
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Preliminary hearings are set for Wednesday for two Hutchinson men arrested in connection with the April 11 shooting that left one man dead and another injured.
Sixty-four-year-old Sandral Wade is charged with one count of first- degree murder in the shooting death of Orlando Gipson. He’s also charged with attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of Landre Bowie, and charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The co-defendant in the case, 71-year-old Robert Lagrange faces a single count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
The two were arrested in connection with the early morning shooting in the 1500 block of West 12th Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and found Bowie laying in the street with gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He was transferred to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment and survived. Officers then located Gipson in the front yard of a nearby residence with a single gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The hearings are set for 1:30 p.m.
