HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas State Fair Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday that will jump start a much needed project on the fairgrounds.
The Board will take action on a bid for a major renovation of the Expo Building. The building, which is one of the most used facilities on the fairgrounds, is in need of an overhaul. The estimated $1.2 million project includes sand blasting and putting an epoxy coating on all of the vertical columns, replacing the entire roof and insulation, and replacing all of the vertical panels.
The work is expected to begin the first of October and should be completed early next year, weather permitting.
Tuesday’s meeting of the board begins at 8 a.m. at the state fair administration building.
