Leesa Anne Mersereau, 61, of Canton, Kansas, passed away on February 11th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Leesa was born on March 15th, 1962 in Burlingame, KS. She was raised the majority of her childhood in Topeka, KS, and later relocated with her family to Claremore, OK in her teen years where she attended various schools. She raised her children in the Wichita, KS, and Claremore, OK regions. Later in life, she met her husband, Bill Mersereau and they were currently living in Canton, KS at the time of her passing.

Anyone who ever met Leesa knew two things; she loved Jesus, and she loved people. She demonstrated this love by always being willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was passionate about four things; God, family, church, and serving others. She could always be counted on to offer an encouraging word and give one of her famous hugs. She loved to craft, go antiquing with her sister, and spend time with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed but we rejoice knowing she is in the eternal presence of God based on her faith in Jesus Christ.

Leesa is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie. And is survived by her loving husband Bill, five children, twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and countless friends and family members who all loved her greatly.

The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Newton, KS on Friday, February 16th at 2 pm. The dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her church, FBC Newton, to help support evangelism and a new church plant that she was so passionate about.
