Cathe Dian Peters, 72, of Windom, KS, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, surrounded by family and friends in Windom. Cathe retired in February 2020 from Home State Bank where she was a teller for over 30 years. She also worked part-time for ServiceMaster at the NCRA Refinery. She currently was the treasurer for the City of Windom.
Cathe was born on April 10, 1951, in Little River, KS, the daughter of C. Russell and Phyllis L. (Harter) Swanson. She graduated from Little River High School in 1969.
She served on the Windom Senior Center Board of Directors, was a member of the Windom Booster Club, and volunteered for the Windom Lions Club.
Survivors include: her three children, Chari Michael (Rod) of Turon, KS, Jason Peters of McPherson, KS, and Justin Peters (Jodi) of Haslet, TX; a sister, Dara Lea Hoffman (Joe) of Windom, KS; seven grandchildren, Chase Robison, Cory Michael, Sydni Bernhardt (Tyler), Taylor Michael (Myles Kamastra), Rocco Peters, Ridge Peters, and Rendale Peters; nine great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Russell & Phyllis Swanson, sisters, Carla Cannon and Mona Rhae King, and a grandson, Thaddaeus “Thadd” Robison.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Smoky Hills Mennonite Church, Windom with a meal following at the Windom Senior Center. A private inurnment will be held at the Windom Cemetery.
