehret and husband Wayne of Hutchinson, KS; step-daughter Pam Rucker Hoelscher and husband David of Bushton, KS; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Sunseri of Plymouth, MN.

Bob was proceeded in death by:  his parents; wife, Shirley Perser; four brothers, Albert, Johnny, Doyle, and Jerry Perser; infant sister, Frances; and twin great-granddaughters, Peyton and Lillian Keough.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.  The service will be livestreamed with the link available on the Elliott Mortuary website.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Gentiva Hospice or United Way of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
