Dana Lee Rogers, 73, of Galva, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Angel Arms in McPherson, KS.

Dana was born in McPherson on July 16, 1951, the daughter of Daniel and Nona (Grant) Rivas.

Dana attended Washington Grade School and graduated from McPherson High School in 1969. She then attended Hutchinson Junior College.

She was a member of Galva Community Church.

Through the years Dana worked as a teacher's aide and school secretary for Canton Galva Elementary and Middle School for 34 years until she retired in 2017.

Dana was Saddle Club Queen and enjoyed being a 4 -H leader, china painter, worked with stained glass, leather work and all her crafts. She loved working in her flower garden, loved her animals, enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids activities and her son and grandson race cars. She also enjoyed doing community volunteer work and being a church secretary. She was known as the town brownie maker, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Dana Rivas was united in marriage to Larry Rogers on January 16, 1971. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson, prior to moving to Galva. The couple was blessed with the birth of two sons, Rick and Steven.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; her mother, Nona Rivas of Galva; sons, Rick Rogers of Hutchinson and Steven Rogers of Alva, OK; grandchildren, Austin Rogers and Nathen Rogers; sister, Dawn Thiessen and Mike Gould of Galva; sisters-in-law, Mary Williams and Debbie Rogers, both of Little River, KS; other relatives, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Dana was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Rivas.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, KS.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Galva Community Church in Galva, KS with Tony Wedel officiating. Burial to follow in Empire Cemetery, Galva.
