William (Bill) Richter |1943-2024|

William (Bill) Richter, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Wichita.  Bill was born June 10, 1943 in Winthrop, Massachusetts, to his parents Carlton and Gertrude (Duval) Richter.  Bill married Hazel Tivis Cole on November in Clovis, New Mexico, she survives.

He was a graduate of Winthrop High School. In 1965 he joined the Navy and was discharged in 1971. He had many careers in his life. Bill was an amazing Boy Scout leader for 10 years. He spent 8 years as a Make A Wish Granter for sick children. He was heavily involved with KansasHonor Flight for Veterans. He oversaw the collection boxes for Harvey County. He enjoyed working with the youth groups of various churches he attended. One of his favorite pastimes was meeting with his favorite men’s groups to have coffee in Park City and Newton. Bill loved classic cars, attending car shows and raising money for Kansas Honor Flight.

Surviving Bill is his wife Hazel Richter of Wichita, KS. His children Jennifer(Tracy)Kimberly, Allison (Marc) Awtrey, William Richter, Donald (Brande) Richter & Irene Richter. Grandchildren Sashia (Mark) Gallegos, Caleb (Chelsey) Kimberly, Delaney Kimberly & Emelia Richter. Great grandchildren, Anae, Braxton, Kaydin, Sadie, Leila, Lawson, Beau. Niece Karen Martin. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and sister Jeanne Hall.

A celebration of Life will be at Life Point Church 400 Abilene, Valley, Center, KS 67147, in the North Sanctuary on Friday July 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Prior to the celebration there will be a VFW Honor Line at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donation to be made to Life Point Church for kids and youth camp.
