HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Online registration for the Sand Plum Bicycle Classic is now closed. You still have time to register at the Hutch Rec offices at 17 E. 1st.

The two-day event kicks off Saturday evening at 5:30 with a family bike ride around Carey Park. The ride will be around the park with ice cream at the Salt City Splash parking lot. The fee is $15 per family.

On Sunday, June 6, the classic ride kicks off with the usual three distances for riders starting at the state fairgrounds Oz Breezeway. The rides again this year are 14, 28 and 50 miles with optional 28- and 50-mile gravel rides.

The 14-mile route will take riders to the Highlands and back. The 28-mile route goes to Nickerson, then over to the Highlands before returning to the fairgrounds. The 50-mile route continues from the Highlands and takes riders farther north of town on Plum, then over to Medora Road before returning to the fairgrounds.

The registration is $25 and includes a shirt, refreshments at SAG stops along the routes and lunch.
