Vicki Jean Hiebert, 72, passed away July 21, 2024, at Via Christi St Francis in Wichita, Kansas. Vicki was born January 14, 1952, in Lamar, Colorado, to Calvin and Dorothy (Dody) Kelley. She grew up in Hillsboro, Kansas, and graduated from Hillsboro High School and Sidney’s School of Cosmetology.
She was united in marriage to Loren Hiebert in February of 1981 at the First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro where the couple established their homestead outside of town. She was a hairdresser at NuCharm Salon and co-owner of House of Hair. She worked at Stroud Insurance for a time and served in a variety of roles on the Marion County and McPherson County Sherrif’s departments for manyl years. Loren and Vicki ran a Cottonwood Outfitters for nearly 20 years at their home.
Her hobbies included gardening, tending to her animals on the farm, reading, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Kelley; her mother, Dorothy (Dody) Yost; stepfathers, Orville Schmidt and Martin Yost; and her sister, Sandy Friesen. Vicki is survived by her sisters Sheryl Wright, Hillsboro; Cindy (David) Schick, Bunker Hill, Illinois; Kimberlee (Rich) Carlson, Galva, Kansas; brother-in-law, Steve Friesen, Lehigh, Kansas; sister-in-law Shirley Reusser, Hillsboro; along with many nephews and nieces and their families.
Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3rd at the American Legion Ball Room, Hillsboro KS.
