Bud lived in Hutchinson and Wichita Kansas as a child and graduated from East High School in Wichita Kansas in 1952. Bud was an entrepreneur in his youth and had his own gumball machines and route at local businesses which he visited daily to restock the gum and candy. He also repaired cars at home and sold fireworks at his own stand for 4th of July celebrations every year to make money.
Bud was a talented mechanic from a young age, learning from his father. He started working for Boeing after High School and joined the Naval Reserve in 195? so he could pick his branch of the Armed Services to serve his Country. Bud served in active duty on the Navy on the U.S.S. Onslow from 1956 to 1958. After serving in the Navy, he returned to Kansas and continued working for Boeing in Wichita.
Bud and Janice (Clark) Guizlo were married on July 23, 1959, in Wichita Kansas, and are the proud parents of Pamela (Ken) Thompson of Wichita, Steven (Jill) of Burien, Washington, and Mark (Sage), of Mentor, Ohio. Bud and Janice purchased a farm in Harvey County, Kansas and the family moved to the farm in 1968. Bud and family raised beef cattle, wheat, milo, alfalfa, and always had a large garden to share with family. While farming, Bud continued to work as a machinist in the Wichita aircraft industry. The family moved back to Wichita in 1981, and Bud continued to work as a machinist at Boeing until his retirement in 1995. In retirement, Bud enjoyed gardening, house renovation projects, landscaping, Branson music shows, playing golf, and traveling. Bud and Janice split their time between a summer residence in near Estes Park, Colorado, Branson, Missouri, and Wichita.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents (Harold Perry, 1978 and Mildred Adelia, 2004) and sisters Ila Guizlo, and Adelia Goodwin, 2010. Bud is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
